Ali Abdaal I’m really late to do this :(. Just tried the promo code and it didn’t work. Will you be doing this anything soon? I have just started my Active Recall journey.
I watched this video last year and needed to come back to it but I forgot your name but I remembered that you were a doctor, so on a whim, I typed in "notion doctor guy" and you actually came up. I just thought it was funny so I wanted to share.
It's free now! I have been using it for a months now, I love it. When I hear a lecturer/ teacher talking on an online lesson, I just type away , and it is very useful!
I had never heard of notion before but I feel like it is completely in-sink with how my mind works. Also their student deal is amazing, so nice to see a company willing to help out us students. Thanks for the insightful recommendation Ali, I get so excited each time you release new content, my mind goes; "oh yes! what interesting and exciting thing am I going to learn about today!?"
I got it and love it. I”m hooked I want to organize everything in it. I now enjoy studying even more, because it allowed me to go completely digital. It was what was missing so I could completely go digital for everything. Thank you so much Ali. This app has freed me from binders and notebooks.
I started using Notion not too long ago but I'm really liking it. The main thing I am using it for is to create my own database of eye conditions for quick reference (I'm an optometry student) and it is so handy being able to add photos and links and just about anything. Great video!
Been waiting for this video for too long! but the best thing is finding out I'm using the SAME active recall-toggle system... it just shows how much of a good teacher you are! It's been 6 months since I've started watching your videos (in a very difficult moment for my university career, I’m a med school student as well btw) and I feel like my entire life is changing in a very positive way. Thank you so much ali! Keep up the great work!! Saluti dall'italia
I finally understand Notion. It's the digital version of my bullet journal. And the best part is you can copy & paste info and add live links. I just couldn't 'get it' till this video because it seemed like there were too many moving parts and as a student the way others have used it was irrelevant to me. This was really helpful. And your resonance calendar has me intrigued. ^_^
I’ve had Notion for a while, but this has been the best video I’ve watched to make the most of it. Up until now, I’ve been sort of stumbling through it. Thank you!
I just downloaded Notion last night and have been playing around with it. Came on RU-vid to learn some more about how it works and saw a brand new video by one of my favourite RU-vidrs! Thank you so much for the promo code!
Ali you are a life saver. Everyone talks about Cornell but i never liked it's way no matter how productive it is. You just made me want to try it and notion seems ok now. thank you ali
Hey Ali Abdaal! My name is Maria Fernanda I'm a sophomore in Brazil and I just want to say that in the future I want to be a doctor and your videos are helping me to be more organized with all of my studies Thank you😊 Hope to meet you soon 😊
Just to reiterate what someone else said below - the persona plan for Notion is now free, which includes unlimited content blocks, share with other devices and API etc. Incredible find and going to come in handy!
Downloaded Notion after yours and Francesco's videos. It has seriously helped me consolidate studying. I love the database/mind-web feel and definitely feel like there's room to grow into it (I think Francesco mentioned it took him a year to build up his Notion space). Excellent content per usual, thank you for your continuous work
Looks awesome but I cannot live with this from their TOS: "As a condition of your use of the Service, you grant Notion a nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable, sub-licenseable license to access, use, host, cache, store, reproduce, transmit, display, publish, distribute, modify and adapt and create derivative works (either alone or as part of a collective work) from your Content. " Unacceptable especially if you want to use it to organize research into works you intend to copyright and sell. I see no exception to this provision for the paid plans.
Really appreciative that you made this comment mate. I don't know how company's think they're able to get away with this. They make it so that if one uses their product they will keep and use everything you every create on it; you don't own your own work anymore and there's nothing you can do about it. I guess that's how they get away with making it free. We are the product they're selling.
Wow! Thanks for pointing this out. I remember a couple years back when it got leaked that Evernote was peaking at users notes "to better improve the users experience" and everybody lost their minds. They eventually back peddled and made it an opt in/out feature. It looks like Notion is basically saying that they own all of your content and can do as they wish with it...YIKES!
you realise thats true with google applications as well they own any content you create also with apple they own your fingerprint and face structure(if u have face id) and are able to sell it
Your channel became my fav one these days after watching some videos with useful tips! It’s helpful for studying and get to know more effective way for it👍👍😁
Hi Ali, Ihave benefited from your videos very often. I did my bachelor's degree at the age of 45 (part-time alongside my work). I've been working as a quality manager for several years now and I'm thinking about doing my master's degree at 52. Your learning tips encourage me and have often helped me to organize my daily work. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I worked full time as a critical care nurse and finished my Bachelors degree by taking 2 courses a semester as my one night off from mommy and nurse role. I finished my MSN at age 48 in 2001 as a family nurse practitioner while working full time as 3 12 hour shifts every weekend. During the week I had classes and clinical rotations. I’ve recently changed to part time at age 66. If you want it, you can do it no matter your age.
Thanks for doing this video! I've had Notion open for a few months and keep reminding myself to properly check it out. You've basically done that for me! Time to get organizing!
I’ve been using Trello for 6 years for all my web design clients communication and partial content tracking (along w DropBox of course) but in that the platform has not advanced a bit since I started using I am def looking for a great productivity and projects modern, visually attractive platform. Great video! I’ve got a feeling you’re going to do quite well professionally in Life forward sir!
