Thank you so much for sharing this video! I am also an INFJ who struggles significantly with social anxiety. I appreciate you bringing up this topic as I haven't seen a lot of information online about INFJs and social anxiety. It makes a lot of sense to me that INFJs would easily struggle with social anxiety (for the reasons you mentioned). Like you I only really identified my social anxiety a couple of years ago even though I've struggled for it for much of my life. I relate with you in that it seems to pop up more in my life during seasons of change. I don't know if you've read this book, but a book that has really helped me is "The Gift of Social Anxiety" by Julie Rajnus. It's coming from a Christian perspective and has been so encouraging for me. Another thing that has really helped me with my anxiety is just sharing about it with the people in my life that I trust. For some reason, that seems to lessen it's power over me. I love the practical ideas you shared in this video. Thanks for sharing! As someone who also struggles with social anxiety, I want to validate how much courage it probably took to make a video like this. Keep up the great videos. :)

I'm always in awe of people who can talk so candidly about their social anxiety on RU-vid. Well done!! Cian, a fellow INFJ.

Thank you so much for sharing, Melody! Thanks for being so transparent and honest. I've found a lot of value in this video and it was extremely helpful. Love, fellow INFJ :-)

Hey, I'm an INFJ and like you I've struggled with social anxiety for a long time but have really only become truly aware of it in the past 6 months. Recognising myself as a sensitive person and understanding how that makes me super aware of other people's reactions has definitely contributed to developing social anxiety but I've been trying to reframe it as a positive thing, like it's a good talent to have, but also being aware that sometimes I need to step back and take stock of WHY someone is feeling an emotion and discerning whether or not is has anything to do with me. I've started to ask some of my friends "Hey are you feeling ______ right now? Is there anything I can do to help?" And it's interesting how often I've misread something, but also how often I'm right and it leads to better connection. Those breathing tips really do help too :) Thanks so much for doing these videos! It gives me courage to know that we aren't fighting these things alone!

Pretty much what's going on is the same with INTJ's where we INXJ's have "performance anxiety" issues due to inferior Se. When you moved and your current social (at the time) situation/setting was far different from what you were used to triggered your "Ne Nemesis". Understand what that is. "Ne Nemesis" is your extroverted intuition 5th cognitive function located in the "Shadow" part of your mind just below your conscious awareness and when that gets triggered we sure do get paranoid. Also, using our extroverted sensing (Se) function, like going to huge social events and engaging in small talk etc., taking action or engaging in the "here and now" activities, feels much like hiking up icy glaciers while completely naked. When we use our "Inferior Function" (4th cognitive function) we feel exposed, vulnerable, use a lot of mental energy and get stressed out easily and therefore can't use that function for long. Both you and I (INTJ) have the same problem with getting triggered/using our 4th & 5th functions. Just by understanding how all this works helps a lot with my anxiety and helps with my Ni to prepare because that's where our confidence is. The only difference between us is that you have NO CLUE what other people think (Te trickster; rationale) and I have no clue how other people feel (ethics). Beware of that trickster function too, because it further complicates this issue even more if we're not aware.

Welcome back! I consider myself Well learned in MBTI, Dabbled in socionics whatever it's called I have one huge question or if I'm lucky discussion I want to have. Duality theory persoanlly I AM a TRUE believer in it but its definitely not the norm. mistyped myself as an ENTP at first shrink/ therpaist informed me of my inner INTJness..... slowly accepted truth.... I am an intj

Thank goodness I don't feel alone in my emotional state. I feel like I was listening to my own internal monologue (when I happen to be in the right mental state) and I have the reassurance that everything will be okay, by hearing your insight regarding social anxiety. Thank you for putting the subject in a way that's easy for me to understand. I have a hard time organizing my thoughts recently, due to PTSD induced anxiety, on top of the fact that I was trained by one of my parents to be insecure about who I am.

Loved this video so much! Yes I have the same problem as well when I am surrounded by people who I find are having superficial and surface level conversations. I just get this weird anxiety that makes me feel uncomfortable because I hate faking my interest in what people are talking about yet I still want to feel like I belong in the conversation (I mean who wants to be left out in a conversation) so what I do, to get out of that situation is I like to just go to the bathroom and breath out my anxiety OR I just try to look like I am engaged by repeating what people are saying, and just nodding every now and then to pretend like I am actually interested. I became so good at doing this but tbh I wish that I didnt even have to put myself through this because I hate being fake. I wish I can just flick off people and just do my thing but again I need people to entertain myself... SO i dont know what to do LOL :) -entp-

How are you able to make a video and talk about social anxiety while speaking so confidently. How did you get over it?

Ratha Sometimes social anxiety is spurr of the moment or situational. I have social anxiety and have moments where I'm able to be extremely eloquent and other times where I'm frozen in a corner.

You really want to hear the answer? My answer is the following : she is simply no INFJ... If she would talk about here real MBTI personality type, she would attract only 20 percent of the subscribers she gets by pretending she's an INFJ

why dont you think shes an infj? and why do you think she gets more views for pretending to be one?

Morganey1 interesting observation, but let's not be harsh. There are different stages if you will and I'm just trying to better understand how she overcame social anxiety enough to put herself out in the open like this. I only wish that one day I can overcome my anxiety and do what she is doing. Just looking for tips, it was a serious question.
