I'm impressed!! And also not feeling nearly as guilty as I have in the past about my stash. Love your organizational skills.

Fabulous stash, Sara! I bought the Comic Book Backing Boards you use after watching one of your earlier RU-vid videos. Glad you reminded me that I have them. Big smile!

That is the most amazing job of organizing fabrics I've ever seen. I keep mine in totes in my basement & my sewing room is in the third floor, I won't even begin to describe what that's like, the mess it creates & the waste of time. Kudos to you.

Where do you purchase most of your fabric from? What length do you purchase when you don’t know what you are making?

Your stash looks similar to mine however I put mine standing straight up like books in a bookshelf. Love the ease of selecting fabrics.

ordered comic boards, same as yours, and they should arrive the 5th...at first they said over a month wait... ??!! But all is well with the 5th .Oh dang... forgot the alligator clips... I imagine that I can use pins until I place my next order. Thanks so much for sharing this video and being able to see what everyone has talked about with the use of comic boards.

You have an awesome collection, you would have to protect from light to stop some fabrics fading from the sun or light or time, but perhaps because you have them stacked in the basement the light would not be a factor!!!

I love your incredible selection of fabrics. :). I use small (16’” x 13” x 5” high) clear plastic containers organized by the dominant color of the fabric. I found that large plastic containers become too heavy to lift and with too many fabrics become disorganized.

So jealous! I have at least that much fabric but it’s not that accessible. But I agree about the bins. It’s very tidy when you finish organizing, but when you need something it’s huge mess finding it and then half the time I don’t take the time to tidy it back in place. Whew! Excellent system. I will aspire to that!

Thank you for this great video. Great organisation tips here. I fold my fabric in a similar way using a cardboard template, so they fit into the space I need them to be in, but hadn't considered using alligator clips and comic boards - will have to investigate further.

Oh my goodness, how long did it take you to get your stash ? Very impressive. Do you have a problem with dust getting on the fabric when it’s displayed in the open like that?

And colours fading from the sun? It's the first thing that comes to my mind when I see such type of storage

In general, what length of fabric do you purchase if you don’t have a specific project in mind?

Beautiful space! Do you write the date the fabrics? I used to write the date, store, yardage and price on my scraps.

You inspired me to redo my fabric. I use white foam board and the shirt stays.

Bill, I started out using foam board too because I didn’t have that much fabric. Now I have a larger stash and changing out to comic boards freed up so much space.

I went with the foam board because of cost and I can cut to fit my billy shelves. I used about 500 boards.
