How did you drive all that way and “not” go to Lake Tahoe?

Man you completely missed what Reno is totally about. Its not the casinos, thats more like a Vegas thing. I would say Reno is more for outdoor adventures since its close to alot of beautiful areas. Lots of scenery, hiking trails, hotsprings and Lake Tahoe is like 45 minutes away.

1. Come back after covid-19 2. Come in summer 3. Stay away from downtown

Reno is awesome & fun! You just need to go at the right time, I recommend around 30 years ago.

Gonna hop on the "locals avoid downtown" also don't talk to people down there, its ensuring you get harassed.

Come back during Hot August Nights, Street Vibrations, Rib Cook Off, Italian Festival, or any other non-normal day.

Next time add a couple of days to check out Lake Tahoe and also Virginia City. Tahoe is a natural beauty, and Virginia City has a lot of great old buildings and shops that would make for some pretty cool video. It's an easy flight from Vegas if you want to skip that drive. Loving your videos!!!

As a local to the Reno area I gotta say, I'm sorry you even went downtown. It's literally the worst part of the city. Locals tend to avoid it unless they're going to the casinos, or work there. Come back after covid, and explore the areas away from downtown and you'll likely have a much better experience. Also, the Peppermill is definitely the nicest of the casinos.

I missed Reno so much. Next time try "Grand Sierra Resort". I always stay there. It's the best and busiest.

I grew up in Vegas and moved to Reno for the "small town" college experience and trust me there are layers to Reno you can't see in 2 days! Try visiting again post pandemic.

I’ve lived in Reno for my whole life and have probably been downtown for about 10 minutes. Except when we go to the ball park. It’s not what makes Reno nice.

Since I’m from northern Cali, my family would go to Reno to gamble before the growth of Indian Casinos. I typically stay at the pepper mill or Atlantis and avoid downtown Reno.

Reno is an amazing place to come during the summer time but sadly this damn pandemic is messing everything up, but my city(Reno) is an amazing place to visit when this whole pandemic is over

Reno can’t touch Vegas in any way, HOWEVER, the mountains, Truckee River, and the outdoor opportunities are pretty great.

I have to clarify something you said in this video. The Row (Eldorado, Silver Legacy, Circus Circus) are all connected, but it's the SECOND FLOOR, not under ground. Oh, and the Peppermill is south of downtown.

I'd recommend Reno: when there's not a freaking epidemic.... summer (for tahoe especially)..... and not to just hang out in downtown (its pretty much a shithole)

Why didn't you book a room on Fremont St, and complain it doesn't have the same vibe as the Strip? You're from Tonopah and your vacation to see what's shakin' in Pahrump or Hawthorne?? Were you disappointed in Reno because it doesn't have as many homeless as Vegas, or a N. Las Vegas area??

I moved to Reno from a beautiful town in California seven years ago and my husband and I love it here!!! I’ve been in a casino MAYBE three times to eat at restaurants, it’s just not what Reno is about anymore. First mistake was not staying at GSR...I hate that dirty strip in downtown. Second, we have the most amazing events and there is something exciting happening every weekend for months, especially during the summer. Summer is hands down my favorite time here, and we never had things like this to do in California. Our kids have so much more to do and be involved in here. Sadly, due to covid it’s all been cancelled. And our outdoor activities are year-round. Lake Tahoe is a gem and only thirty minutes away. It’s worth the short drive, so next time rent a car and check it out.

If you are staying in Reno DONT stay at Silver Legacy. It's like the sleaziest of all the casino/resorts. Stay at Peppermill, GSR or Atlantis

I watched the blog on Reno, Nevada and it was very upsetting to me that you can cut down our beautiful City and State of Nevada. Reno has its own character and is a really beautiful city. We have Lake Tahoe ,skiing and so much more. Reno Casino’s are hurting right now and your suppose to be promoting casinos in Nevada.

Damn, You got reno all wrong man. What makes this the place to be is the work/party life, clubs, and outdoors activites. Come during the fall, play a round of golf, rent a car, hit Lake Tahoe and get drone footage. visit Virginia City for a beer and old western shootout show. Take a trip up mount rose or slide mtn for some beautiful views or go snowboarding/skiing or mountain biking.... it really is everything around reno that makes it fun.

