I agree with your comments with max’s show jumping. You rode so upright and tried really hard, his brain wasn’t on the job. Lovely end to the season though, can’t wait for next season for sure

What works for me.... for what its worth... if my horse is a bit strong and I need to go medium and don't want him to break to canter, I really sit up and exhale with single rein half halts to keep him focused. When I was showing reining horses, we have to do a long backup. To get the horses straight we taught them to back crocked, in circles all sorts of things. The theory was if we couldn't back them crocked we couldn't be certain to back them straight. Interesting to see how far your leg goes back to signal back up? I have always closed my fist and closed my legs at the girth so the backup starts with a forward, into the bit, and then back... Love your VLOGS

Just wonderful Family spirit .. All of you are such a lovely family and team.. Your heart Cœur /Rage is so big and bold i'd say work on that inner meditation before showjumping and to be just that bit more gentle and graceful in dressage with less aggressive transitions and keeping a slower but more powerful step and impulsion and in the Show Jumping really feeling the lines curves and shapes and visualisation taking that bit more time to go within before the showjumping too cause everything is TiP ToP otherwise .. what fantastic horses you have produced BravO .. If i was a young rider again i would certainly want to be like you..

Sorry Ashley, one other thing we trained in the back up and the reining horses back a long distance and fast... is we trained the back up as one step stop, then one step stop, then one step and then we just shortened the asking time in between so it was continuous.. We didnt say back and then nothing else until they were done... love your rides....

Hey Ashley! I know your dad picks on you for being a 4 faulter, but i wanted to give you a tip that helped me. In the warmup trot your fences, at least the last couple you jump. It'll get your horse concentrating on where their feet are and help with the excitability! Hope this helps!

I’m sorry I’m so late for this vlog but just finished watching it! And Max, Kato and you did absolutely amazing! The dressage was fantastic, Max definitely deserved at least a 32 max, and Kato did brilliantly as per usual! In the show-jumping, you weren’t as strong but yet still made it consistent, and the only thing wrong was nerves and the rhythm. But you made up for that in the XC, and everyone did awesome!

Absolutely loved this! Massive well done 👏🏻

Well done you are so brave, I know I wouldn’t do it, show jumping was my thing cross country terrifies me lol. Maybe if you can go to some winter show jumping to strengthen that phase, I think it’s more your nerves (I always had them), maybe doing just a few show jumping classes (indoors) may help as you only have that to worry about, good luck with winter training look forward to watching you next season 💖
