Yes, very bizarre. His aunt Carol (mother’s sister) went through all the trouble to take the mother’s body back to Baltimore with her and have her buried there, but she rejected her own sister’s innocent and brave children. Incomprehensible to me. He and his mother are way better people than Noreen’s family. She poisoned cousins’ ears saying that Collier is like his father. So the extended family doesn’t want to meet him either. Ungrateful and disloyal idiots. They don’t deserve Collier, who is worth 1000 times more than all of them together. The Schmids have no honor.
Grew up in Mansfield and remember this amazing guy!!! The story was huge in our hometown and I am so sorry he went thru all he did back then. Amazing man today and lots of love for him from our hometown

I live in Erie . I randomly picked this video to watch and as the details were revealed... Location... Time frame... I realized this was the brave boy whose father murdered his wife and then buried her in a basement of a new house a few miles from me. Brave, brave boy to cement justice for his mom. Glad he ditched his sire's last name.

Thank you for speaking up about ancillary victims. My childhood best friend moved away and 2 years later she was brutally murdered. The lowest lifeform was caught. He did confess to his crimes and the murder. He got to live almost 10 years after he murderered my best friend; then he was put to death by lethal injection. Thank you Texas for making sure justice was served for my friend, her family and all of us friends. RIP Jenny 🙏
I watched Murder in Mansfield a couple of years ago. While watching it I was amazed with how Collier's strength and courage in getting justice for his mom.
What an interesting and horrifying story at the same time. Unimaginable what he went thru at such a young age. Kudos to him for speaking for his mother and seeing his father pay for his crime.
To be betrayed like he was by both sides of his family must have been unbelievable. I’ve been through something in my family that was devastating to me as far as betrayal that I’m still to this day has affected me.
You were not a heavy kid! You are adorable and growing! It's very different hearing you tell different stories. I've heard the stories about the night of the murder so many times I feel like I can almost imagine it. Although it's interesting to hear these new Recollections of your father it's also very heartbreaking knowing that he was abusive most of the time. If Collier Landry can move past murder we can all work on our own trauma!

Just rented Collier Landry’s documentary, about his father murdering his mother. Only 1.99 pm RU-vid, am completely knocked out by it. It’s a fantastic, and enlightening, documentary. What a spectacular kid he was, testifying on the stand; in the murder trial, at TWELVE YEARS OLD. Mind blowing, the whole thing.

Collier also saved his own life, when he realised his dad wanted to take him away and kill him. The families just left him to cope with everything, and he was only 11. They didn't even look after him for his mother.
I watched this case in forensic files program years ago and I am still impressed and in love for this beautiful and brave child which was able to speak out for his mother and protecting her memories. Now, I am quite impressed and touched for this adult man teaching and the world how to move on after a very traumatic experience. Send you love guy!

It was a very different time. There weren't high profile murders all over the place. And they didn't have social media and the technology they had today. Things moved much slower.

I lived in Mansfield at the time and Mansfield has a dark history and still today I swear Ohio is the true crime capital of the world haha most true crime stories I see happen in ohio. He won't because his narcissistic personality won't ever allow him to admit he did it and to get parole ypu have to admit your guilt and show remorse. I just watched Collier talk to the judge in his father's case and he was sentenced to 21 years which has long been and gone and he will not get out until he admits he murdered his wife and shows remorse so it looks like he's going to be in prison until he dies amd deservedly so.

I think of the games your dad played with your mind even into adulthood. I wonder what your mom had to put up with how trapped she felt. I will be praying for you Collier its exhausting following your story on multiple sites giving you feedback in snippets on my own life dealing with a psychopathic mother and her sick twisted extended family. I'm relieved some decent fairminded people took you in stood by you through all the twists and turns of the trauma then through puberty an important life stage into manhood. You were almost stuck in the trauma the pit your dad dug for himself, he tried to drag you into it.❤
I realize there must be some time constraints on how long the podcast runs, you shouldn't have a "hard" cutoff. You should allow for a natural break in conversation, not a two minute warning. I feel these topics are too important and should not be limited in explanation by a clock. Just my humble opinion. Loving the show otherwise.
What I find interesting regarding this story is that in every article except one that I have read, and whenever Collier tells his story, is that no one mentions that his little sister, Elizabeth, who was only three, told investigators that she saw her daddy hit her mommy in the head. "Daddy put Mommy on the floor and wrapped her up like a snowman," is what she told Lt. Messmore. It’s apparent that the murder was committed in front of his daughter! I understand she was too young to testify at trial, but why is this never mentioned?
It's not just being strong. I would say it is the opposite of being strong. The anger towards injustice is undescribable in some cases, and that can be driven to further tradgedy or as a drive forward, but it is not strength just because it is powerful. I believe any "strong " person would rather be in a situation and safe space that never required them to fend for themselves to the degree one has to in some circomstances. Don't admire pain, please. When you see someone being strong, please just be empathetic instead or give a hug, not praise. Praise locks in the hypervigilance, care is what really is needed. Cause as you hear him say, he had no one who cared for him. There was a lack of care. And no one should live like that. So, try to redeem people like that with some care, if you know they are kind enough to you to care for you, too.

He became homosexual. It's sad. He can have a family and change the trajectory of his family in the future. Hope he does. His honesty and perceptiveness is remarkable. We need more of these role models in the world. He deserves the love and devotion of his own family that he can build. We love our men for their imperfections too!
