Beautiful Old Country Roses. They are not salad plates though. They are more correctly bread and butter plates or side plates. They are used with a cup and saucer to make up a trio for morning or afternoon tea. So the plate would be used to hold a slice of cake or a cookie, or a dainty sandwich to eat with your tea. Traditionally British. The term "bread and butter" derives from the early traditional tea taking years in Britain when a slice of bread and butter was served with tea. We in New Zealand embrace this tradition as do other countries of the British Commonwealth. I only collect trios. Once you know the true use of the plate it becomes addictive to just collect the trios. Your china is beautiful. We all need separate houses just to display our china right? What fun we would all have.
Beautiful collection 😍 I have fallen so in love with the green OCR chintz collection. I wish we were neighbors so we could showcase our collections with one another and have tea parties 😅😅
Totally enjoyed your showcase. I have a small Royal Albert collection…few pieces. That Lady Ascot collection is soooo beautiful. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
I liked Old Country Roses best until I saw Lady Carlyle. I just won a bunch of Castleton Rose at Auction for about $100, 12 4-piece place setting (cup, saucer, salad plates, dinner plates) made in USA
Amazing collection!! I recently bought and staring to collect Royal Alberts. Do you know if the hand painted Bognor collection comes with a teapot or Coffee pot? I only found the tea set for six along with desert plates, sandwich plate and sugar and creamer. Not sure if this set comes with the pots.
Where do y’all get these from? Is there any place where I can get them where it’s affordable but it’s authentic? I literally just got an interest out of nowhere today😭 n I wanna collect some to put as home decor n display like in the video, plz any advice about this topic will help, thank u in advance!!!
You can purchase them online (eBay, etsy, etc.). As for authenticity, make sure the back stamp says Royal Albert. If you want vintage, the back stamp either has "England" or "Made in England".
