Costa Rica in my opinion is one of the best vacation spots when needing a beach break in the middle of winter. Playa Grande is a surfing village just outside of Tamarindo that has all of the amenities that I look for in a beach vacation for the right price. The beach is great, food is great and it's really easy to get to.
