I’m a Japanese American currently living in Yokohama and a huge fan of the BAYSTARS and baseball. I’m so glad that you are showing what baseball is like here in Japan to all the viewers around the world. Many Americans still probably has alot of question marks when it comes to the NPB world where the atmosphere is completely different than the states but I hope many people can learn more about the culture here throughout these vlogs! Thanks Trevor and I’m excited to see you on the big stage this year ❤

I'm an American that's done some Japanese martial arts growing up. I got into how the modern culture has changed the old culture that had Beauty, for sure, but also had crazy stuff. The Honor thing is Awesome, but modern folks decided they could do better. It's beautiful. People say "osu" here to mean respect. I found out that it's short for "osugurime", which was a thing people said at breakfast to mean "respect and good day". then I found out that it specifically excludes women, people younger than you, people in a lower social class, and non-Japanese. I stopped saying it and explained it to anyone that did. I'm also a huge baseball guy. I love Japanese baseball. I love how every game is a party. It's so fun. They have cheerleaders, both male and female. I never had a favorite team because I liked all of the teams. I always dreamed of getting there to see it. And get an R33 4-door Skyline GT-R . Too bad Im poor! In all the WBC's, they were the #2 team I rooted for. Softball, too, and I think it's awesome that American players can have a softball league that doesn't pay like crap that they can play in. Now, Baystars are my favorite because I like Trevor a lot. He's a blast to watch pitch. His passion is evident, and I'm all all about players like that. I'm a Cubs fan, and I just found that I like him when we played them in the World Series.

In USA the baseball fans in the stands... it's more of a low-key, pastoral atmosphere. Very 19th century. In Japan it's more like a soccer game, with lots of chants and stuff. I've actually said for awhile that, although the sports are very different, soccer and baseball are paced kinda the same way. Long periods of slower strategic play, punctuated by moments of great excitement.

The thing I found as a fan to be the most different thing was fan safety. There was a 40’-50’ tall net that ran from one foul pole in right field all the way to left field. They have people with air horns who’s only job is to track foul balls coming over the net and warning people where it’s landing. There was a section in the out field where you could sit in front of the net but you had to wear a helmet and have a glove! Everyone was into watching the game and not talking or taking pictures to post on social media.

This video was so cool seeing the different aspects of the game. I’ve been a baseball fan for sixty plus years. A Phillies fan & last year seeing them in the WS was awesome. They came up short but as I said always a fan. Japanese people seemed warm & just as excited if not more. Best of luck to you & your team. Enjoy what you’re doing. ⚾️🧢⚾️

Thanks Trev for showing us around the BayStars... After seeing that, not sure I'd want to come back to the states to play.. I'd really like to come visit some games in Japan... Rachel is a gem, keep up the good work, and all the best for success this season. Cheers!

I am such a big fan from the momentum crowd, I knew I had to tune into the vlogs this year. You don't get this perspective of how MLB players/pro players go day by day. Very cool to show us all the inside stuff :). Thanks Trevor for this channel !

He is definitely a student of the game. Very scientific approach. I was wrong about him until I discovered this channel. The media portrayed him as an arrogant hothead. I definitely need to reevaluate how I form opinions on people.

I've been to three games in Japan. They have all been wonderful - the game, the fans, the atmosphere, the food...and the beer keg women. My favorite mascot is Yakult Man - Making sure everyone remembers to get their daily drinkable yoghurt full of beneficial bacteria for the gut.

This morning having breakfast at the hotel - eating and surfing the ESPN website and the first story under TOP HEADLINES was "Bauer pitches in Japan for first game in two years" - I got excited, could not wait to read the article and things could not have gone better for you Trevor - no runs, 4 hits, 6 strike outs in 4 innings - big turn out at the minor league ballpark, far larger attendance then usual - rooting for you big time. Loved this video, thanks again! PS - Rachel besides being smart, hard working looks absolutely gorgeous, she is awesome!

The rehab outing at the Dock this afternoon was good shit. Japanese fans talked about how scary it was that you easily ramped up the intensity to get out of the jam in the third inning. Keep working hard and stay humble bro, the Baystars know they got a good one and will take care of you. One thing I'm noticing across all ballparks in Japan is the foul territories are so big. Passed balls are going to be very costly.
