Prayers for you , Monty. I’ve tried to eliminate sugar and sticking to a low carb diet. I’m the same age as you and can definitely feel my memory slipping. Take care
Hi Monty! Today is the tomorrow we were worried about yesterday. HE wants us to live ONE day at a time. We enjoy TODAY...for what it is. We can't control tomorrow. Let HIM worry about it. Just trying to encourage you bro!
Hang in there Monty ! As I told you earlier I had a stroke in Philippines one year ago, it’s taking me all that time to slowly get my memory back and I’m still struggling but it will come back. Please hang in there my friend.
I just found your channel today looking at Multicab videos. My family has a history Alzheimers so this video hit home for me. Thank you for sharing your story.
I worked in a nursing home part time while going to college. I had 12 patients to care for and although my understanding of alzheimers was next to nothing, my patients brought out the best in me. Yes, there are gradual changes and they might affect the daily routine and find different ways to help like making notes and color coding do help. Keeping active with RU-vid is a good challenging activity and you have some great stories that we all enjoy. May I suggest Jigsaw puzzles that are kept on a table where you can access whenever you feel the urge and family and friends can participate as well. We all have our fears of illness..........there are so many that care and love you and if you believe in God, he's listening and if and when you need to talk, reach out and embrace the power of his love.
I worked many an Alzheimers in my career as a CNA. The brain shrinks from Alzheimers, thus memory storage becomes smaller and smaller, . But certain areas of the brain are larger than others, so memories stored there are the last to go. Music storage is one pf the largest. Thats why some cant remeber what they had for lunch, but can sing an old song word for word. One time working on an Azhiemers unit, evening shift, we were short staffed, I was alone. Come dinner I am passing trays & seating residents. As you probably know Alzhiemers tend to wander, just shuffle around all over the place. So I would get one seated and as soon as i turned around they were up doing the Alzheimers shuffle. I tended to sing while i worked, and once I was singing an old song, "Daisy" and I notice the patients close to me sat down and started to sing with me. So i started to sing loudly, and everybody began singing along, After that I learned old sons, and come dinner I would start singing loudly as I seated and passed trays.Everyone stayed seated and just sang along. Acutually that was the most pleasant part of the shift, it was fun... Blah Blah Blah... DAISY DAISY GIVE ME YOUR ANSWER DO, IM HALF CRAZY ALL FOR THE LOVE YOU"
I'm feeling for you mate, I'm 72 and my problems are different from yours but I'm dealing with a couple of health issues that keep me housebound, alone here after loosing the love of my life 8 years ago. Wishing I was living in Asia as I was in my 20’s. Keep making the videos, this was encouraging !
So sorry to hear of your troubles. You worked hard all your life. Had some really tough breaks throughout. You went to the Philippines to start a new life. You have been blessed with a beautiful wife and child. I can only hope and wish for you a good quality of life for you and many more years to enjoy it. Try to keep your chin up and stay positive! You have a lot of people pulling for you Monty. I count myself as one! I always look forward to your next video.

We all pray that it would happen so quick. you are a nice person down to earth. everything will be ok. enjoy your family especially your cute and adorable daughter. she's growing fast. Be strong. I lost my maternal Grandmother at 87, to Alzheimers, and the thought of that happening to me isn’t a pleasant thought 😲 Prayers for you, always, Monty 🙏
Thank you for sharing your trials and tribulations of your Alzheimer fear. Hold onto your family and faith. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
Completely understand Monty. I’m only 51 and I forget a lot already. Just take care of yourself and remember your family loves you. Even if you have to write it on a sticky note on the refrigerator
Yeah, that’s funny. I used to write notes, but then I would forget the notes when I have to go shopping or whatever. Now I put a note in my phone since I always have my phone with me. I hope all is well with you Rusty 😊
Monty, I’d like to add your wife reading as well. She have to spend time to go thru these changes & it’s not easy! It help her cope & understand w/o judging you. Helps to grow more closer, differences aside @ forgiveness. It all makes life easier each day! See videos on people testimonies how to get thru. You’ll be surprised how others go thru. Sharing to others You will have an idea to add to your list. It takes time but worth trying. It may not be worst than you think! Take charge of your life & you owe it to yourself all your life working for others! It’s time your families esp your wife step in & hold you ( as she always was) together! Again, Aragel can get thru w/ you. As always, my contribution is prayers. It’s very strong @ powerful!! Full Faith & Trust in God. He’s always w/ you & Aragel & Faith! Good luck! Btw there’s a research in UK treating Alzheimer’s, Dementia & addicts. No surgery but scanning your brain, doctors works thru an instrument w/meds to dissolve it causing the blockage. Hope in research for cures! Our families has cancer. Thanks for your video & the braveness in coming out.😊. TC
Praying for your health esp against alzheimer. Your relationship to your wife nd kid should b your joy. And dont forget God is in control of everything nd He loves you nd your family. God is good!
