Anyone who isn’t nervous in someone else race car doesn’t respect the time and effort involved in building it.the fact cleetus was Cleary nervous shows the respect he has.
It also shows the respect and confidence the owner has for the borrower. You may feel nervous at hell, but if he's letting you drive it, he's confident you'll do fine
People head over to Tom Bailey's channel and give him some love his video on this is just as insane, so happy for Cleetus to have had this chance in life. You can feel how much this meant to both of them.
@@Floortile83 I'm sorry man, but whistlin is the kind of guy I wouldn't trust with a squirt gun. Just too reckless of a guy. Personally, anything that goes boom or fast of mine would stay well out of his hands.
I just found the video, it's so funny to see Cleetus be this nervous and excited when you know what he's pulling casually on the track these days. He's such a natural.
Just watched Cleetus's first killer test runs in Eagle before heading off to World Cup today. He has come so far in the last 3 years and deserves every bit of the success.
I think cause Cletus has made SO many passes in fast cars, he was probably one of the best people to be behind the wheel going 224 mph without a shoot lol
Cleet has given so many folks the opportunity to run their fastest passes in Ruby. Seeing him get a chance to do the same in Tom's car is just awesome. Tom is such a legend - subscribed to his channel as soon as he announced he was doing youtube on his instagram - definitely go subscribe to his channel people!
@@bigcountry908 no Texas speed built a 2500 hp capable solid roller ls I believe a smx would be alot farther in the future that's over a 100k engine it's to much engine for the current setup in all honesty that's a 5 second setup mullet would need alot of changes to make it useful
@@someyoungguy6990 there definitely had to been some diamond making amounts of pressure going on when he hit the switch for the chutes and nothing happened.
@@wobblysauce not a bad idea to check but from the sound of it I believe he juuuust barely scrubbed them. I think he had a good feel on brake pressure vs available traction and modulated masterfully.
I love how safety conscious Cleetus really is - check at 18:04 where he's training muscle memory for the chute lever - it's just a default step in the mental protocol for him. And how he kept his cool is just fantastic! So glad nothing happened. Congrats on both runs, Cleetus!
@@pdxmix when I was in Bradenton Thursday the guys at the motorsports Park said that cleetus bought it. If you think about it. Buying the car that started your multi million dollar career seems like a fun idea.
same. i drove on old red dodge ram as a push truck in the mid 2000s at Desoto speedway every now and then. i bought a piece of the track in that construction deal cleet was having on his site. pretty cool to have an opportunity at a piece of nostalgia like that. what are the odds
I agree! Cleetus can drive the shit out of anything. James and Cleet are one or a kind, down to earth guys. I remember in one video some stuff went wrong with the cars, and Cleet says "well we accomplished the goals we came here to do." They proceeded to have a blast and worry about that later. Much respect!
@@ArKritz84 Apparently more people found "Buildin' Whatever" post more useful than your comment and this one of mine. chill and relax dude. We are all friends here. No need to be confrontational to anyone. It makes us look bad. peace
Who would have ever dreamed ~6 years ago when teen aged Garrett gave birth to Cleetus McFarland about this car that he would now be making a full 1/4 mile pass in the very same car. ‘Murica.
Watching both Leroy and ruby run down the track thinking they’re crazy fast then watching this beast run down and seeing how fast it got away from the line is quite impressive
@Andrey Angere I could be wrong, but he buys everything. And the fact that it is the car that started it all would be icing on the cake to have in his arsenal. And Tom has a few other cars such as 2.0, that he could use the money towards getting that back up and going. I'm sure Tom doesn't need the money, but we could ALL use a few extra dollars every now and then. And just kinda how they were talking about them in both cleets and Tom's videos. And I have been 100% spot on with all of his previous purchases. He drops eggs every now and then
I'm guess in a month. Cletus said he had an announcement coming, and they were talking about putting a sold sign in the car after he adjusted the valves.
The amount of achievements in this video lol, first 6 second pass, first 200mph, first person to drive Tom's car and first to almost crash it all at the same time haha LEGENDARY!
First video, drooling over this insane Camaro...now he get's to wheel it down the track in a 6 second run...he's come so far and is still respectful to those that helped get him to this point.
@@billb410 came to say the same- respectful and humble don’t mean that you can handle a car of tha caliber of this missile. Wheeling a death machine like Leroy the way he does? Yeah, that’s probably more important..
Daughter vs car. who will be victorious? Who shall win Tom's greatest devotion? At least if the car gets a little bit knocked up you can still straighten out the panels again...
@@jimf1007 if you believe that your a nut why would he one two he’d be sacrificing a car with sentimental value and lots and lots of money poured into it
@@hazelyuzon5052 He would have chosen the next coolest car in the parking lot that night...........but, I'm damn glad to see the content with Tom Bailey. I just started watching him a few weeks ago and he is as awesome as the Cleetus crew, Matt from Demo Ranch, and finnegan. What a great time for gear head entertainment!
I don't know who's more badass, Tom for letting you drive this beast or you for that absolutely awesome composed save when the chutes failed! Amazing!!
