Oh my gosh...I SO relate to your makeup and brush journey! And yes..Lisa Eldridge is a goddess and was one of the channels that hooked me on to tube. I know I’ve seen every single one of her videos at least twice. Thank you for sharing such helpful brush info! ❤️
Fellow hoodie here! Great video. Just wanted to know why you didn’t like the flat definer from the sky set for under eye lash line? Was it scratchy? Was going to purchase but am interested in your thoughts x
Great video. You explained the brushes you have so well. It's so true that we get talked into buying brushes that other people like to use and then become disappointed when they don't work as well for us. I also get so confused when a brush use is being explained, and we’re told that it can do multiple things when in fact most people use each brush for a specific purpose.
+The Hooded Lid, This was an excellent detailed video for these brushes for ladies that have smaller eyes, hooded eyes or want more precision in handling detail work on eye looks. Thank you for sharing!
I have had my Chikuhodo Z11 for about 18 months now and I adore it for a final blend as well. The Sonia G mini booster has also become a favorite for the crease. I will have to look at the mykitco crease brush that you recommended.
That z10 has my attention, and has got a couple weeks now. I’d much prefer a synthetic version, but I’ll remember it. Thanks for sharing the eye brushes you currently use.
I let them dry for a a little while - depends on the weather - could be 10 minutes or half an hour. Then I put some aloe vera gel in the palm of my hand, dip the brush in it, and shape the brush. Not too much gel, you're not soaking it. It will dry as it's shaped. When you use it after - just brush lighttly on your hand and the dried gel falls away - but the shape remains
Thank you so much for this video! So useful! I’m very interested to know what is your favorites face brushes too if it’s ok for you. Have a good day! 🌸
I'm not too big on face brushes, really. I have two powder brushes, a single blush brush (though recently ordered another) and a couple of foundation brushes that I don't use very often. I'm afraid the video would be 7 minutes long - lol - but maybe will do if I don't have any product to talk about
I have very hooded (asian) eyes also... and my holy grail brushes are: Mac 239, Mac 217, WG #18, Sonia G mini booster. I also felt like the sonia G builder 3 was useless. I also like the smith 257 because it's tiny but it's floppy so I prefer my Mac 239.
Thank you. I really enjoyed learning about different brushes. I just ordered a couple from rephr during their sale so I will have to see what they are like to use on my hooded eyes. I like the look of your Chikahodo brushes so maybe in the future I will purchase them.
Thank you for this guide! I have hooded lids and everyone keeps raving about Sonia G but I just don't really get the hype. I will look at Hakuhodo and Chikuhodo!
This is super helpful and in-depth! I feel like brushes are so personal and I always get overwhelmed by all of the possibilities! So it’s good to know I’m not the only one!
Great video..thank you for doing it. You presented it very well and I appreciate all of the information on the brushes I have too many brushes I can't sue and this will help me narrow down what might work better for my hooded eyes.
Thank you for the detailed descriptions of the brushes; it is always helpful to have specific pros and cons. Enjoyed hearing a little about your journey back to makeup. The variety today is overwhelming but also exciting! You are a wonderful guide. Thanks for the time and effort you put into all of your videos.
Thanks! I ordered the Z-11, 1.5 and #7 from Beautylish during the gift card event. I too have gotten back into makeup after a long break. I was actually a MUA in my 20’s .I also fell down a RU-vid rabbit hole...which brought me to you and many others. I’ve really made up for lost time💸💸 trying to work with a much changed canvas. I appreciate your practical approach to makeup.
Thank you so much for the appreciation...more and more I think we're not uncommon, there seems to be many of us who are coming back to make-up and trying to adapt to our changing faces!
I SO agree with you that a brush that is “good” for everything isn’t good for anything. Finding good brushes for older eyes with their many changes is a real challenge!
