I'm so glad I ran across Cara's Video about reorganizing the craft studio. As it led me to your channel, Kathleen. I love your style and I am so engaged. I had a huge collection of antique linens , buttons, laces, and hand made tatting, crochet, etc all from my own great-, grandparents and family members. Sadly, I lost everything I had collected to a wildfire 4 yrs ago. When I moved out of state 5 years ago, I luckily left some of my lovely treasures with my youngest daughter, and so happily I have been reunited with them. I just have begun to get motivated to craft again...and junk journaling is new to me. I lost so much that I needed to find something new to move on. Not only that, but I have loved quilting, crochet, cross-stitch, scrap-booking, sewing, jewelry making, etc . Thirty-five years of collecting and such just gone. But I am excited to find something new that could incorporate so many things I love. I will continue to watch your channel and see how you share with us. Thanks so much for inspiring me.
All that gorgeous lace is just a vision of happiness. But honestly, my heart jumped when you said "before I put it away".... don't put it away! Put it out where they can make you smile every single day! Great job with the organizing; keep it going!
You have an absolutely gorgeous collection of antique lace, Kathleen! And you’re so knowledgeable. I just like the pretty things 😂. Thanks for sharing!!
Kathleen, they’re all beautiful. My mother-in-law did really beautiful and fine crochet. I am very fortunate to have many of her doilies and other pieces. One of the techniques that I always admire in your journals is how you trim and decorate the ephemera and pages. You add those special touches! You are not going to know yourself when you’re finished organising. How are you feeling about being able to see and touch all of your treasures without shifting this and that to uncover them? 😀💞
Thank you Keryn! I love using lace, honestly. You are always so generous in your praise and encouragement, thank you! This is the first time I have all my stuff together in one room and yes, it is very strange and it’s going to take a little time to get used to. But - I am loving being able to see so many things and not have to go looking for them.
I agree, I could crochet my own trims but that little thread is just too fiddly! I only have a little stash of lace. I haven't gotten very lucky with the antique stores around here. I'll keep looking though!
I'm blessed to have a huge collection of vintage laces and tatting. I could put together a package and send it your way if you would like. I have been enjoying your videos so much it would be a way to thank you. Just pm your address to me. Hugs, Diana.