Lol, he knows how to use breaks, that's pretty skilled, lmfao I'm dead, 😂😆 he's such a good driver because he knows where the breaks are, that's pretty much what you said bud, good job
@@dylankirby814 a car doesn’t respond the same way when you step on the brakes at triple digit speeds, much less with skinny front tires doing all the work.
I'm an autistic person who has fallen in love with these you tube car channels. Tom Bailey and Garret seem to be some of the most awesome and down to earth guys I follow. Gotta throw Mike Finnegan in there too. Thanks guys for the knowledge and distraction.
I don't know if I'd call cleetus down to earth, he's literally built a persona on being a bit of a wild child, but I agree with Tom and Mike, that being said Cleetus in the past year or so has matured alot.
I’m just curious why you felt it necessary to announce that you’re an autistic person at the beginning of your sentence. I mean the sentence would have done just fine on its own without that preface.
@@WB4JB I'm a non-binary interplanetary galactic robot who likes my sugar with coffee and cream...and apparently this person's handicap is their identity.
@@WB4JB For a lot of autistic people it's hard to just sit down and enjoy something and be content. It's a lot of overstimulation mentally, even just sitting down doing nothing, it feels like very bad anxiety and its difficult to focus on something, in other words it's hard to find something that can not only keep your mind at bay but also find something you can enjoy. It's a big deal to people like us, the 20 minutes of peace and not having to deal with the mental unpleasantness really means a lot. It's like trying to drive a car that bucks and surges, cuts out, etc. When you finally drive over a smooth road and the engines running perfectly its awesome, to most people that would just be driving Hope that helps, it was hard to explain
@@benjamins9121 That was very well said 👍. Thanks for that explanation, it helped me understand where he was coming from. Also that was in a way a complement to the content creators.
Who knew he would grow from someone yellin "its a shredbull you knarbcake" on the slopes, to a race track owning, 6 second driving, pillar in the car community. We're proud of you Cleeter!!!🦅
@@MrBIGBUBBZ LOL who hurt you? Why would i call him garrett, i dont know garrett. I know Cleetus, the character he plays for the internet. You sound salty that you dont have millions of subs with your own racetrack🤷🏻♂️
Driving Skills are next level. You threw the Shoot exactly when you was supposed too. You recognized that it wasn’t working and you stopped that Beast going 224mph…. What a LEGEND!
I'm so glad Tom started giving YT a shot. He and his team are legends. Also they kind of hint at more things to come. I'd be so excited to see Cleet and Brent driving this at Drag Week next to 2.0 or the new Nomad.
Hey Cleetus, you were spot on man and how you saved the No Chute situation and avoided the trap, was as professional as it gets. Thanks for sharing it all with us. I hope they get you for a driver. You hands down demonstrated " calm in the face of danger " very impressive... Best Regards, Gene O San Jose Ca.
I used to get into a great book so deep that it took the sound of my surroundings suddenly rising slowly in volume to realize I'd been to "That Place" again. The videos here do something to me that's similar in that "taken far from here" feeling and I love it! Cleetus, I dare say, has become my #1 Hero. Need I say more?
Hell yeah brother. Saw the teaser and I was hyped to see this! Also I graduated college today so this is a rad gift lol. Also cool to see this helmet design on the channel again. One of my favorites.
I commented on Toms video the same thing. I think Mullet needs a Steve Morris Engine in it, once you top out the 427LS. That guy knows how to make stuff go fast reliably.
Month Of Freedom is the best thing to ever happen to RU-vid! Subscribed to Tom Bailey and sending more people to his channel. Cleetus & Tom are such solid dudes.
Love how this guy is more than happy to teach you how to adjust lash. I mean, he's already there with one of the best cars around, but he knows your cars and that's just a cool dude in my book. Too many people keep secrets, but I guess you have to in most cases. Kudos! Wish Jackstand was there, you can always learn something.
Wow tom is one cool down to earth guy I don't believe there's many guys out there that would let you drive their drag car making a past that fast he obviously trusts you a lot... Props to Tom Bailey
@@danmyers9372 i think he is putting one of the Morris engines in Mullet and wanted to get the feel for that power and see how it runs. Tom isnt selling this to Garrett i dont believe. They kinda mentioned in the video that people already think he is buying it and they laughed like it wasnt a thing.
@@warrenmichael918 North Texas speed is building him the baddest ls engine ever for mullet 2500 hp capable but after they tap out the car and he wants to go faster he will definitely get a different type of engine Steve Morris is already building him an engine for something watch Steve's channel a while ago I think it's just for a tow truck from the freedom factory though because it was never mentioned
I have a feeling mr Cleet is about to unvail the ultimate bald eagle machine. Learning from one of the OG's to get a handle on things before he gets his own.
@ 16:10 Tom looks like a dad talking to his son-in-law the morning after the wedding when he has never seen his daughter so happy. (reluctantly enthusiastic with a tear in his eye)
Well done guys and especially Cleetus! New car, new track, full send and no chutes! I can hear this track from my house, hope to see you all back there sometime in the near future!
