I really want to thank you for opening this yoga anatomy world to me. Your videos are so down to earth and clearly explained. It's because of your great class that I started to like this field and now truly into it! Many many thanks from the opposite site of the world!

I've just signed up to Gil Hedley's library and it looks INCREDIBLE! Thank you for sharing. My first yoga TT program wasn't so hot on anatomy and coming from an arts background, I have really struggled to get my head around it. I'm now studying 200 hours TT of Yin and functional anatomy and I'm loving it. Looking forward to watching Gil's videos on fascia! I long to be an anatomy nerd! 🤓 Heartened to see many of your recommendations are already in my collection... next step: actually reading them! It doesn't seem to go in by osmosis 🙄. A recommendation in return: "Essential Anatomy 5" is a brilliant app, it's for medics so very thorough, but user friendly... for when you want to take your anatomy nerdery on the move! x

YAY!!!! Your next step: take Gil's 6-day cadaver lab!!! I did two of them and it changed my life :)! Seriously, you will never look at the body the same way again. XOXO

@@RachelScottYoga I'll add that to my wish list! I've genuinely just this minute finished the first video from the What's the Fuzz series (spongey, slippery, strappy!) and I am ALL IN! What an amazing resource, it is so good of him to share it for free.

I know, right?? Good stuff ;) And....I think you're well on way your way to being an anatomy nerd ;)

@@RachelScottYoga You're very kind! I'm not so sure... although I do enjoy going around saying things are "fascianating" and chuckling to myself, so maybe I'm getting there! 😬

Hey Emma, I'm starting out my YTT journey and was looking for a 200 YTT of Hatha and functional anatomy myself. Please let me know if you know of any good ones. I'm based in Dubai btw

Thanks for the information! But if u were to choose 1 book, which would it be? I can't choose which i want to start with. While I want to go from basic to advance, I'm also nerdy and want to to sort of deep dive
@RachelScottYoga

Gotcha. Go with Leslie Kaminoff's - good balance of nerdy and accessible!

hi, it was interesting to watch your video recently. Just wondering if there is a book that shows and explain effect of asanas and pranayamas on the internal organs particularly prostate.
@RachelScottYoga

That is a very interesting question. I do not know of any mainstream books that address this, however, some yoga texts (the hatha yoga pradipika) do talk about mula bandha and its relationship to the prostrate and the sexual organs to some extent. And I do believe that Light on Yoga does reference the benefits of yoga for particular organs. It would be really wonderful to have a book that addressed the visceral organs more directly.
