I had an idea to show you my 2 favourite nano aquarium types. I recommend these mainly for bettas, maybe some nano fish and shrimps and lots of plants. Each type has it's own characteristics, shallow is my big favourite. Overall for beginners I recommend the cube tank, it makes life easier. Why? I'll show you in this video.

I wish people would get it through their thick skulls that these tanks are for little fish that stay little. I'm so tired of explaining to customers of my store that nano tanks are not for goldfish. LOL

In such a small tank I wouldn’t even add any fish, just some caridina or neocaridina shrimp and snails. In Germany it’s even regulated by the law, that you must not add fish to tanks below 60cm / ~60l Volume no matter the size of the fish.

I’ve been opting for shallow tanks as I like the look as it reminds me of my old 6’ 150 gallon tank in our old house before we downsized. And I like the plants growing up and out. I do agree that there’s more pruning involved but I resolve that by using slow growers mostly like anubias.

I planted montevidensis in a shallow, top view was a mess but the front view, what a sight for sore eye.

The low one would be a nightmare to trim plants all the time.. maybe if you go with easy plants the low one is best but they’re both great! Careful with the dust! It went up my nose and i was blowing black stuff out of my nose.. use a mask or make it wet.. nice diy work! Omg!

Well no, same evaporation at the same temp if the tank was 1000m deep,

Fish tanks should get longer and shallower in my opinion. Imagine a tank 120cm x 40 cm in footprint, and 20cm tall. A few harlequin rasboras and maybe a wild betta, would almost perfectly emulate the shallow stream habitat they come from

I buy fish to live happily and swim happily so took rectangular and also we can skip oxygen due to low height the fish won't depend on oxygen for low height 😂 So money 💰 or space 🌌? What will u choose

A lot of aquarium plants live out of water in the dry saison : Anubias, Hygrophila, Echinodorus.... NOT Cabomba, Egeria...

@@naopak259 Sorry for my english, it's not my langage. The acclimatation is the big difficult. Buy some with flowers or in pocket because they have been growing out of water, only feet in. Be careful with the light who risk to burn the plants too near. A paludarium is possible, but to keep moisty it's need to be closed. For open style try to use plants who don't go to high out of water.
