I agree that the music is probably the best gaming soundtrack of all time. Also agree that the story is actually really good, especially in the back half. It has the potential of the main line games if they ever added on to it in a sequel. Im beyond excited. March cant come fast enough. Ill also say, the class grinding is a bit alleviated due to the fact you still get class xp when you fight in your skell. So a lot of times when my skills reset due to a class change, it wasnt as bad because i was generally doing combat in my skell
Hiroyuki Sawano is a GOATed composer, he's well known for his soundtracks in mech anime which makes a lot of sense lol. He's also done work for one of the most popular anime of all time, Attack on Titan as well as lots of other good shows. I really hope we see him in a XCX sequel!!!
I love Xenoblade X! My favorite in the series personally. But best temper expectations is my advice. The game is 70% exploration. The story is good. But the game doesn't follow a consistent narrative like the mainline trilogy. So I'd recommend focusing on exploring and uncovering mysteries. And probably have a little notebook to note story points. There will be long moments between main story points where the story will take a backseat. So its good to have some small notes to remind yourself of story beats that might get lost in the vast world of X. That said, the game is frickin beautiful 😊
They need to let players choose if they want to disable the flying skell soundtrack or not. I enjoyed flying in all the zones but couldn't stand to have the flying skell soundtrack always playing. Took away from the rest of the games soundtrack when that's all you hear for the later half of the game
Open world is the content that's the best description of XBX I've heard in 10 years. You can run around the world, drive around and fly AND always find new details and possible hidden stuff all over.
I cannot wait! I beat the original but wasn't able to really engage more with the post game context due to how overwhelming it was. This time I plan to take my time through the story and missions, making sure to max out my classes so I can get the knife sniper combo again! Shoot maybe even take a new approach
What i loved about this game was just trying to reach thise crazy high area without the flying module. Like spending hours platforming up the roots to get to the telethia reamsting spot or getting to the gigantic overhang in the starting area really early.
The comparison with Elden Ring is an apt one. Both of them are special in how much the exploration of the world is part of the game experience, rather than just a way of getting from place A to place B.
Yeah I agree and I think they excel in executing on that idea in different ways. Xenoblade X is more busy and with it's world map feels like you are going through the entire map with a fine tooth comb and making use of the info available to you as part of Blade, you feel like humanity trying to uncover about the world and establish a new home, while witnessing the world change a lot throughout the game whereas in Elden Ring the focus is moreso on blind discovery and stumbling upon secrets
Think the music was fine but meaby this is a TV think where it works on some TV:s but not others. But yeah if it is an issue for some people it's always good if they fix it. Regarding the limb problem, you can just target the limb you want to destroy. There are also Skell weapons that target all enemies limbs at once if you really want to farm enemy parts so think this is more an issue of not knowing enough about how the game works. Also you can equip skills from mastered classes so once again this might be a problem with not knowing how the game works. So yeah I would suggest watching some guides like things a wish I knew or guides about the battle system or guides on how to farm skell parts or how the frontier naw system works etc. It can makes the game a lot more enjoyable. For me it was like a difference where I couldn't afford to fix my Skell to getting the best Skells in the game and taking down every single superboss.
Xenoblade Chronicles X was my first Xenoblade game and I still haven't finished it because I don't like the gameplay and they could simply make it so that it's easier to win battles and no more riding they'll be great
Well 1. If there is no plan for a sequel then give XCXDE a solid ending 2. Balance out the skells. 3.buff all the party members in some way, especially Hope who I hear is the worst one combatwise. 4. Fix the more problematic story elements. 5. Give us the muscle and breast size changer like in the Japanese version.
I love XCX but it is a deeply flawed game. Some of my personal biggest issues stem from skells. They’re way too expensive and the insurance system is very unfriendly to players. The other thing is once you get good at the game, ground combat far surpassed skell combat. They need to balance the game better. I would hate to see busted builds get destroyed in ground combat, but I would like to see them buff skells big time.
@ that’s how they are for sure, but the mechs are a huge draw. I never played a xenoblade game before X and it’s what drew me to the series. To have them be borderline useless in combat and an insane grind to upkeep and upgrade is not the ideal for skells in this game.
I never had an issue with the Skell insurance. Granted I didn’t exactly go tyrant hunting, but keeping up with the probe system earned enough money to set me up for the whole story.
Since the servers were taken down Wii U it’s impossible I think… the way I was able to do it. Multiple times was a grinder, friendly blade medals every day (you find three random people that are not the normal NPCs) then whenever The to raid bosses come out I just farm those after that with the awards you get depending on how well you did you trade the points you got for the materials in the main terminal in your quarters. That’s how I was able to get both the Ares 70 and the Ares 90 (I may or may not have done this a lot because I always restarted my character because I liked replaying the story a lot lol)
I would venture to say that this is definitely not the worst xenoblade game. It is a huge open world game. It looks great. MECHS. Interesting story. Great music. On the other hand you have 3, chapter 5 was great, but the story is just not great (is it a simulation or not, i can't tell) and the bosses weren't very good.
@ fair enough. The combat is really complicated and poorly explained but really fun when you get it. Also, the fanservice is appalling. Still my favorite of the Xenoblades anyway