Omg i live hoy your videos are extremely well organized, your tone and speed is just perfect and i love how straightforward you’re about the topics. Big fan
i'm only about to try notion now, but i was a bit lost as to where i should start. this helped immensely in eliminating my fear of starting lmao. i also love how ali literally smiles at specific features, like he really used and enjoyed them
Definitely going to implement Notion in my next semester (summer school). I'm only doing one postgrad law unit but it should give me a good start to figure out what works and what doesn't work. I'm a bit nervous for 2020 - I will be doing 3 overlapping courses; completing Chartered Accounting capstone, a law unit and a specialised insolvency course + working full time. Hoping this helps 😂
Hello from Melbourne, Australia. I have just downloaded this App, Ali. I am so excited to give this a go. I am commencing my DMD studies next month and I am hoping to be more productive than when I was in my undergrad. Thank you for your videos.
Thank you for this. I must compliment you. I am a physician and know how busy my days are. I can’t fathom how you are in your medical training / practice and have the time to do everything you do outside of medicine. And do it successfully! Best wishes to you.
I discovered your channel just yesterday. I want to try Notion app but looks like 500 have already taken the free personal plan. 😅 Hope you give another chance for people like me another time maybe! Love your work 😍
Firstly - I needed thies in my life when I first started my PhD (in my last year now). Thank you, this will be very useful! Secondly, I love you video style - production, the way you explain things etc. Thank you!! :)
probably one of your best videos ever. I have downloaded it using your code and since last night i have just been setting it up and getting used to the interface. It is so good and looks like i will be getting so much work done effectively on this app. Specially as a 4th year Medical Student. Thanks alot
WOW this could have not come at a better time. I just downloaded Notion 2 weeks ago and have been struggling to get the hang of it. Thank you for the video and your amazing content :)!
man i just recently stumbled upon your videos (which i find awesome) looking for some insight into medical school that i will be going to this year in october. thats why i just now bought myself an ipad as a tool for that, and also as a organizational tool for my life, since i finally got my shit together in terms of organization for studying etc., and now i see this review? this app is freaking insane, and its free for students, that is a big plus! im so looking forward to boost my productivity in any way, thanks to your review! thanks alot!
Thanks for your amazing videos, the full range, I first encountered your M1 Mac review, then the stocks and shares and then discovered how multifaceted you were! Keep going, you are very inspirational (and I am in my early 50’s).
I wish there was a way to physically write my notes, I'm an engineering student and my notes need to be handwritten. I will have to keep using notability.
I am a sivil engineering student. And i just bought the Rocketbook for my classes, and it is the best desicion i have made! I have completely switched out all my other notebooks (used to carry at least two each day), and am blown away by how amazing it is. I would really recomend you checking it out if you are in the same place as I was :)
I do use notability as well. Maybe give the Notion support a quick note that you would love a handwritten posibilities (e.g. Apple Pencil). If enough People request the function, maybe they'll implement it in a future update :)
I loved this video and I just recently started medical school! I’m really enjoying it thus far! It’d be awesome if you made a video to show how to use notability with this! Or just other tips/ways to use notion as a medical student
I was just so overwhelmed by all the things notion could do and so trapped in what I knew from onenote that I simply gave up in notion. This was a really good overview, so I think I might actually give it another try. First one of your videos I have seen but def not the last one.
hey ali thank you for pointing me in the direction of the Notion App..really impressed by it. Keep up the Good positive work you have been putting into your channel.
Thank you so much for this video! Have been trying to get my head around Notion for a couple of months and have struggled, this really helped :) Please share more videos on this and how you use it for other things besides studying 💡
Thanks for the app recommendation! I've been wanting something like this for months. Btw, you forgot one really cool feature - they support night mode!
Oh my god! It is what I needed right now !!! Thank you so much and it even got better when I saw that it is free for students 😍 Many greetings from Germany.
Could you please make a video explaining the best MacBook 💻 apps to increase productivity life for College? I want to buy my first MacBook Pro and I will really need some guidelines about this subject. Thank you and congrats for your fabulous RU-vid Channel 👌🏻
@Ali Abdaal thank you for your response. I was thinking about the Pro instead of the Air because beside the College I am starting this video-editing project 😊 So if you can make a review of the Apps for MacBook Pro for increasing College Productivity it will be great 👍 I only trust you in this matter
Revision Knight chill with the bad info. I was a MacBook Air user for a while. The current MBA and MBP are very similar in price. Short Version, pay slightly more for a better display and better cpu. Long version watch comparison videos. The air isn’t priced cheap enough to make sense but when has apples pricing structure ever made sense
Ali, I recently transferred to an Honors College with its own campus and an all-honors curriculum. I have been struggling with the change of climate and rigorous coursework. This application is 100% a game-changer for me. Thank you so much and keep on with the awesome content!
Omg this is so cool, wish they had an app cause I'm an econ student and need to write most of my notes with graphs and equations but I'm definitely gonna check this out
Hello Ali Abdaal, I've discovered you today (I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina) and I am very glad I did. You really have high-quality content and I will recommend you to people, I am currently studying in college and I want to ask you the following question; Do you learn more from books in the physical state or from the digital world?