May GOD bless you and your family. I remember reading about King David, whom GOD so loved. In his later years, one of his sons made a move to take over the kingdom. It was told to Bathsheba ( David’s wife and the mother of Solomon), that David’s son by another wife was taking over the kingdom and David didn’t even know what was happening. I would encourage you and your wife to read the story and particularly the part about Bathsheba coming to David and her attitude towards David. She tells David what is going on and she is not sure David can remember that he had promised earlier that her son would be king after him. So David was apparently having trouble with memory loss also. David did remember the promise and moved right away to turn the kingdom over to Solomon while he still could remember. The way Bathsheba conducted herself is forever documented ( to her great honor). I offer this in hopes that the story may speak to you and your wife as you look to the future. May GOD be with you and keep you all - Glynn
What helped my mom until she passed at 91 and was at home and coping well, was 4 supplements, and a simple diet change. Monty, this can be beneficial to uou but also preventive measure for your wife and doughters. So, here it goes: Horse tail herb in capsules, or herbal tea CoQ10 enzyme Miltiminerals and vitamins, B complex vitamin. Food: walnuts, lots of green veggies and carrots, fruits (also berries of all sorts), carrot juice. No fried foods, cook your fish and chicken in water with veggies and some herbal spices. Lots of fluids, water, juices, coconut milk, buko water. That is it, simple but regularly taken. God bless, and keep interacting, your videos are really appreciated. Greetings to you Monty, to your wife Aragel and to your lovely daughter Faith . God Bless
Monty, Brother you have been through a lot. You are fortunate to have a loving wife and to live in a good place. My mother recently was scammed out of a large sum of money, only after that did I realize how badly she had deteriorated at 84. She now has moved in with a family member and she has lost all confidence. In going through her finances, I was amazed at the amount of money that she was donating. Close to $600 a month to charities. Now that we have shut down her bank accounts her mailbox is full of letters,"come back, we need you! Dont let us down. They may be charities with good ends but they are parasites. Anyone with an elderly relative should look into it. In your case Monty, I would try to do puzzles, crosswords anything to keep your mind active. The physical stuff you are limited in. God Bless you guys.
Yeah, my grandmother was worst. She had churches coming by every week, they needed a new parking lots, new pews etc. She was buying a stairway to Heaven. She went to about half a million before my aunt figured out what was going on. I’m not saying it’s bad to help a church but at the same time some folks take advantage of
Hello Monty, sorry to hear about it. But it’s not the end. Fear should not control you. We all go thru aging but we can change to live longer & have quality life. For Argyle & Faith-your families! Go see a doctor to assessed your case. This way you know how to deal daily. It’s worth getting an expertise & not have to go thru alone. Even you have histones doesn’t mean you can’t live longer . Your mom has proved it. She did her best to live to the fullest aging over 90. Rest maybe they didn’t have the desire to live long.Once you know what doctor has assessed or even you have to spend money, health is wealth. You can change by exercising slowly, eating a healthy @diet. Talk to friends for coffee . Check out for a “ Support Group” or maybe you’d like to start & help others too. Then its added to more videos!!! Only you can change yourself! It’s never too late. We all have a purpose in Life. Pray w/ Aragel, Faith every night. This will give you sense of direction @ peace not fears.
I have seen many with lost of memory it’s tuff and difficult to see . But remember you have people who understand and just hang in there . Remember the good times 😊 and you know there’s many . Take care Monty 😊
Monty you are amazing and inspirational. Love the Lord Jesus, your wife, your daughter and your family and friends. You are all in my thoughts and prayers
Hey Monty.. I will be praying for you and your family..I’m from Orlando as well.. I want to help you guys out from time to time.. but I want to make you will get it.. I’m going to research it on how to do it safely.. I will let you know..best wishes to you and family.
I think diet is a key. I felt great when I was on the carnivore diet but it’s so damn constipating it’s not worth it damn near had to go to the hospital three times to poop cut out the carbs and sugar would be my suggestion, but still eat vegetables And fruit I didn’t know the name of your studio L Tampa that’s funny.
Yesss sir : keep up with your Notes 💕Write down your thoughts esp questions You will be fine staying positive 🙏 Thank you for your video KEEP doing 🗣️🗣️😍
I can definitely feel what You say. Did You figure out about a locking refrigerator? Or You screw a hinge plate with a keyed or combo lock. I would put two different keyed locks.
