This week I visited the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale, CA and had an absolute blast!!! renfair.com/so... Sharon Fredrickson / sfredrickson / sharon..bigshar Produced by: Big Shar Productions
Omg. The whole family loves this episode. As folks that own a business that operates at Ren Faires we were excited to see Sharon get a taste of our home away from home.
It was truly our delight to welcome thee to our Court, and we are pleased indeed that thou didst enjoy thy day so greatly! We trust thou shalt come to see us again next year! Thy Sovereign, Elizabeth R
I didn't attend this year, but generally go to the annual Renn Faire I'm a transplant from St Louis and the Renn Faire is set in Lyon France.. (they have a sign welcoming you to Lyon and the year) , My dress was made from curtain fabric. Through the years, I add a cup, a flask, straw brim hat, velvet bag...etc. That happened to also be my birthday Sunday..so spent it with family. Yes, the handicrafts are definitely worth seeing. There is also food and drink there(and restrooms). Do yourself a favor folks..attend a faire.
Man, I haven't been to a Ren Faire in forever. Did you just randomly come across an ASL interpreter? That was awesome. I always loved going to the Faires, when I did. So much fun.
I went to my first Renaissance Faire last summer. Prior to that, virtually everything I knew about Renaissance Faires was through movies and TV-shows. I didn't dress up for it (not my thing), but I noticed a lot of other visitors dressed up, and some of them really went all out with their costumes.
I used to go to the Texas Renaissance Festival almost every year if I could afford it but it's harder for me to get around now. It was always a blast and the food is fantastic.
I try and go to that fair every year, they also have a pirate invasion in Long Beach which is really cool at the end of June (they have mermaids also).
I love going to Ren Faires & re-enactments (SCA). You did good for your first time, Just remember for next time, refer to the Royals as "Your Majesty", "Your Royal Highness" or simply "Your Highness", these are the titles which are used to address certain members of royalty , while "My lord/lady" or "Your Lordship/Ladyship" to address a peer other than a Duke/Dutchess, who is referred to as "Your Grace". Glad you have fun!
“Your Majesty” is for the sovereign only; “Your Highness” is for other members of the royal family. But during Elizabeth’s time, there’s only her, so it’s only “Your Majesty”!
I love this video! This one really brought back memories of the one and only Renaissance Faire I went to almost 25 years ago. You're right that one should plan to spend all day there because there's so much to see and do! I live in Texas and went to the Texas Renaissance Festival back in 1999, and with that festival, you could spend the entire weekend there with everything they have going on. Thanks for posting this video! It really brought a smile to my face! :)
I love the facts and that you did this video. Renaissance fairs are so fun and I've been going for most of my life. I am glad to see you had a great time. I have been to a couple of different ones in different states, but I have yet to go to one in California. Loving this and all your other videos Sharon. Keep up the great work!
I LOVE Ren Faires! Except for the period it was closed during the Pandemic, I've attended mine here in PA since 2004 when I went on a class trip there. I love everything at the Faire; the sights, the smell of the food, the sound of the music, the costumes, the jousting (O, do I love me a good jousting tournament.) But most of all, I adore the taste of those delicious turkey legs. On your next Try Not To challenge, Sharon; I suggest you should do an eating one themed after D&D or Ren Faire food
When I was growing up in Cali, I use to go to the Ren fair, I loved it. I dressed up one year with my parents and dad's friends. I was a page and it was a lot of fun.
I loved the Ren Faire I attended in Arizona of February of 2020! It was my first trip to the United States and I enjoyed my time SO much. I love the esthetic and the exuberance of it. I still wear the claddagh ring I bought. Definitely would love to attend another one in the future. ❤
Hi Sharon! Just wanted to give an honest feedback on your videos.. There is a noticeable gap between the mic audio and the music. For context, mic volume is a 3 while the background music is an 9. So I would manually lower the volume when there's music then dial it back up when there's dialogue. That's all for now. I love your content, it has that genuine feel good vibe. I look forward to seeing this channel grow further!
