Having played this game for a few hours (I already got the Auto Battle 100 times achievement) I’m ready enjoying it. I like that it feels like a JRPG from the 90’s but then I loved Suikoden II.
Hmm, I was just playing it 1 hour ago and I was thinking to myself that the rate was incredibly low. I must not have patched yet. It was so low I was going town to town without any battles.
@@mysidia -- It used to be I was going through whole areas with barely an encounter, like the Abandoned Mines. It would be MINUTES just about between encounters, which was quite low, and I would hardly get encounters out in the World Map. NOW I'm getting encounters almost every 15-20 seconds, I'd say, and it's like I will take a few steps and then *BOOM* another encounter. It's almost annoying, lol.
How? I think the story after 17 hours is pretty bare minimum and boring. Combat got boring after the first 50 or so battles without any way to speed anything up. Abilities are extremely lackluster, and hero combos have ZERO purpose as everyone of them are weaker than separately attacking with the characters it uses in the combo. Terrible game flaws and design choices in my opinion. Not having weapons to buy or find also hurts the game as all you do is spend Baqua (money) to upgrade with zero difference in appearance. I was excited as hell for this game, ultimately it has been a let down the entire way so far. 🤷♂️ I’ll still beat it because I beat every game I play, but it’s like a 5 or 6/10 for me.
@@BetterThanYouAtVideoGames if you thought you'd buy new weapons, you never played a Suikoden game. I'm 40 hours in and the story is ok but it would have been better with more characterization of the enemies. Combat is good enough, it serves its purpose. Combos still have purpose with the added effects, you just shouldn't look at damage only. Abilities aren't lackluster, no. I'm having a blast, the game is great.
@@armorvil suikoden games were all boring as hell inflated fluffed out recruitment boredom. Never appealed to me. This combat system just isn’t it. Hero combos are useless, except the one healing you get. Otherwise the game is mediocre in all ways possible. I don’t care about a game from 20 years ago or whenever it was. This is 2024, you want to appeal to a broader audience, not people from 20 years ago…not having something as simple as weapons for loot in a JRPG is absolutely atrocious work. Nothing you can say or any explanation you come up with will ever rid them of that mistake. Combat serves its purpose is like saying I only do it because the game makes me otherwise I’d skip it every time literally proving my point about combat. Bro just hold your L and enjoy the lackluster experience. It’s a mediocre game at best.
@@BetterThanYouAtVideoGames What do y ou mean upgrading weapons doesnt change their appearance? Sounds like you havent played the game and y oure just choosing to be a negative nancy.
@@snowbird2893 almost 20 hours in Weapon level 12, same exact appearance as when I started the game at level 1, 1 minute into the game. Game just isn’t good enough. In any way you think about I will be able to pick apart anything you come up with as a rebuttal I’m your daddy boy
