Came to RU-vid to watch completely different videos and then saw this video and I was so happy! I've been watching this series religiously like I bet so many crafters are! I appreciate the detailed explanations of the different types of inks. There are so many to choose from that it can be overwhelming.
Thank you! How kind of you to share your knowledge and your time with us! You have answered and guided me through the world of card making with such class and caring! Thank you!
Thank you very much. I have been so busy that I didn’t have time to leave a comment before but I was so happy when I received the first notification of this year series 😄 I love this time of the year because this serie of videos. Thanks to you I have discovered this beautiful world of card making. A few years ago when I discovered for the first time this wonderful paper crafting hobby (for me), I told myself I will not explore card making as there are many $2 dollars shop where you can get cards for even few cents, however thanks to you I discovered the joy of making a card and that is priceless. It doesn’t matter that you can buy cards for a few cents out there as nothing can’t compare to the great feeling that you experience while you are making a card, definitely there is more joy when you give your creation. Additionally, I have discovered this world of friendship and collaboration that exists among the companies in the industry, that is wonderful, each time that you buy a new product from them, you feel good that you are contributing to support such beautiful creative work and the families behind them. ☺️ thanks for your wonderful work promoting this art, you are an amazing person ☺️ and thanks for supporting the companies when you mention them in your videos. Also thanks for your time ☺️ have a great end of the year 🌹🇦🇺🌷🌹🥰🦘💕🇨🇱💖🌷🌷
Hats off to you for organizing and categorizing and personalizing and anything else it took to present this video! Whew a lot of work. I wish this were around a long time ago when I started on my rubber stamping road. I am very glad to hear that interchanging brands on a project won’t produce a noticeable difference in quality of stamping. We are generally speaking “get it all” brand stampers! A good Black ink has always been the main headache for me to find what with the variables so it’s also good to know what you found. I have used them all and found many dried out sooner than I thought they should. But the Altenew obsidian Black has performed well. I’ll give GK a shot now too. I guess there’s only one Stazon type of ink for glossy paper as I did not hear you mention another brand. Well thank you again for a great video I appreciate your work very much.
I've used mainly stampin up inks for years. I've been finding that they dry up pretty quick... within a couple of years, which is quick to me! I'm thinking I should expand my horizons and so appreciate this favorite things video alot! Ah, live and learn!
I've purchased from a particular company since I began stamping in 2011, but have not been happy the past few years as they stick to a set number of colors that don't always work well with 3 & 4 layer stamps. This video has answered many questions about other inks. Now on to find shades that complement what I already have. You are always my 'go to' for stamping info. 😊
I love your series and I learn SO much. Ink is so tough to sort out since there are so many options that do different things. I appreciate the time you spend on these videos.
I consider this a go to video before you buy inks. This info was so helpful and will focus on what is needed if you are new to stamping and card making. Great info!
You are a sunny encyclopedia for stampers. Thanks so much for teaching us soooo much, I don’t know what I ‘d do without all I’ve learned from you in the past few years. Merry Christmas!
It always gives me the willies when you heat emboss over the container of powder, If I did that i would drop the heat tool and have a lump of powder. Glad you have steady hands. Great videos.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I too wish I had this info available many years ago when I first started stamping. I have such an array of stamp pads and still have my fav Archival Jet Black which I have used for a very long time, I love the embossed look and it is great with clear embossing powder. I know there are so many new inks available, but my budget and space won't allow me to change now. lol I do appreciate your info and will have to watch this again many times to absorb all the tips. Hugsss
Thanks for explaining the different inks and their proper place. Also, the proper paper as I didn’t realize that would make a difference! I love my Versamark ink, also love the Altenew sets for stamp layering!
I saw you'd posted this video and immediately thought "Oh no. I should have waited instead of ordering the 48 set of Altenew this week." I was so sure I'd learn that I'd made a big mistake. After watching your video, I was pleased to see that it really is the set I need. Only potential problem is I'm a set completist too. With 126 colors and counting, it could take a while!
Wow, I’ve been learning a lot from your videos. I’m new to crafting and I’m so blessed I found your channel. I’m taking lots of notes. Thank you so much for sharing all this information, is making me do cards and enjoy the process like a kid on candy land! Blessings to you ♥️🤗
Thank you for ALL YOU DO for our community!!!!! The time these videos and organization tips it takes you is MUCH appreciated!!!!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family Jennifer!!!! ❤️
A great insight into inks, Jennifer. Your experience and ability shine through on everything. Your time and effort are much appreciated. Thankyou for videos like this.
Thank you for doing this on inks. I use Gina K ink and really like them. Thank you also for taking the time to help all of us with your top crafty things. It's such a busy time of year yet your do this for us. I love listening to your voice. Merry Christmas!!!
Wow Jennifer, great explanation of the inks and how you use it. Thank you so much for your time and effort to make the series for us.

Finally I had time to watch the last two videos! You should have crafty series on the TV! I love how you show and explain the things easily! Thank you for everything! :)
I purchased every available color cube dye ink from MFT. The colors are so pretty. Used your discount code too. I hope you get a piece of that. You were very helpful in my choosing those inks, thank you.
Recently bought the two gold ink pads by Altenew....I like them very much. I have had good luck and agree with you on the Gina K. So enjoy your info. It often helps in some decisions of what I want to buy myself. Thank you.