My grandmother died from Alzheimer’s and I do worry about that too. My memory is failing too. I wouldn’t have anyone to take care of me either and nursing homes are awful. I don’t think I could put up with Tampa it’s mean imho. Best wishes Monty you seem like a great guy with a good heart.
Thank you very much living by faith. I apologize I don’t know your name. I hope you don’t end up in some nursing home. Before I got remarried to Aragel. My daughter had told me since I liked the Philippines. She would send me here and pay somebody to take care of me. It would be so much cheaper than the US.
It doesn’t get easier Monty, but you just lived every day that passes the best way you can and enjoy the time you have with your family. Thank you God for the blessing you have provided for Monty and his family.
your wife has to learn all the things you do especially paying bills even you continue doing so in the event you can no longer do so. She has to know how to keep Faith’s SS money safe.OR can you assign Paul or trusted friend .
I can relate to your story, Monty. My father had Alzheimer and so did both his parents. I'm terrified that I might get it as well. I have no children, no wife anymore and no siblings, so I'm worried who's going to manage my finances when I'm no longer capable to.
I’ve had a stroke and it does take a little of your short term memory don’t sweat that keep your mind working as much as possible that will definitely help
It’s a tragic situation to come down with. I feel my memory loss at 59 but you had a stroke on top of that helps speed things up possibly. I am praying for you
There was a study that determine if want to slow the progression of dementia you start with a healthy low carb diet where your total intake is less than 20 net carbs a day. My suggestion to anyone considering doing a low carb diet is to ease your way into it and make it a lifestyle. You can't take a day off once you get into ketosis and you need to monitor your food intake.
Alzhiemers can be a bad thing. I am 67 and can remember words to songs I have not heard for years but sometimes wonder what I went into a room for. I play Mahjong tiles and a couple other games that are suppose to help you keep your mind working but I still get oldtimers and sometimers haha. I write notes for myself cause if I don't I sometimes forget what I was thinking I need to do or get. I just take one day at a time and see where the road goes.
Hey Monty! Im 64 and my mom had it too and died at 85 My dads Mom had it too..Hopefully its a normal loss for age.. I thought I was getting it too and started taking guitar lessons and smoke a little weed now and then and not so worried anymore. They say learn to play an instrument
My left hand doesn’t work good after the stroke. I bought a small weight and use it to work out. Thank you very much for watching Anthony. I hope all is well with you now. 😊
Have you ever considered the carnivore diet? Many anecdotes on how effective this way of eating is on many health conditions, especially cognition issues.
My advice to wife Ariel is more love ,patience understanding nd caring for Monty as you vowed to God when u married him. Praying for more love nd healimg in your family. Never give up. God is good nd He is the healer of Monty.
Monty , 1) be active, 2) stimulate your brain I.e. learn language or music instrument and 3) see doctor who may have medication to slow its development- don’t be pessimistic
A person's health is their greatest asset, and sadly that is not recognized early enough. It isn't unusual for people with significant strokes to have memory problems and sometimes even dementia. To my understanding the post-stroke result is more of a vascular disease problem than Alzheimer's, although over time those two separate causes may both occur together. What can you do? Live as healthy as possible at this point and take your medications. Don't smoke and get good sleep.
All joking aside, Monte, please don't underestimate your 4-year-old daughter's ability to take in your wisdom, character and example of a real man, the kind of man she should look for in a husband someday, of course she won't recognize that, but you are making a gigantic impact on what she will look for in a man, especially because you are such a loving, caring, patient, loyal, friendly, helpful, smart, confident, masculine, brave, determined guy, she is going to look for those character traits for the man in her life
I don’t think I’m all about it, but I do try to be a good father. My older daughters I took out on dates when they got to be there young teens. I would get dressed up and have them get dressed up. I would walk them to the car. I would open the door for them. Take them to dinner movie and show them how they should be treated by a man.
There is a scientist here on RU-vid named Rhonda Patrick who says that taking 4-6 grams of a good quality krill oil (not fish oil). Also, look into nootropics such as Monafadil.
I went on Medicare three years ago at 65. I was assigned a doctor and started regular visits. It was strange for me because it was the first time I had seen a doctor in 15 years. He was surprised that I had no major issues. I rarely eat out and don't eat much red meat. Chicken, fish, lots of fruits, vegetables, and nuts are my main diet. Rice and snacks in moderation. My mother is 92, and I've noticed that she's getting forgetful also. It's nice that you have your daughter to lift your spirits. Stay focused on your diet and exercise. Keep the faith, Monty.👍🏽🏝🇵🇭
Thank you so much for the great advice. I’m glad your mother is still doing well and healthy. my biological dad just died at 93 . I hope all is well over there. 😊👍🏻
Strokes can do that. Things can get better. There are other dementias as well. Vascular dementia. Taking notes and knowing the brain does slow down with age and damage. My grandma lived to 99 and a half! She lived longer than both her parents age combined! Monte..you did not come with any expiration date and you edit videos? That sounds like a brain still working!
