Thank you SO MUCH Jillian for showing those tools that have been the most helpful! I bought the "Dig Deeper " book & signed up for the ABC schoolhouse. I got my order today & couldn't help but dive into it tonight, but I didn't get too far tonight (cuz it's already too late). But I wanted to pop in to say a quick thank you!! I know that this will help my Bible study time because this is the way I have wanted to study the Bible, but I didn't know how or what to do. So again, THANK YOU SO VERY VERY VERY MUCH!!!!

That was a very meaningful video...I've heard the word chiasm before and the definition, but the way you explained it (just by the words "arro1ws") makes it more understandable for me. That was an "aha" moment for me. Thank you Jesus! Thank you for following/obeying the Holy Spirit!

Wow Jillsky ~ the word starting with k 🤔not sure how to spell it 😂 is awesome . In Joshua 1 ...mediate on it day and night. Is the theme key one this passage . Love the all passage. Wonderful resources and inspiration! I've done a couple of Jen Wilkins' Bible studies and loved the in-depth line by line method. I'll be ordering both of the recommended books.

WOW WOW WOW!!!! This was SUPER HELPFUL!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR STUDY METHOD!!!! Since late July, I have been fasting social media (no Instagram) and food during the day in an effort to get closer to the Lord. But I am so glad I came across your video today because I think it will help me tremendously while studying God's Word. I have the Jen Wilkin book (but sadly never finished it) and plan to order the Dig Deeper one because it sounds so amazing. Thanks Jillian. Hope to be back on Instagram in another month. Or two! Thanks for sharing your methods of studying Joshua. It is an amazing book. Would really like to know what your thoughts will be at the end regarding seeing The life of Israel as a example of the life of us as Christians. Joshua which is the Hebrew name for Jesus. Both of them the savoiur. The Israelites going through the red sea. Symbol of receiving the holy spirit. Promise land is the picture of living a spirit filled life. Etc. There are so many topologies.

When you study a particular book, like Joshua, are you using a book to help walk you through it? Or are you using only the Bible? I would love to see a video of how a study session looks like.

Sara S typically only the Bible-maybe the notes from a study bible if I’m really struggling. It would be very difficult to refrain from consulting a commentary without the methods/tools outlined in the first two books I recommended in this video- Women of the Word and Dig Deeper 🙂 Then once I’m done I’ll “check my work” by looking at trusted commentators/pastors.

Hi, Elisa! Commentaries are typically my last step, if I use them at all. In this case I’d consider the chiasm book a commentary to “check my work” 🤓 I do like to use my study Bible for the contextual/historical info (and for Joshua in particular I had access to an audio teaching after I worked through the text) 💛
