Well it is a male, because Betta females are rather dull, those pretty ones are male. But that tank is far too small. It needs a filter, heck mine had a heater because I'm in England. Please research a fish before you get it, prevent any poor fish having to suffer due to well intentioned hickups.

Hands down my favorite thingn in the hobby is going to the store seeing all the fish possibilities and seeing all the unique fish my LFS could order. Definitely gives me a ton of good ideas

You should at least get your betta a 5 gallon or more tank! It would be much happier that way and you can add tank mates if you get a 10 gallon tank too. I suggest that you should have 1 predator tank and 1 community tank. For the community tank I suggest you get Harlequin Rasboras, Neon tetras, Corydoras, 1 or 2 dwarf gouramis, Platys, and maybe cherry shrimp. Also don’t forget to add plants to your community tank so the fish would feel much safer and feel they are in a natural environment. For the predator tank you could get an Arowana or maybe a Flowerhorn (can be in your 100 gallon) or you could get a goldfish tank too! Since I think you said you have a 100 gallon you could get 5 goldfish for that. One important thing also is that you should avoid overstocking you tank. You would have to do more frequent waterchanges if you have too much bioload.

We call that fish fighter fish in my country, it is called Beta in other places.It is an extremely tough fish, can endure anything and live.Mine one jumped out of the tank so many times and still didn't sustain any injury.

Hey PLEASE get a bigger tank for the betta. At least a 5 gallon tank! It is cruelty to keep it in something as small as that. I know you mean well, but please read up more. They are intelligent, beautiful creatures with specific needs. Thanks! :)

And for whatever you put in the bigger tanks, do research. Some fish seem small when you get them, but need huge tanks as adults. (Goldfish, plecos, arowana)

You realize the active betta water is just water with declorinator in it. Kind of a rip off if you ask me. They are just trying steal money people who know nothing about fish keeping.

Betta is a male, you should get him a bigger tank. 2.5 gallon is recommended. Anything less or more isn't good for the betta, also maybe a small air stone for him, and heated water at 78 degrees.
