The goal is to get more as i finish them but the 2 i have now, the CSB Apologetics Study Bible and the CSB Ancient Faith Study Bible are awesome. I would actually love a normal Bible with the yellow pages the Ancint Faith has. It feels easier on the eyes than typically pages.

Thanks Pastor Tim. I have ordered the ESV Fire Bible. I loved the Life in the Spirit Bible many years ago and cannot seem to get it now but knowing this has the same notes plus the ESV translation made this a winner for me. Would never have known of the Fire Bible without this segment. Many, many thanks. 😊

What I like to do is lay out each of my study Bibles on the kitchen table and open them all up to the readings that are scheduled on Sunday for church. I take notes in a single notebook and then I am prepared to get the most that I can from the preaching of God's word. Great reviews, thank you very much!

This year I bought the Chronological Life Application study Bible in the NLT. I printed out a 60 day reading plan from Bible Gateway. I wish this Bible had a reading plan for the whole Bible in it. There is a reading plan but it seems to not be complete. So, the printout plan will be useful and I can apply it to any of the Bibles to switch around and go through chronological order. I've never done it that way.

Thank you so much for this video sir. I only have 1 study Bible in nkjv 1975 Spirit filled. I'm still deciding on study & reference types. I had not seen the CSB you introduced. The ESV has always been a front runner for me. I like having one that would have focus on words with Greek & Hebrew translations even if in concordance. I appreciate your showing Catholic bibles, by faith as a Catholic born again believer reintroducing myself to the Catholic faith, the Didache Bible with the catechism references sounds interesting. Thank you again.

In English I use the following study bibles, an ESV The Reformation Study Bible from Ligonier Ministries, because I write a lot with Reformed Christians, and I have an Orthodox Study Bible also.

The Spirit-filled Life Bible was my baptism Bible (16 years old). My pastor had my name put on it. I read that Bible for a good 10 years before I purchased an ESV Study Bible. That NKJV Study Bible will always hold a special place in my life, though.

For me: CSB Study Bible and/or CSB Apologetics Study Bible (tie). ESV Study Bible. NASB/LSB MacArthur Study Bible. NET Bible with full notes. The notes are the best feature of the NET Bible and also the reason why even other scholars working on other translations say they consult the NET Bible. As many have said, the NET Bible's notes are what make the NET Bible "the translator's translation". NIV Biblical Theology Study Bible. NKJV Reformation Study Bible. NLT Filament Bible (the original, not newer ones, because I personally prefer single column, and the original NLT Filament Bible is single column, whereas the newer ones are double column). Edit: It might be helpful to point out that the vast majority of the NLT Illustrated Study Bible makes its way into the NLT Filament Bible. So if you get the NLT Filament Bible, you'll have most of what's in the NLT Illustrated Study Bible as well. Plus the NLT Filament Bible has other resources like videos from the Bible Project which aren't in the NLT Illustrated Study Bible.

I've done an exhaustive internet search for the CSB Baker's Illustrated Study Bible, it is out print. I found two used copies: one on Amazon and one on eBay. Both were outside my spending comfort zone for a hardback edition, but if anyone's looking, they are out there. It's just hard to find. I'm new to your channel, and really enjoying the content so far!

Wow! Where do I begin. THE JERUSALEM BIBLE 1966 IS MY FAVORITE BY DOUBLEDAY. Then The navarre study bible series. Then the ANCIENT CHRISTIAN COMMENTARY ON SCRIPTURE study bible. THE NEW AMERICAN BIBLE REVISED. All catholic editions I believe. I enjoy your comments on scripture.

I'm a Catholic and I must say - it is so awesome and refreshing to watch your channel b/c of your unbiased and inclusive outputs. In turn it makes me more receptive to tune in. Great video about some great study bibles! The Fire Bible & Spirit Filled are two of my favs. I also use the Cultural Background & the NIV Study Bible regularly. I don't know if a Thompson Chain falls into this category but that one also rounds out my main go to study bibles.

I am not typically a "Chronological" bible fan, I prefer the traditional layout! However, Tyndales newly released Chronological Life Application Study Bible (2nd Edition) is my current favorite...I would say even more Illustrated than the NLT Illustrated Bible. Loved todays video + you have given me a couple new options I dont currently have! Thanks again for sharing and introducing some new Christmas options! Do you have affiliate links on these?Specifically the Orthodox Study Bible🙏🙌 Thanks, Lisa

My number one study Bible, as it has been since it came out in the seventies, is from Moody Press. (Did I hear you mention Moody? Surely, you have Bibles from Moody.) The Ryrie Study Bible CANNOT be outdone. I have directed many believers toward the Ryrie, and shall continue to do so. It is a one-volume Bible college education. I live in the Bible Belt, where pastors manipulate their congregants (in my opinion) toward the 1917 Old Scofield Study Bible from Oxford Press. They spoil (cripple) their people by announcing the very page number of their text, so that the folks never have to familiarize themselves with the books of the Bible. (There's my rant for today.) However, the 1917 study notes are not very thorough or not actually all that good. But, the 1967 New Scofield revision is a monumental improvement over the original. So, my favorite from Oxford Press is the 1967 New Scofield Reference Bible. The Scofield III attempts to impress by combining the notes from both editions. In many cases, the concepts simply either cancel each other out or refuse to emulsify. The big problem: The 1967 is out of print. However, folks who do not realize what a treasure they have are offering them in great numbers on eBay.

I did not mention Moody, one thing I love about the comments, is I always find bibles I don’t have.

I’m reading through the Ryrie KJV Study Bible right now, and have been slightly underwhelmed by it, which has surprised me (given how much I respect Ryrie and have enjoyed many of his books). I feel about it much the same way you feel about the Old Scofield. I also have to disagree about the revisions to the latter-the original is the one to read, if only to understand why it's had such an enormous influence. As an aside, it’s a pity the current Oxford editions are so lousy in terms of quality. I wish a better publisher would wrest the Old Scofield from them and do it justice in a modern (ie 2K Denmark) edition.

That response was to Brother Tim's comment. As for my other brother's reaction to my opinions of the Ryrie and the 1967 New Scofield, I can respect your disagreement. I confess that I am doggedly a new premillennial dispensationalist. As such, I am naturally inclined to treasure the Ryrie and the 1967 Scofield. If one is not a determined new premillennial dispensationalist and a pre-tribulation rapturist, then one would not tend to gravitate toward these resources. BTW, I am careful not to make these matters of interpretation tests of fellowship. Good Christians differ on non-essentials. As for Oxford's production of shoddy products, I couldn't agree with you more. A short while back, I picked up a used Old Scofield on a bargain table. As I purchased it, the saleslady asked if she might do some simple repair to it before I took it. I explained that it would not be necessary, since my plan was to tear it to pieces, in order to repair and replace pages from my Old Scofields which we're falling apart.