I am new to stamping and I "thought" I knew, what I was going to do. The funny thing is that I had somewhat changed my mind based on another review, but I've come full circle and realize that my first thought was correct for what I want to do. THANK YOU for the heads up on Gina Ks Amalgam Black Onyx ink. I WILL be adding that to my Simon Says order!
You are such a Dear! You even added the shoes you mentioned! I just received Obsidian from Altenew today and look forward to trying it out! Thanks for all you do for us Jennifer!
Fantastic, informative video. Great thoughts that benefit both new and seasoned stampers and it makes the selection process for choosing new inks much easier. I appreciate you!
love all your crafty things videos.. You have really shared amazing tools and techniques and for amateur crafters like me its very very helpful..thanks a ton Jennifer!
I have a terrible time with ink pads going dry here in Colorado (including the ones you use). At the most, I get a year out of them. I sure wish mine lasted longer--it gets expensive!
Ok, I am a set completeist lol. But I just want a smooth finish. I have been "eyeing" gina k inks but there's not as many colors. This video helped with my decision. (kinda...lol)
If I had the money... LOL Right now, I'm going to use up what I do have, then decide on one or two brands, and stick with them. I like the cubes because I don't get as sloppy with them, so am hoping that what I choose will have cubes, AND re-inkers.
I keep forgetting to add the pigment inks to one of my altenew orders. I just ordered the new inks and still forgot again. GINA k inks are really great. One of these days I am going to start buying the full size pads as I have almost completed buying all the mini inks and refills. The mini ink pads are always the best way to start off testing any new ink brand.
Thanks for this. I was trying to decide what ink to invest in. I have 24 of the distress ink, but I found many of them to be dried up and they don't stamp as well. I was thinking about hero arts, lawn fawn, simon says or gina k... they all have coordinated papers. You really helped me decide.😍
I just love, love these highly informative sessions. The pigment inks and dye ink segment, and hybrid inks!, thank you. I never really understood why I needed the TH distress inks AND the oxide inks (have my favorite colors, have not gone overboard) but this all make such sense! I can't wait to try a Gina K and Altenew, on my goal list for 2020! 🎨 🖌 📒 🖍 ✂️ 🗃 📬 (wish there was an icon for stampers)
I really appreciate your recommendations for inks and other products. I have been wanting to try the Gina K amalgam ink for a while. I really think I'm going to try it out now that I see the results. Thanks!
Thank you for this video. This is an area I have been a bit unsure of. I have been looking to get new inks and think I can make a much better choice now. ☺️
Another informative, very useful video! Thank you Jennifer for taking the time to do this video - I know it is a lot of work. Prayers got your MIL and her battle with ovarian cancer.
I geek out on inks, and have put my husband to sleep on more than one occasion telling him about them. This video and the tool one are my favorites in this series that you do. (Thank you for the work you are putting in.) I was excited to see you featuring Pinkfresh Studio inks; do you have any inside information as to when their cubes are going to be back in stock? I put them on my Christmas list, but it isn’t looking to promising... Also, when it comes to ink cubes stamping well...Reverse Confetti may not be able to be beaten; I just wish that they had more colors...
I asked Pink Fresh about the cubes as they were on my Christmas list too. I was told they would all be back sometime in January. I'm having a lean Christmas because I think they will be worth the wait!
Wish I could find an ink pad that was not dry. I always have to buy a re-inker to use the first time. I have tried all brands including the GinaK which you said was juicy enough to use for a year with reinking.
hmmmm... maybe you need to press in the ink pad more firmly onto the stamp? Gina K and the others come fully inked and last a long time without reinking. If you want a super juicy pad i recommend the stamp market or catherine pooler.
Wonderful info! I can’t get over all the tips you need to learn just for stamping! For those on a budget, I found a hybrid ink pad called Palette that comes in black at Hobby Lobby, it is a fantastic ink, works well with Tombow markers, watercolor and colored pencils. It’s about $6, use your Hobby Lobby coupon and now you have a great ink pad, affordable ink that works on a multitude of papers!
Very helpful for me.. n really appreciate ur sharing definitely helped me with my decision with inking 😊😊🙏🏻👍loved the way u gav explained with a perfect example ⛸
Thank you - great video. Learned a lot and will be a go to for reminders on the different inks. I am really interested in purchasing swatches ( as you’ve shown) from suppliers. Do they typically offer these?
You don’t mention Ranger Archival inks. Love the mini ones and they don’t smear with watercolor or alcohol inks. I only buy mini pads (with trinkets) due to a storage space problem except for Distress Oxides. I’ve given away most other full sized pads. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you so much for this video. I always learn something new! By the way, what is the brand of your mat? I am looking for a new one, since the one I have is beginning to peel from the edges. Thank you again!!
You coin pockets for the swatch, did I see correctly that it has pockets on the front and the back?? Also, how tight is it? I am thinking of keeping my foams in the pockets
Jennifer, thank you so much for this video. I do have a question though that didn't come up, I often want to stamp my sentiment with a color that coordinates with my design on the card (sometimes black sentiments seem so harsh) but I find that my color inks give a sort of blurred image not crisp. Do you have any suggestions? I've been using dye inks. Thank you!
gina k are easy to find. i link to a few sources in my description. i haven't used SU inks in years. i try to use products available easily to stores, etc.
Goodness! That first stamp you used for the 4 colors together is exactly what I need! Thanks to you I have all my ink swatches in coin pockets but have struggled for what to use for a color family like that. Do you mind sharing what it is? Thank you!