Re: at the beginning of the vid where you have difficulty/confusing getting out of casino to get to Reno Arch sign....that’s the strategy of any casino. They don’t want to make it easy for you to leave the casino.

Circus Circus looked closed because after an explosion in the UNR dorms the college kids moved into the tower as dorms. Next GSR is by far the best casino in town. I wish we could redo this video when lockdown wasn't going on, I could show you what makes Reno amazing. Reno is completely different from Vegas. We are an Ex-casion town that has moved on.

When I visited Reno, I had friends who lived there. We only went to the Peppermill and it was awesome. Then we went to Tahoe and Virginia City which was the best trip of my life. We camped in the deep woods of Tahoe, had an encounter with a huge brown bear who ate up most of our food, trampled down our tents and chased us till we ran into our truck, and then the Rescue guys came and chased him away. It was so much more fun than boring Reno!!

You need to keep in mind that Reno is very different from Vegas. I was born and raised in Reno, and have been to Vegas several times. The biggest difference is that Northern Nevada is more for outdoor activities. Others have mentioned to come back in summer and I agree. Reno council has been trying to revitalize downtown, still a place to avoid for the time being.

I really like how you edit your video's Pompsie. The music is always perfect to go with what is being shown, the transitions are smooth, you popping in and out with info is great. They are very interesting to watch. I know video editing takes a lot of time and yours always come out so good.

Peppermill is legit and so is Atlantis. Im from California and I visit Reno like 20 times a year and those two casinos are my go to. I went to downtown reno at night one time and I have no desire to go back. Kinda sketchy and alot of homeless people dwelling. I've heard people say downtown reno is like downtown vegas! 😂 Yeah right more like if downtown vegas took a dump. Try going to GSR there locals trash there own parking lot with tons of trash and there's alot of armed security walking around the casino. Reno is trash compared to vegas. But Peppermill and Atlantis is legit.

30 year Reno Resident here Pompsie. So weird to see you 'filming' inside Legacy, Eldo, Circus...because i've performed in all those Casinos. I'm a drummer singer. moved to Reno from Sac...in 1990...joining a Rod Stewart Tribute that was popular at the time. have played in many other bands and tributes since; ie - Tom Petty, Bad Company, Eagles, the list goes on. some really good bands. but...i'm perhaps retiring. Covid...knocked the shit out of the Music industry...and i'm 60 and 1/2 now. Guessing you probably weren't even born when i 'moved' to Reno in '90...at age 30. Lol!...anyway...cool vids. but wanted to tell you that...the 'Actual' OLD Reno Sign...is a couple blocks Over...from the 'newer' ( lamer?) one...they put up years ago, there on Virginia ( where the old one used to be) It's over on Lake St. in front of the old 'Sienna' hotel..( now, the 'Renaissance'. Ha! i even used to play and work there too...in 2007) But here's the biggest thing that'll you'll appreciate! Dude...I'm a Vegas Native. my Family moved there in 1964 ( i was 4) and i grew up in 60's...early 70's Vegas! Keep your cool vids comin'. they are appreciated. you seem like a pretty cool dude. Reno native here. If you come for the casinos, art and downtown you'll most likely be disappointed. It's a small, ghetto, dirty version of Vegas. The portion of this video was very mild compared to what can normally be expected downtown, specially if you come during season (not winter). The art is way out of place and in reality is just a way the local politicians launder money. The homeless and the gangs have completely taken over downtown and the city basically refuses to do anything about it. All of the casinos will have Italian elements because all of the owners are Italian. The mob never really left Reno like in Vegas. The Peppermill being the "nice" place is just surface level to drag in first time visitors. It's overpriced, the service sucks, and the food sucks. The nicer overall place is the Atlantis. You can have fun in Reno if you come and use it as a hub for outdoor adventuring. IE don't spend a ton of time actually in Reno.

