I just hope it's not as exaggerated as the crosswind effect has been on weathervaning. I have flown all kinds of aircraft for nearly 20 years, and I have never seen an aircraft need full rudder to keep the aircraft straight in a five or 10 not crosswind. In the flight simulator, the aircraft behaves as if it is in a 30 knot direct crosswind.

Thanks for that. Your enthusiasm for flying and all it can involve is infectious! I did have a question on tyre drag though. From what I've seen this is not currently modelled and is supposedly coming in SU15? Will this make the x wind operations a bit more realistic? I find the sim a lot more sensitive than the real world - trained last year in a 152 on the highveld in South Africa and we had some serious x winds a few times! Seems easier in the real world than in the sim??

Why is it so difficult to ground steer on takeoff and higher speeds. I find myself struggling to keep the plane straight (especially in the Fenix) even in normal taxi. Even the slightest rudder movement causes the plane to overcorrect and then I find myself focusing so much on keeping it straight that I miss the Vr. Is it that tough in real life in a big airliner or is it a sim issue. Indeed I don't stuggle as much in the PMDG

@@jeffcupido4110 Put your rudder sensitivity to -20 on each and about 40% on reactivity. mess with those and if need to might have to add in some of deadzone too. Interesting how it needed to be added as a 'FEATURE' and even 'baked in' as such to the addon itself potentially. It would stand to reason if they just simply modeled wind and lift physics accurately from the beginning then all these dynamic scenarios and effects would just take place naturally. the sim 'engine' as such should have these basic features/physics baked in at a ground level given its orientated around flight simulation. Haha, build a flight simulator then realize they should probably think about adding the elements which make flight possible. Brilliant stuff haha. Not hating, just having a laugh. I love msfs20. I'm thinking all this is surely what msfs24 is bringing to the table, surely haha, fixing the mistakes and constraints they made with 2020. HOPEFULLY!

This is exactly my thoughts. It's things like this that make me keep X-Plane on my computer. I actually thought this was already simulated in the sim. TBH Microsoft as a game publisher have a catalog of games that never seem to be the best in class. A good example is Forza Motorsport on Xbox Versus Gran Turismo on Playstation. Gran Turismo for me for years has always been the better driving simulator compared to Forza. Forza has always felt arcadey...and this is a common theme across Microsoft's catalog. They seem to have all the money but somehow never publish the best softwares in class despite all the hype they pump in. I love MSFS though and play it more than X-Plane but whenever I go back to play X-Plane there is always something about how it feels that just outstounds me compared to MSFS. I do though still play MSFS more.

@@ikennamadueke9131 Xplane took years to get their flight physics accurate. and it would also estimate the same for msfs. I tried xplane again and it felt "behind". For most simmers will never be able to measure and experience every nuance and force impacting the aircraft to the extent a real airline pilot can. So, the emphasis is less on absolute nailed physics and more on the overall aviation experience from end-to-end. And here MS has leaped ahead. But comparisons will eventually be all over consistently. And even pilots differ in opinion. So, for me at least 2 platforms are not the answer. We will evolve as MSFS does. The systems modeling is excellent and exactly like xplane, the physics will improve.
