Over the years, I’ve kept coming back to this song. My experiences change how I think about the lyrics when I hear it again, but it always speaks to me profoundly. And I’ll continue to come back for many years to come.
I must explain! A couple of us work part time at a local music shop selling guitars. This guitar was absolutely defective and unplayable. The neck was twisted. It had been sitting in the shop for a year with no purpose so we smashed it and salvaged the parts haha :)
I just listened to the entire album and I just want to say to the band that your music is a breath of FRESH AIR!!! I'm so tired of listening to bland and empty music out there that is mostly derived from popular artists but your music is just so AMAZING! It is honest, emotional and so true to itself! Thank you for this musical contribution. Keep it coming! :D
How are you not a huge star? LUV yer vids, obviously your voice is the hook, absolutely beautiful, maybe I just hear what you're saying, tx for the songs. You don't have have talent, you are talent.
This is one of the songs that I always come back to mentally, when I think on the questions like “your top ten favorite tracks”, and also when I randomly look up at the moon. I had a certain period years back when I listened to My Fair Fiend on non-stop repeat, as my usual mode of engaging with music is. Briefly looking at the comments, it seems like you share the name Callie with my current musical obsession, funnily enough (the one that's a Grim Reaper Live Streamer)
This video is so accurate for the song. I want to rage and break everything when I hear this song and the music video perfectly explains how I feel when I listen to the song. Great job guys! I love the song and the music video perfectly ties it in! Oh also Callie I'm loving the hair!!!
I still have this whole album on repeat and I've yet to get sick of it (favs: unresolved, half life, dreamer's lament). I cannot wait for they physical copies.
Adam wrote all of the parts on the album and recorded with us, but since he lives all the way in Idaho we have a local bass player, Kyle, who is in the band. They both rock!
holy crap. just. wow. ive never heard anything like this before. just absolutely enrapturing and haunting; the instrumentation at the end is incredible. i'm gonna go listen to the whole album now!
I'm glad I saw this video. I've been listening to the album and the line "There's nothing more beautiful" I misheard as "There's nothing more to live for". What a relief, it's not as dark as I thought.
Today's Shaytards vlog brought me here and I just heard the whole Dreamer's Lament. It is such an amazingly beautiful song and so moving. It was just what I needed to hear tonight. Thank you for making such wonderful music!
Clicking on this I was expecting a soft, light, acoustic piece after hearing snippets here and there of other songs over time. Not disappointed at all though! Am a fan of it all. Loving the depth and the rawness.
Thank you! That makes me feel much better! I would love to guy my son an acoustic guitar. He has an electric and I'm amazed at how quickly he has picked it up. He's not a pro by any means but he can play entire songs by memory with in the first 4 months. he has even written a song and put music to it which is amazing to me. He has always played sports and never shown an interest in music until college.
I love this so much!!! When I downloaded the album I listened to each song with a smile on my face appreciating the good (and very awesome) lyrics, sound etc. but this video just MADE IT ALL COMPLETE! Btw you look so beautiful in this Callie!
Loved the music video and your new songs...wish I could take out my feelings through music or somehow...my dad was just diagnosed with cancer and it hurts so bad I just want to scream or wake up and realize that it's just a bad dream
This could be my favorite track of the album ! I've listened to all of them many, many, MANY times - but I just can't decide, as it's an overall awesome album. I love the contrasts that exist both in the song, but also in the video: Callie, you're cute & a rock star; you're nice and bad-ass; an angel and a stuffed animal killer. All in one person :D - Marc
I've followed Callie for awhile just because I thought she was a cool person. I've always really not liked her music (sorry Callie) but I really like this album. If I had never heard of her before I would have bought My Fair Friend's music. It's really really good. I'm looking forward to more like this in the future.
