🇮🇹 Join me, Kirby Allison, as I embark on an extraordinary journey through the heart of Florence, Italy. In this first episode of my Series exploring the world of quality, craftsmanship, and tradition in Italy, I'm treated to a guided tour of Florence by my dear friend Tommaso Melani, CEO of the renowned shoemaking firm Stefano Bemer. Together, we explore the rich history, unparalleled craftsmanship, and enduring traditions that make Florence a true gem of the Renaissance.
Our day begins at the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, basking in the early morning light. Tommaso shares fascinating stories about the city's transformation over centuries, from its humble beginnings to becoming a beacon of art and culture under the Medici family.
We stroll towards the Uffizi Gallery and walk past the statue of David through the Piazza della Signoria, delving into Florence's artistic legacy. Tommaso then treats us to one of his favorite Florentine rituals: an early morning cappuccino and Florentine breakfast at his favorite neighborhood cafe, Cibreo Cafe. Our morning finishes with a walk through one of Florence's historic open markets before heading to Stefano Bemer.

Brits were dancing to the moon when Romans were making art, fashion and what not and when Florence alone was richest than whole England in Renaissance.. importing silk from Asia and doing fashion for Europe for 400 years after..how on earth they got it from Brits during grand tour ?? Also Brit ( Rich) youngsters came in continental Europe to completely change their coarse attitude and went back to England with a complete different wardrobe. MAybe you forgot that all the major artistic tendencies in the last 1000 years were born in Italy not in England then again.

What does one say?!?! I've been blessed to visit Milan, Rome, Vipiteno and Venice in my life and I am gobsmacked at the beauty you find in so many things in Italy. They have the fashion, the architecture, the cars, the food, the culture. So much style. This episode is such a feast for the eyes, it is cinematic perfection!!! I've stood in the Colosseum, and I've stood at the Trevi fountain, Vatican City, Piazza Duomo, Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Square, Palatine Hill, Sistine Chapel. My mind blown every time! The pride in his voice as he speaks about his City is the pride I've seen and heard many times in Italy. The place is simply stunning! They have it all! I've even walked by a small gathering of Italian men in the pristine Italian cut suits and thought, "Jesus Christ this lot are handsome buggers!!!!" They just ooze class in all they put their hands to. I cant wait for the rest of this series!!! This is going to be a feast for the eyes and mind!!! Kirby, you're a gentleman and a genius. An excellent start to the series Kirby. Really interesting conversation in the coffee shop. It reminded me of an Italian owned cafe in Leeds in the UK, called Pasta Romagna. It was owned by a lady called Gilda. She always played opera music, and often joined in. Everybody who walked in, were always greeted with a shouted Buongiorno. Her coffee was amazing, unlike the big chains, that were discussed in your video. Looking forward to the next video in the series.

Florence was my favourite city in Italy. If I spoke Italian I could have quite happily lived there. Watch out for the food and the wine, it's very easy to pack on some weight if your not careful.

Ponte Vecchio at 5:53. On that bridge there is a Patek AD that hand paints the dials of Patek watches. They then become piece unique, or one of a kind.
