I just received my DJI Mini 2 all on my own. I didn’t discover your collection of DJI mini 2 videos until just now as I wait for the 3 batteries to charge. This is the 4th of your videos. I love the content and your attitude and approach. (The down to earth recommendations and self deprecating sense of humor top it off nicely). Originally my goal was to jump into a more advanced model but decided to get the mini 2 (a) based on features, size and capabilities, (b) because they are all getting better and cheaper. (Example the Mavic 3 was just announced!!) and (c) I figured even if I bought a larger one I would always have a place for this lil guy. Or gift it. Thanks for your down to earth approach. Keep doing videos w tips, reviews etc. 👍 I’m looking forward to my first fly ever tomorrow morning.
I got my Mini 2 fly more bundle a few months ago and noticed on the box they show extra propellers but I thought they forgot mine. I just watched your video here and I had no idea there was a pocket under the lid of the case and to my surprise there they are. I'm so happy right now. Thank you!
Its funny but this drone is so easy to use that im sure someone could fly 2 at once in an open field lol. Ive been practicing with my tello pushing that to its limit and am upgrading to a mini 2 today which brought me here. Cant wait to try it. Thanks for the realistic talk about the drone i want.
YOUR VIDEO SERIES ARE GREAT! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS. I AM CLOSE TO PURCHASING THE DJI MNI 2 COMBO you have sold me! The 2 way charging hub is a great tip too. LOOKS GREAT!!!
I picked one of these up 2 days ago. All I can say is I'm blown away by the pictures and 4k video. I was expecting no HDR. I got the Fly More pack. Also I have had this thing about a mile out, didn't lose even one bar of RC connection. The battery life is great with the fly more combo you get pretty much almost 90 minutes of flight time 30x 3. Wind does nothing to this thing. I didn't think I could love a drone. But damn I do, I love this thing! The price tag is what was stopping me but once you get passed that you will be mad you didn't get it sooner.
Ha ha I love this comment! I totally agree. I LOVE my Mini 2 for exactly all of the reasons you mention here. For the price, the technology is awesome. I bet there are many many pro users out there who have spent triple on their drone and end up saying to themselves "damn, I should have kept my Mini 2"
I really like your presentations. No "mucking about" as you say. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but quite often your videos will suddenly stop. I'll hit "play" to resume but no volume. I'll stop the vid and start again and all's well. But this is annoying and happens frequently... only to your videos. Just So You Know. But great content. Love it.
Thanks mate I appreciate your support. Wow that's super weird - that is the first time I have heard that? And I have no reason for you either, it is just a normal file uploaded to RU-vid so I really don't know why that happens?
Great video. I too upgraded from Spark to Mini 2. Only had one flight vertically from back garden so far, and need to build up confidence in moving horizontally!! But the upgrade to Ocusync really is a game changer. Liked, and subscribed. Keep 'em coming!!
Hey thanks for that! Glad you enjoyed and thank you so much for the Like and the Sub - super appreciated! 😊🙏 Ha ha yep I know exactly what you mean. I think for me part of the feeling comes from making sure I have a bit of flight time under my belt, as there would be nothing worse than losing the drone on one of it's first flights! I really love the confidence that Ocusync is giving me, it really has made an amazing difference Enjoy flying the drone, and thanks again! 👍
@Get Busy Living - great bunch of videos you've created. I'm new to drones and just purchased a Mini 2. I want to fly it around in urban areas, so I'm wondering what the communication is like and if there are any issues when there are objects in the path of the controller and the drone, e.g. buildings etc. In your experience, can you do this with confidence? Most of the videos I've seen are where there's vast open landscapes.
Yeah mate there is definitely interference and the range will be reduced, but I guess with the Mini 2 and Occusync you are getting the best you can, so just take it easy and experiment.👍
Been watching your vids and your right about the fly more deal. After flying a cheap drone the DJI is a brilliant piece kit and easy as to fly. The tips you have shown have made the decision to buy a DJI mini 2 a motivating factor in buying it. Look forward to more vids Thanks keep up the good work.
I have been watching your videos for some time, and yes,you got me convinced..I bought a mini 2 a couple of days ago.And YES,it is amazing! It is do stable,(I have tried some cheap drones before.)And this is a totally different story..
