When I was in recovery from the eating disorder, hearing other people's stories really helped me to keep choosing recovery. So, I made this video to give back to the community, hoping it would help someone too.
Thank you for this post. Very interesting. I'm a bit of an anomaly. My experience was the opposite. My mother was extremely petite, and as a boy so was I. So we both tried gaining weight and kind of couldn't for the first 25 to 30 years of our lives. Then at some point my metabolism changed and I couldn't lose weight. Being in a very macho Hispanic environment, men were supposed to be big and strong and muscular. So I worked out constantly and I noticed my health was deteriorating even though I was kind of ripped. Now I see it is a balance of diet and exercise, now, as you studied and I've studied, it's not for everybody broadstroke. It depends on your blood pressure, hypertension, if you have a history of diabetes etc. There are varying factors. and not over worrying about what I look like. I've learned you have to listen to your body. I would like to say as you age it gets better but it's becoming a little more difficult and has its own set of situation and circumstances and challenges. And yes I for one married a Latin woman and I prefer her a little more on the thicker side. I hope you have a very blessed day and continue learning daily.
