I love how enthusiastic you are about all these books, Jess. It makes me want to pick up Manacled, even though I am so intimidated by the length and the fact I am not a Harry Potter fan. You've definitely sold me on that one and I need to prepare to pick it up soon 😅😅
omg, The Rest of the Story was sooooo good. Tal Bauer knows how to majorly tug those heartstrings!! Yeeeeeeessssss, I loved Manacled too! Oooh I need to add The Puck Secret to my TBR!
So after watch this video I finally started Manacled and completed it in 2 days. Can totally understand why it was your number 1 for the year. My only question now is what do I read next!
Hi Jessica, I also read Manacled in a weekend, and yes it is my all time favorite book. Since that weekend, I have listened to it on Spotify at least 5 times. because I cannot get it out of my head. I have purchased a copy of it, but I must tell you it is around 150.00 for a binded copy. I bought it from auvexa. I have no regrets.
im pretty sure the author is not at all okay with people selling/profiting off of the works (she doesn't monetize it herself) so idk if that was good practice by them to charge you that.
I had thought this year I'll read everything i have on my shelves and NO new books, my commitment!! So much sticking to that plan!! 4 DAYS LATER... came across your channel literally have your favorites on my tbr list😂 oh wow, they all sound amazing!! Subscribed! And happy New Year 🎉🎉.

Completely agree with you about Saint and Sierra Simone, Jessica. One of my top two favorite books by her, and she is one, if not my favorite, romance author. I loved You and Me by Tal Bauer this year so I'll definitely pick up the book you mentioned by him. Manacled is on my Kindle, but I've been too intimidated to read it. You've convinced me to move it up on my tbr. Great video!
I read Fourth Wing and really enjoyed the fast pace and the relationship of the MCs and the found family. I am curious to read many of the books you listed. So, looks like I’ll be adding to my TBR list. Thanks for that.😊 I will admit to liking Iron Flame. I appreciated getting more information about how things work in this world. And since it’s supposed to be about the dragons, I want to see how the dragons start to take the lead in this series, or if they do. So far, I’m along for that ride.
I would recommend you The Auction as another Dramione fan fiction. It's written by the author of Forget me not when she was writing fan fiction. 😊 It's an amazing dark book. But not as dark as Manacled.
I reallyyyyy want to read that! But I’ve heard mixed responses on if I need to read the right thing to do first! Do you think it’s okay to read The Auction first?
@PeaceLoveBooksxo I also highly recommend Secrets and Masks. It's a phenomenal dark enemies to lovers Dramione fan fiction. In this one Draco and Hermione are both morally dark grey and are perfect together. 😊
OMG - googled how to read Manacled, haha. It’s on so many top of 2023 lists. I’m waiting for the day publishers are like Damn, sign this author, Stat!! Secret auction amongst publishers and her agent…🙏🙏 or I hope… There was another Hermone and Drako fan fiction in top of lists too, and now I’m like… do I need to read the books again, I never got past book 4😂. Also, Sky O’Malley… I read this when I was a teenager, from my mother’s stash, and it has never left me! It is the one bodice ripper that I’ve remembered all these years later, probably for the rest of my life - because one of the original dark romances. I’ve been afraid to reread it many decades later… but now I have to!
I did a top 15 Historical Romances, you should check it out. I've been very slowly dipping my toes into contemporary and now fantasy is so big I'm having tons of FOMO. Great video!
My favorites Desire in his blood You and me Until i saw you inked in lies Broken by the horde king Vitale brothers (the whole series) Crossed Reckless God of fury Infamous park avenue prince Fool hearts The good liar Make me fall Love me whole Always LOR Maddest obsession & sweetest oblivion The emperor (darkverse)
My favorite book of the year was The Wishing Game. It was just a unique book. The romance in it is not the main focus though. Forever Your Rogue and Wolf and the Wildflower were my favorite historical romances of the year. My other romance faves this year were Heartless and Yours Truly.
Echoes of You is my favorite in the series so far too Nothing was good after I Read Manacled Question, are you subscribed to Giana Darling's newsletter about her favorite things. She put two fanfictions on there. They are both M M, and I just downloaded them to my Kindle.
I have to say I really do not enjoy Catherine Cowles writing. I wish I did as a fellow Canadian but her stories are just so repetitive I really struggle getting through her books now, they just drag. Unfortunately, I’ve just given up trying to read her books. Some of my favourite books of the year were: The Royal Hearts Academy by Ashley Jade Hail Mary by Kandi Steiner Charlie, Love and Cliches by Ella Maise Unlucky Like Us by Krista & Becca Ritchie Palm South University series by Kandi Steiner Manacled by SenLinYu Remain Nameless by HeyJude19
