These are all of my favorite tools that I use as a virtual bookkeeper. If you own a bookkeeping business, you'll want to check these out. This is how I get contracts signed, manage client receipts, pay bills, and get paid by my clients. Here's a list of the things I talk about:

You don't need to wear any formal wear because bookkeeping can be done remotely from the comfort of your home. 🙂 It's the best! You'll love it!

Thank you for sharing your most recent video. What you said, in the video, sounds interesting. Although I have a bookkeeping and accounting business as you know of, I may have to learn about QuickBooks, because that's one thing I don't have in my business. Hopefully, I will be trained in that, so if I do bookkeeping and accounting using QuickBooks, as clients these days want, I believe I can be proficient in this, so I can continue to do this sort of work, not only for current clients, but also so I can obtain more clients. I do look forward to seeing more of your upcoming videos if you will have any, and also hope your business will continue to be successful.

Hi Morgan I'm a virtual bookkeeper as well, and I wanted to let you know how much your videos have helped me. I feel like you touch on all aspects of starting and running the bookkeeping business. Even someone with a business degree I felt this helped with me imposter system. Could you give me advice on how to start creating videos about bookkeeping as well?

Hey! Morgan is glad you are enjoying her channel and finding the information helpful in your own bookkeeping business. Impostor syndrome can be a hard thing to overcome at the beginning! As for starting your own RU-vid channel and encouraging other bookkeepers, Morgan recommends starting small with what you know. Love the video, thank you! Is the QBO invoicing a good option for accepting payments from clients?

Hi! Yes, I do like QBO invoicing & payment. That's actually what I've used primarily to invoice clients. It does have a fee (similar to other payment processers), so if you can find a free option, that's always nice (payroll, paper check, bank transfer, Melio). But, the QBO one is super convenient!

If your client doesn’t give you receipts, how do you know what accounts to code their expenses to in their G/L?

Simply ask them and keep a spreadsheet for future reference. In time, you won't need to ask them very often except for the occasional new transaction you come across.

This was really helpful. Do you have any hesitation with LastPass after that last breach they had? Personally, I still use them and i just changed my password but I was wondering if you felt any concern.

I've been using Keeper Security for about 5 years now and they're always improving & adding features and security. Available on an app and website. By the way, #notsponsored hahaha

Do you recommend starting an LLC even if it's only me that's doing my bookkeeping business?

Hey! Morgan does not think it's necessary to have an LLC if you are only doing your own bookkeeping. If you take on clients later on, though, Morgan recommends setting up an LLC. Krista (FinePoints Admin)
