The actually price for both of them in a decent shop would cost 1500 lkr…but the man was actually telling the truth 1000 isn’t a big amount in Sri Lanka. I’m pretty sure the world would know by now the cost of living and the inflation in Sri Lanka.

If they willing to take 80cent when asking for 8euros that just tells u how much they ripping u off... Trust me they do not suffer as bad as u think... They live a good stress free life compared to westerners... Cost of living make a huge difference

Hey Luke , just a small tip when you are bargaining in SL , if the seller didn't agree for your price you could just walk away coz there are high chances they ll agree even if you miss the item you could buy it from the next seller for a better price..

In 2 weeks there's April New Year Holiday's coming up in Sri Lanka. You don't wanna be moving around then. I was there at that time in 2012 staying at a beach resort when they had the tsunami warning after another big earthquake near Sumatra, Indonesia. Fled to a 3rd fl rooftop waited 3hrs to either live or die from the wave that luckily never came.

@@hellnohavean9874 o not as dangerous as you think. Everything is normal despite peaceful protests in some places. The prices are little bit expensive now. Power cut is only for two hours a day. But hotels are functioning well with generators. So please done give negative image of Sri Lanka.
