Is There A Different Between Fast Flight Plus and BCY 8125 or 8125g String Material? In this video I take my first steps in finding out with my Olympic recurve bow. This is My First Experience Shooting Brownell Fast Flight Plus so I recorded my very first shots with it.

The Fast Flight+ is larger in diameter (which is why you had to use large nocks) compared to the 8125, so it would feel softer, perhaps easier on the fingers, maybe quieter or more damped.

Fastflight will definetly be softer in the shot you may lose a little speed but in my opinion its worth it for the nice feeling shot..ive just swapped to fastflight plus for my carbon defiant as well.

Regarding the advantages of FF spectra material, in my opinion, it is softer, has less vibration, is quite forgiving, and is quieter than 8125 dyneema. As for the 8125, it's a little harsh, a little vibrating. Both strings are the choice of recurve archers, whether intermediate or world-top archers.

Interesting. I was under the impression than bcyx is better than 8125g since it has no creep or elasticity it should have faster speed than 8125 and more efficiency

BCY X's characteristics of having no creep or elasticity might be better but it also leads to a snapper shot that does not come off your fingers as smooth and it may also not facilitate as clean of a shot. This is a personal preference thing. I am not saying that if you shoot X or 8125 that your wrong. I am saying based on my experience with all 3 the Fast Flight is my new favorite with 8125 in 2nd. The BCY X from talks with top archers is that it is more of a compound string material. But again you can do what you want. Thanks for sharing and Happy Shooting 🏹🎯 😀

I prefer unblended materials like D97 over blended ones such as BCYX. It feels better for recurves.

I am now using new BCY X99. When I making strings with Fastflight plus I always can not control the accurate length. Because it`s huge extension.

Someone on youtube did a speed test with the fast flight and the 8125. No difference in speed. I think they were both at 194 fps.

Bcy X is so harsh on recurve limbs ... I was advised by some leading retailers to avoid it on my X tours limbs ....due to delamination to the limbs caused by the x string products.

Yes I have heard the same thing. I have also been told 8190 is the same. It has to do with the lack of stretch in the string material

+Shore Shot Archery win & win reported the same problem with their limbs s .... I have been shooting for 40 yrs and seen a lot of changes ..dacron , then kevlar which was huge jump in performance, but snapped on the loops every 1100 >1200 shots and d always at full draw !. then fast flight came along and saved the day ..... I've shot 8125g for a few yrs now and cannot really fault it ..... keep up the great informative video's.

Don't the Koreans use bcy 652 spectra or angel majesty string material? I believe Brownells ff+ is different from the original fast flight.

Yes I do but it seems to be very fussy. I will have to work on it because it would be interesting to know if one is actually faster

I use dyneema sk99 material, when shoot on cheap carbon bamboo core(wns CB1 unidirectional carbon bamboo core), its a bit vibration, when i shoot with FF plus frm brownell spectra on same limbs, its quieter than dyneema sk75 or sk99..mercury and bcy 8125, FF easy creep, but not for FF plus, is low creep, 8125 more forgiving and sound so great..i use both string to my fivics titan ex..i don't wanr to upgrade my riser in the future, stick what i use now..love my titan ex riser..
