Thank you for this! I am using my father’s world k for my first year homeschooling but I also have concerns that it is not enough for her. She already knows sounds of letters and is mostly writing already. So I am adding math with confidence and other enrichment items to make sure it’s challenging enough for her. But also everyone says MFW k is so fun so I’m going to use it as the spine and hold on to it for my other kids too and maybe it will be right at their level, who knows!
He may love Singapore math if you haven’t looked into it yet :) it’s through MFW and I hear is great for kids good at math - I plan on doing MFW kindergarten next year but bought TG&TB math to supplement - loved how they use manipulatives - ...thank you for your review! Your son sounds so smart & that’s awesome you can see his need for more & do that for him :)
I bought my mfw kindergarten and also the math and language arts from tgtb to supplement. She is already reading simple words w short vowels and knows some long vowels, working on others and some sight words. So when I got the mfw kindergarten I was surpised to see she was already ahead of the whole year's reading curriculum. She also is way ahead on the mfw math. I am glad I ordered mfw anyway as it makes school so much fun. She loves it. Although her reading and math are advanced, her other areas aren't and this way she doesnt have to miss the fun, laid back Kindergarten year. She doesn't like tgtb near as much. Although it's an appropriate challenge, she is not a worksheet girl. More of a hands on learner. She loves the activities of mfw. I'm trying to get the most for her by blending both. But my strategy is not to push the supplemental stuff this year but make school fun as a priority. I think I messed up by pushing her too hard too early. I'm hoping to push restart with mfw and make it fun again.