Hey Monty, I understand where you're coming from. My family history is very similar to yourself. I find myself in the same situation. It frustrates me to the point where I get angry. For myself I have found the more relaxed I am the better my memory is. When I'm hurrying about or stressed over a particular matter is when the memory tends to fail. I have changed my diet and began exercising with walks biking and swimming. One of these activities 2 to 3 times a week. This seems to have helped. I have had conversations with my physician who advised me to try and limit the stresses in my life.(Easier said than done). I am furtinate to have good health insurance that will cover me should I decline. I'm lucky to have met and married a lovely girl who understands and loves me. Together we live for today and in God we trust. Best wishes to you and your family😃
and now they call Alzheimer's type 3 diabeties, cut out/ down on processed sugars and starches....Philippines a good place to get into eating more and more veggies on a daily basis...
Mr. Monty, Not sure if it's Alzheimer's are not, But I'm the same way and always been this way. I can be making a video are talking to someone and go blank as all-get-out. When it comes to Names, when I'm making a video I'll just got blank. Most people think I'm just an uneducated dumbass because I've learn to play it off. 😂 It's very very aggravating and like I said I've been like this all my life and life was a struggle for me to do the jobs I did but I managed to make it.
You need to write ur Social Security number on note book and important information and keep those some where. And if something happen That you got worst ur wife has information everything, take care my friend
I mean dieing isn't pretty, my grandmother now barely talks is just a shell of their former self, same as my grandfather before he passed. they were in situations where they wouldn't really go anywhere or do anything and I think modern america lends itself to that. at least you got to the phillipines before you died.
Amen Benton i’m very happy with a new chapter of my life with my little family here. I’m glad that I’m able to still get around and visit with my friends, etc.
Not sure how much my brain is slipping , but my body sure has gone to hell ! lol I try not to over analyze. It is what it is. From what little I've observed , your wife seems to have the personality to reasonably handle your situation. Try and work out a plan with her. Keep doin RU-vid and making that brain work ! Forget Bisaya. Hell, I can't even pronounce it, let alone learn it. haha You sure sound like you got it together in your videos ! Take care :)
@@crewfamilyphilippines also remember just because you think you have alzheimers does mean you have it , it could be that you are worried about having it , if I were you go and seek a professional diagnosis. That way if you do have it they can help treat it. But try to get evidence.
Praying for you Monte. Look for videos on what to do if you think you or a loved one has Alzheimer's. You might learn some things that might help you. You can stop and start the video so you can take notes.
Both my mother and sister had Alzheimers for four years before dying of it at the age of 86. For me it was a very helpless, hopeless and frustrating feeling seeing that there was a light on, but nobody home. My heart goes out to those whose family members suffer the same fate Keep walking as as much as you can, my friend. Keep those great videos coming.
I never would have guessed you were 62. I would say just prepare for the end, friend. I'm 59 but I'm 'fully paid up' with Jesus (Believer in Christ as my Lord and Savior) so I don't worry about what might happen to me now or in a few years. I think about possibilities but it does no good to worry as I feel that might even hasten your condition. Some people don't go for religion or prayer and I feel for them because if I was ill, I'd at least want SOME hope and pray that the Lord would grant me a swift, merciful death... not a long, lingering, suffering one. If not that, hopefully I'll be such a fool for Christ that instead of seeing folks who aren't there or long dead, I'll say "Hey, do you guys see Jesus standing over there in the corner smiling?" while everyone is looking at me like... yeah, he's lost his cotton-picking mind. 🤣
@@crewfamilyphilippines Haha! No brother. Nothing wrong with not "looking your age" up or down. But seriously, try to keep a positive frame of mind and clear soul. That's the best hedge because there are folks who get Alzheimers but experience it in a different way. I think most of the folks who end up scared or schizo is because they trained their mind that way for years, so when it finally hits... they just default to conditioning. For me, if my only conditioning is Jesus Christ and that's all I know, my hope is even if I can't remember my own name, I'll remember I'm a child of God. I've seen happy people like that as well with diminished brain capacity at old age. So surround yourself with those folks, especially when you realize those folks will be the ones who will stick by you when YT fades away if it comes. My Christ have Mercy on whom He will have Mercy. Amen.
Get your daughter to throw ping-pong balls at you as fast as she can . By swiping at them you can create new neural-links . It may take awhile but it could be great-fun and you have nothing to lose. Just before sleep , thank the-universe/ God for your Improving-health , do the-same immediately on first-awaking , it does work . Good luck my friend . Dave nz