I just use sandwich launch box for kids, truck floor mat for landing pad. I'm poor so each to it own. I have a 4K and I flew in light rain and it done great until I can't see. I damaged the blades doing it in RTH, very robust, took lots of beating through trees to 200' AGL, but still RTB. One meter off from HB. It have a battle scars, but I like it.
I just bought the Mini 2 a couple of days ago and I'm loving it so far, and your videos have been so informative. And entertaining! I was startled though, while flying over a river at about 80m when I got a "Gimball Motor Overload" message, and the view on my iPhone was a bit wonky. I did manage to bring it back safely, but wonder if you've encountered this, the cause, and more importantly, how to avoid it again?
Oh wow - that is super kind of you to say! Thank you so much! 🙏 I really appreciate your support 🙏 I have had that before, once when I hadn't taken the cover off 🙄, and once when I was fighting strong wind. If it hasn't happened since I wouldn't stress about it mate. I'm not sure there is a way to avoid it 😕
I love your channel and your review here of the Mini 2 is very useful, I think. The funny thing about that claimed 10 km range is that the battery wouldn't last long enough to make it that far and return! Dustin Dunnill did a range test (in Hawaii) and he only got it out to 4.5 km before the battery was at 50%. But he reported that the drone never went out of communication and it was rock solid all the way out.
Hey thanks Mike I really appreciate that! Yes I think the big plus of the so called range s the strength of the signal, so when you are flying 'normal' (shorter) distances then you have a good signal 👍
Good and honest advice iv had 4 drones p3pro mini that replaced the p3 then got the air2 just because the mini wasn't great for signal then sold the mini and got the mini2 that now get the most use mainly due to new law flight restrictions
Nice vid. Just got my Mini 2 fly more combo pack. Flew it in sorta rough winds I advise not to do that but my drone was fine and came home safely. Its very quiet.
I agree - it's quieter than my Spark (but I did love that drone). The mini 2 is awesome - yeah you have to be a bit more aware of the winds as it is so light, but it copes pretty well!
Great vid/info. Wish I would've watched this before a bought the Mini 2 (Although I watched many other vids). I wound up buying extra batteries, a strap and the charging hub anyway, but it cost me more than the "Fly more" pack would have. Now I'm shopping for a carry case 🤑
Hi, I just got my DJI Mini 2 today, I tested it today and it was great, however when you said you've never had connection problems, and I read in the comments how great it is, I lost signal a few times today and it was just a few hundred meters away, I flew close were I live, there were houses nearby, but between the drone and me were just trees or nothing, I was confused about this, Maybe I'm doing smth wrong, maybe the trees are enough interference, even though I don't think so, or maybe I just got unlucky with a drone that looses connection after only a few hundred meters
It's very hard to diagnose and very dependant on your location. If you have the opportunity maybe take the drone to places with very different landscape and conditions?
Thanks for the great video and also your down to earth commentary, I'm planning to get this to get around the rig moral of the over 250 gram problem, I have a M2P at the moment and love it but I only use it for pictures and video and have never used any of it's features not even sports mode, do you think I will miss the M2P. Thanks. PS I have subscribed. John
Hi John - oh wow - that is super kind of you to say! well it's funny you should say that - I have literally just finished editing a video that talks about exactly your dilemma - I did it after someone left a comment essentially saying they went from the Mavic Pro to the Mini SE (although I'd still recommend the Mini 2), and for them it was a freeing experience - for one thing they don't feel guilty about having this expensive drone and not using all (any) of the features. So in short, No I honestly do not believe you will miss the M2P. I am scheduling the video to drop sometime in August (I'm trying to get ahead as I have a really busy time coming up and I want to still post regularly) Thanks again mate - thanks for subscribing - I really appreciate your support 🙏
Tonight I purchased the mini 2 fly more combo, I said to myself that if I’m going to get a 250 is to get a DJI one and not wait for the Hubsan mini pro that has not got the reliability that DJI has.
@@GetBusyLiving Drone arrived yesterday and yes it's great and it manages wind better than the M2P but has one problem for some reason when it records in 4K my computer will not play the file but will play the 4K files from my M2P which seems very odd so I have to switch the mini 2 down to 2.5K which is OK but I don't understand it, I have tried other players to no avail and downloaded another codec called HEVC, very perplexed.
Drone does not record audio. You could fix a wireless microphone but it would be pointless & pick up prop noise. Its surprises me that people think civilian drones record audio.
