This is now my favorite video on the internet! Your enthusiasm is just so infectious, you've made me ten times more excited about my first acoustic bass, which I just ordered last nite, and which was also initially not what I wanted to purchase-but now, I can't wait! And has anyone ever told you that you look very much like PJ Harvey!? It's synchronicity, really, because I was just listening to her last nite, too!
Loved this video (looking into my first acoustic bass and this helped a lot) and also the extended piece you played. Very evocative, made me imagine serene places far away. Thank you.
I’m so happy for you. I hope you enjoy it. The wood grain is beautiful. Especially, when you showed the sides of the bass, the wood appeared to really shimmer. It sounded excellent also.
Partly inspired by your video, I recently picked up one of these Ibanez acoustic basses (this exact model) and I love to play it! It plays really well (even though it is harder to play than an electric) and I love to just sit down and practice without having to plug anything in. The sound is absolutely inspiring. Acoustic bassed definitely need more love! Not to mention what fun it would be to send it through some pedals and than loop it. Cheers!
I have had one for a couple of years now , fantastic value for money , the strings are carbon coated slightly dull but after a while changed them for Phos bronze , what a diff , lovely guitar , love playing it, does your technique a real workout .
That's a very nice acoustic bass, looked great loved the black strings made the bass stand out more, very nice jam piece, great loop and the melody is another cici master piece, well done cici, very enjoyable demo video 😁💯🤘
Neato. One fun trick you can use to add some new sounds to an acoustic bass is to use a felt-covered pic. They can be hard to find, but they give you the same volume and precision as pick, while removing a lot of the harsh, plastic, "picky" attack that can happen with acoustic/electric-acoustic instruments. Congrats on the Dave Abruze(sp?) gig too! Cheers! \m/
Lovely sounding bass. Loved the loop and melodies. Jammed along playing my electric unplugged - after a stressful afternoon it was the perfect remedy. Thanks for the music.
The wood on that bass looks stunning!! Those black strings are cool also. That thing sure does resonate, things were vibrating about my computer desk as you played! Very nice playing Miss Cici and a very melodic composition. Well done! 🤘 The picture with you in the box it came in is hilarious!! 🤣
Cici, this sound amazing! I recently purchased this bass, and will be playing a gig with it in an acoustic trio next week: what was your signal chain? I was gonna use a preamp/DI straight into the PA, but would love to hear what you ran for this!
Wow, that's got to be one happy bass guitar, it's qualities are not wasted on you, it's got a lovely rich full tone, what a jewel which is fitting, being that you are a treasure. Bless you with love and joy 💖 xx
Lol your enthusiasm had me smiling with you😁. Good on you, hope you enjoy it for many years. Is there an acoustic duet with Dave in our future🤞? Edit: Oh yeah... I loved the dreamy song as well😉
LMAO my special connection was a Squier modified 70s jazz. I just randomly picked it up and could never let it go after that. An example of the trouble you can get in when waiting for family members to finish what they're doing
Iv been thinking of switching from guitar to bass … I want a six string tho… I picked one up the other day and played it the same way I played guitar and I fell in love with the lower tone. Like it matches my style better. I like to hypnotize people when I play and make them zone out. I think a bass would intensify the effect. I’m gonna subscribe and keep in touch with you. Just on the way you played. I think we could mesh in the future.
That was really beautiful Cici. Thank you. Beautiful acoustic bass also. Can you please tell me what amp you played this through? This beautiful piece put me in a mellow as jello mood.
I need another instrument. I'm a guitar player and bassist. I recently moved from Dallas, TX to Colorado Springs and refused to bring any instruments. I went to the local GC recently and they had this small travel bass from Mitchell for $135 that I couldn't put down, the Ibanez PNB14E and I think another full-scale acoustic bass from Mitchell. I'm a sucker for Ibanez as well so I may have to order one of these online
Great tone - all mahogany always produces. Very good looking bass - has a similar look to a lot of Eastman acoustics. Is it an open grain or very light satin finish?
Thank you so much! :) I’m not sure what the strings are on this bass as they just came with the bass, but they’re roundwound. I use D’Addario 95-40s otherwise :)
