I always like to do a round up of all the sewing patterns I've sewn each year - it helps me to understand what I've achieved and, more importantly, what went well and what I enjoyed the most. I've linked all the patterns below and you'll also find links to the full review videos for each below.
It was interesting to look back at 2023 and realise I didn't make as much as I usually do because I did an intensive course earlier in the year which took up a lot of my spare time. I loved doing the course and was happy to put my sewing to one side in order to do it and then it was lovely to pick it back up again after I finished.
I made a total of 11 garments this year (although I'll probably squeeze a couple more out before the end of the year as this was filmed in November!) I made 8 dresses and 3 tops. Although the garments I made were all fairly simple (for me with my level of sewing experience) I had a great deal of fun sewing them thanks to the variety and range of design details included.
My favourite makes were five dresses (I made the first one twice I loved it so much): the Style Arc Belle dress pattern, the Tessuti Lois dress pattern, McCalls 8321 sundress pattern, Simplicity 1609 shift dress pattern and three tops: the Patina blouse by Friday Pattern Company, Simplicity 9707 shirt pattern and the Style Arc Francesca blouse.
You can find all the patterns on our site and some of the fabrics are still available, although not all. If not there are plenty of lovely new fabrics to choose from.

All your makes look so professional, and for you so well! I think your patina blood is my favorite, with the last dress a very close second! Lovely stuff Lucy. Thanks for a great year of inspiration. I’ve returned to dressmaking this year and have made a few items. My absolute favourite is my Maison Fauve Pilar Jacket in red denim (which I still can’t quite believe I made) and I’ve just made a wearable toile of the Patina Blouse which I’ll definitely be making again but much longer in the arms.

I bought the style arc blouse pattern when you first showcased it. Unfortunately, I just haven't had time to make it up. I've also bought the bell dress pattern. I've done so much sewing for my 2 granddaughters, doesn't seem to have been too much time for me. However, I've my plans for January and I intend to crack on and try and get down the pile of fabric I've got in my stash during 2024. Great to see them on you to see how they look.

Thank you for this. I was interested in the Franchesca bouse but it looked so oversized on the model. The shoulders looked too big and the shirt looked awefully big for a shirt that had darts so I decided not to purchase it due to lokking frumpy. At least it would have looked like that on me. Well yours looks very nice and fitted properly so I am going to order it now.

Hello, I'm new to your channel & coming back to sewing. Would you say the shift dress would work for an hourglass shape or would it need some tweaks (maybe making it more A-line). I'm smaller on the top & a little more 'hippy' along with being short waisted.