I managed 2.5KM before i got concerned about the return trip due to wind. 16m/s outbound, 12m/s inbound - about 35 and 27MPH respectively. That means i was flying into 8MPH winds. there was no issues panning or running the gimbal a *mile and a half away*. It puts my old JJRC drone to shame, for sure.
I have tried Mavic mini (1) what my friend owns, I have a Spark, I just can that sparks Sport mode is more fun then a Mavic mini (1), I dunno about the Mavic Mini 2 but I could assume it is pretty much the same but with different controller.
As for speed, the Mini 2 has a top speed of 35.8 mph (up from 29 mph in the Mavic Mini, and 31mph in the Spark). There are a few other differences as well - check out the video I made to see them ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K7ArxiZv3II.html or you can have a look at this video to see the differences between the Mini 2 and the Spark ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yFwqEtu0ZP8.html
Nice video, thanks! I love my Mini 2. My only problem is that Mini 2 lacks important features found in the less expensive Spark, like Follow mode, forward sensors, and Litchi support (that Mini 1 does have). And why? To keep it under 250g? So what if it ended up a little heavier? Real pilots don't give a hoot about registering their drone (unless they are weirdos). Or is it to "inspire" hobbiests to buy up to have those features? At least I hope Litchi compatibility happens soon; it is such an important tool for flying smooth complex patterns.
sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
@Royal Trevor I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I got mine a week ago and omg she’s a babes, I know this will get hate but I had to do it, I took it to a quiet place with no aeroplanes etc in the vicinity and got her up to 400 meters easily and you could tell it wanted more, next test is tomorrow, going to a beach in Edinburgh that when you look across the water you can see my home town of fife, , no obstacles etc so I’m gonna push her distance to the max
@@GetBusyLiving I know , we all have done it but the grief you get on droning pages for doing this, you would have thoughts I’d killed someone, I just say to them have the ever driven over 70mph on a motorway? If they say yes I rest my case.
My recommendation is build an Fly Even More combo by modding the Mini 2 batteries and soldering Mavic Air 2 cells on the Mini 2 BMSs lol 😂 yes with such cells you get 43mins on a single such modded battery and yes it is perfectly fitting inside the body of the drone ... yes the drone becomes 269g
What’s the line of sight like? I find it is better in rural areas and there is a direct line of sight between the controller and the drone. If it is up and behind you it will be worse.
@@GetBusyLiving too bad it can.t because it has no front and side sensors. So its also hardware. Hmm maybe later on a dji mini 3. For around same price then. That would be nice
Mini 1 was about 29km/h wind resistance, the Mini 2 is about 38km/h. I found the Mini 1 had a lot of issues with the wind. So far the Mini 2 has performed very well in winds around 40km/h for me and even higher gusts when in sport mode.
I am shocked I tell you. Well and truly shocked. Actually to be completely honest? I'm not shocked at all. Zero shockage. But only because I haven't watched it yet. But I intend to, very soon! Then, I am reasonably positive I WILL be shocked. In fact I am counting on it. You just better shock me, buster. Then again, you said "might" shock me. So there's no real shock guarantee now, is there. If the shock was a sure shock, I would have already watched it - and then I would look like this little emoji here. ⚡⚡👨🏻🦳💥💥 My hair... snow white! This IS a bit of a pickle you have put me in. I want the shock, surely. But that white hair! I have to think about it.
So tell me, have you watched it yet, and were you shocked? Even a little shock? I'd be shocked if you weren't. Or would I? Now I'M confused! Thanks for making me laugh :-)
@@GetBusyLiving I was. Shocked I mean. Perhaps not incredibly shocked, but measurable, palpable shockage did occur, and let me tell you, thats no easy feat with someone in a state of anticipatory shock expectation. I should have run to tge auto parts store first. To pick up a good shock absorber. ✋ 🤪😝😜
@@GetBusyLiving Oh... did I mention I just grabbed a Mini 2. I have a big drone - Fimi X8SE 202O, a fantastic drone in search of a shorter name I tried a heap of $200-300 drones, all seriously flawed. I parsed my passion to 3 solid $400-600 drones. Sporty flyer, full featured, and ultra portable- love them all, and I'm not spending more as long as I remain hobbyist.
Is tiny is this drone is, it is a workhorse. Are use it to inspect buildings all over the ranch livestock wildlife fences and down here in south Texas the massive amounts of illegals that are pouring across the border and breaking into our houses.
