I'm 55 years old and it has taken all of these years for me to get a diagnosis. I just had gallbladder surgery a few months ago and have been in Hell with the same symptoms. I now know what is wrong with me. I thank God for the ultrasound tech who found this out. I'm praying for the next step on this journey. I'm looking forward to getting relief and living my life pain free. Nobody can know what having your stomach hurt every single day for years feels like! Lord have mercy!! 🙏🙏 Thanks so very much for this video! 💖🌹🥰
so great to hear others stories! I had open MALS surgery in February. I also scoured the internet for MALS stories or info at the start too ahaha. but really thank u for sharing your story and giving us important reminders :) also wow kinda surreal to see someone else retelling their story that is almost exactly feels like mine as well
You’re half my age and yet I too experienced gender discrimination, as I truly believe if my husband walked in with my symptoms he would have not been told it’s time to seek other forms of therapy. So glad you and your parents continued fighting.
Thank u so much for this video I am in sophomore year :) had symptoms since 3rd grade yet told it was GERD. If I haven’t fighted I would have been still not diagnosed. I’m planning to hopefully have surgery soon because I need my life back. I do school work when I can too and work even harder when I feel kind of ok
I’m literally crying right now, I’ve been dealing with this for 8 years with no answer. I finally went to another state and was told I could have MALS. I came across your video looking for information and I really believe this specialist is finally going to help me! I’m thankful for your video✨🙏🏼
Thank you for your advise Cutie. I am going through tests right now. I have a surgeon assigned to my case, but he does not believe I have MALS but I have all the symptoms. It has been 4 months and doctors are still trying to figure out what is causing my abdominal pain, hopefully I 'd get officially diagnosed, so I can move on with my life.
Thanks for sharing your experience, God bless you. last month my daughter had gone through the MALS Surgery and she is slowly recovering. She does not have appetite yet :(
I need your opinion. I am a high schooler who runs cross country in track. My pain started two years ago to the date, and I thought it was a side stitch at first. But it would not stop. I have pain right below my lower ribs/upper abdomen, all through my sides, and above my pelvis. The pain comes when I run or exercise, which naturally makes things horrible as a runner. I also have very noticeable pain after eating. That pain lasts for hours. It is worth mentioning that when I wake up I feel pain in the morning after laying down all night. I have been misdiagnosed so many times that it has gotten excruciating. 5 months ago I was diagnosed with sma syndrome, which is similar in that a blood artery is being squeezed, but the cure was supposed to be gaining weight and that did not work. Also, not a lot of other symptoms lined up with sma, because I do not throw up. This new syndrome I have discovered is the most promising yet. I need your opinion, based on the information I have given, do I have this? (I am also a boy and it is uncommon in boys)
I am a 22 year old male who has dealt with similar issues for 8 years now with no solution. I was also a runner throughout highschool. MALS can occur during growth, and I grew 15 inches during high school. While what I feel is more nausea as opposed to pain, I think there is a good chance that you have MALS and should have the necessary ultrasounds and CT scan. The fact that you have this feeling both with eating as well as exercise means a lot. Personally, I have been diagnosed and are talking with surgeons. Yes it can happen in boys, even though its a 1:5 ratio.
@@Duke9LOL I actually did talk with a surgeon and he said he did not think I have MALS. the scans didnt show any squeezing. I did get a celiac plexus nerve block a few weeks ago as pain management, and it has helped more than anything else so far.