OK, as a Reno Resident since 2006, and before that a CA native I moved to Reno because I could afford to buy a house here whereas I couldn't afford a house in my hometown. Today, that no longer excists. Reno housing is Very Expensive.... Reno has EVERYTHING anyone would ever need or want, Subsequently everyone else realized that and followed my lead. With tech companies such as TESLA, AMAZON, and many other companies relocating to Reno, the Herds from Cali and around the world have followed. Reno is no longer a little city, or a city based around Gambling. .. On that note you mentioned the itallion influence perception.. You stayed at "The Row".. Circus Circus, Silver Legacy, & The Eldorado are owned the the Carrano Family .. Yes same family as Gina Carrano UFC STAR.. If you were "In the know" you would have stayed at "Grand Sierra Resort" which is the best Reno has to offer. In the 1980's the "Row" was so crowded with tourist's that the streets were crowded, But the pollititions in CA. realized how much money CA was losing to the masses going to Reno. So the "Legalized Indian Casino's".. Now CA. resident's don't have to make that trecherous drive through the I-80 Sierra Nevada pass to spend thier money..So now instead of Vacationers coming to Reno to Party, the Downtown "Row" area is full of Homeless mentally Ill pick pockets, Prostitutes, Drug induced Morons urinating, Deficating Idiots, Pan Handelers, Thiefs, Muggers, and every other kind of undersirable imaginable!..But the city council LOVES and Codels these TRASHY Scumbags... The City Council is so invested in providing for the SCUMBAGS that they put a priority on those scumbags over the Good people who would like to come spend thier money in Reno.. That's why when people do come to Reno, They ususally don't want to come back.. Same experience you had.... Because of the over population in Reno's recent situation Traffic is a NIGHTMARE,...SO at the end of the day, Reno has a LOT to offer Street Vibes, Hot August Nights, Balloon Races, Rib Cookoff, Reno Air Races, Constant Bar Crawls, Fishing, Lake Tahoe, Snow Skiing, Ect, Ect. .. Having lived here for 27 years I enjoyed your video. I agree with some other comments, that downtown in a covid19 winter is like wandering a ghost town. I also feel your too centered on the casino aspect of the city. Yes lots of homeless on the streets of Reno. Yet marginal in comparison to Vegas. Your reference comparison to Vegas is interesting, but lacks one major observation. Vegas is much more of tourism economy. Reno once was but back in the late 90's downturn, began to diversify. I would encourage you to come back in the summer when literally each week, there's a festival, or event occurring. I also would encourage you to see the outlying areas of the city. We are an outdoor destination. As far as casinos go, Reno is much less than Vegas. Not high rollers, more gambling for the RV crowd. I hope you'll return in a post covid19 world. Maybe take in the air/balloon races, hot August nights. Reno blues brews & bbq's. Take care.

How did you visit Reno and not Lake Tahoe!! You should go to South Lake Tahoe next. It’s about 45 from Reno and such a nice mix of Casinos in actual alpine mountains. I grew up in Lake Tahoe. It’s 2/3 California & 1/3 Nevada. The casinos are on stateline. You can walk between California & Nevada like you did from circus circus & the silver legacy.

The Row, isn't connected by an "underground" tunnel! There are 3 skywalks. As you were coming out of the door, that "tunnel" you were in is one of them! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

You went to Reno and forgot to do any fun stuff but you need a local to help you find all the fun places. Revision, Wasting Arrows, Scheels, Lake Tahoe..

The whole Reno Tahoe Carson City and Virginia City area is just a much more chill atmosphere. Full of history tradition mountains lakes ghost towns old mining towns taverns etc etc.

You tried to "drive" Reno... like it was Vegas. This I know because of your excitement over the Italian Suits for sale in the Peppermill. You have to roll-up you sleeves, not be afraid to get your shoes dirty and go of the beaten path. You missed a lot. Go back. Walk around UNR next time. Go to the many antique shops. Looks at guns at Cabela's Or Scheels. Go hike. You did Reno wrong.

The walkway between the "Row" hotels is at the second floor level NOT underground. I used to live there and know of what I speak.

You’re right, the Peppermill is the best Hotel Casino in Reno, but still no comparison to fabulous Las Vegas. I just found and subscribed to your channel and started viewing your videos, which are great, thank you. One of our favorite places to eat in Las Vegas in Hakkasan at the MGM.

Mann you should have come later! It's way more open now. Besides, you missed out on the GSR, Tahoe, the nature, roller Kingdom, wild island, and of course the little hidden gems around town! I'm in a Mopar (car) club and we drive around a lot so I know Reno like the back of my hand. It really is a shame you barely saw any of it.
