The ten guilds of Ravnica have become an iconic part of the game's history. Over the years, I've found my own favorites for each color pairing, from common recruits to regal queens, and today we're looking at the cards I think of first for each of the Ravnican guilds.
Magic: The Gathering Ambassador Ryan Gomez has been playing since 1998, and has collected over 25 years of tips, tricks, and stories behind the cards.

I love Rhythm of the Wild, knowing my creatures can't be countered and all can have haste or be bigger makes me feel ready to break the shackles of civilization

For Dimir, I always have a soft spot for Bane Alley Broker, partially because of the Uncharted Realms story that went with it. It gave a really neat look at what ground level Dimir operations look like, and had a sweet sorta-romance story in there as well

@@rasen7721 way back in the day, magic story used to be delivered on the Wednesday article called Uncharted Realms, and before that it was Savor the Flavor, but that's a throwback for the old Vorthoses

I really liked that MMNN cycle! Crackling Drake and Frilled Mystic were very playable, and back in the early Arena days everyone played Mono-Red, so Bell-Haunt was like a three for one, haha. Even on their third trip to Ravnica, it was very memorable.

About the Ravager Wurm, I wish it could destroy any nonbasic land, as at the time I couldn't deal with the most problematic of them all - Field of the Dead :( Not going to list all of the guilds, but I fell in love with Thousand-Year Storm and whole Izzet League the moment I saw it, so much fun

I think they didn't want the Wurm to punish players using Gates, which were pretty important in Limited.

Coincidentally, Rakdos the Showstopper was in my sealed pool at *my* first prerelease. I later built a Brawl deck around him on Arena that I absolutely love. Goth murder carnival is just my jam, so :shrug:

I be a Golgari fiend and I'm cool 😎 with the Gruul; I keep wanting to see Ilharg in Gruul colors, but that mono-R piggy is definitely one of my Ravnican faves! ...not that I want to see the city razed, but boy howdy do I love a good 6/6 with Trample +a friend
