They should be only adressed by their true name in France: Choco Pops The renaming to Coco Pops has been one the the biggest food industry scandals in the last 20 years!
You came in what might just be Lyon worst season in their history but atleast that allowed you to see this unique moment between the ultras and the players. Anyways thanks for showing Ligue 1 to the world most younger peoples don't know much about it apart from PSG and think it was created by the Qataris and they are the only one ever doing anything. But here in France our clubs are part of our city of our identity they mean a lot and football too, PSG won the C2, Marseille the UCL, Lyon 7 ligue 1 in a row, Lens Marseille and Paris aswell as a lot of other clubs have beautiful atmosphere and dedicated fans, so thanks for showing all those different leagues and ligue 1 too i hope you continue to do amazing content like that.
Went to a PSG game in paris VS Lens the other week, incredible game. I was under the impression that the PSG fans would be mostly plastic, but they were incredible. The ultras did not stop once throughout the entire game and the tifos and banners they displayed were incredible. Also I can understand why that guy said Lens, even though there were only 100 of them, they were about as loud. Insane energy and pyros, just incredible.
I think the comment about Lens may be due to the fact that the capacity of their stadium is bigger than the population of the actual city. However, they draw a lot of support from the wider metropolitan area, despite them being located so close to Lille.
If you want to see the best atmosphere in France and one of the best in Europe you have to go to Marseille to see Olympique de Marseille match there is nothing better in France Lyon fans will not tell you because Marseille is the rival. The best stadium experience I have had abroad the Marseille stadium is a volcano
I'm a rare Englishman who loves premier league football of course (united fan obviously), but I also love watching german football, Italian football and in particular french football!
Im not a big football fan, but I really enjoy StuntPegg's videos for its humor, montage and soft gentle music during fans shouting at each other, and showing middle finger... What's the beautiful way to start the day!
France has some awesome sports fans. Super impressed by them here as I was super impressed by the MMA fans at UFC Paris. They come with passion... and how can you not like croissants!!?
@swampexpertextraordinaire6896 no men MMA is not even top 5 IMO, but it is clear that this is the trending sport that grows and grows rn. But still, Football, Rugby, Tennis, Basket or even Horse riding are still far ahead in terms of licence and fans. I could also argue that Judo is the most appreciated "sport de combat" in here. MMA is big but is limited to a pretty small part of the population yet
horse riding is just for gambling it cannot be compared basketball is not popular at all in france, tennis just for rich people at rolland garros@@TheRodo92
France always has the best supporters, not only in sports but in anything litteraly lol, I went to multiple concert from various artists and they were always so CRAZY, it was awesome
@@PakslOM, PSG, OL, Nantes, Lens..at least five in Ligue 1. Also, even Leipzig were fully stunted and afraid when playing in Marseille some years ago. I don't think they ever experienced any of this in any Bundsliga stadium.
@@Paksl Is it a joke ? Lens, Strasbourg, Paris, Marseille, Saint etienne, Lyon, Bastia, Nantes... and many others that can compete with 95 % of german football.
Insane that I discovered this channel the week I returned to Lyon for the first time in five years and attended this game. Loved this video and your channel in my limited experience of it!!!!
No coincidence that your first game happened to be when this odd thing happened, a perfect introduction to the crazy world of French football, this will give you a taste of what happens every other week. Welcome.
What a game to be there for! Have heard about that ultras speech all around, it’s cool to have seen footage of it. Definitely did not expect the Arizona Diamondbacks to be represented in ligue 1 coverage as well
Just seen Episode 3 of series 2 of Welcome to Wrexham and I nearly screamed "OH MY GOSH NIEVE!!!!!" but as it's nearly midnight I had to contain myself 😅 "Bolton Wanderers Fan" "That's not the only thing she is! that's our StuntPegg! One of the best football reporters on RU-vid!"
Great bounce being at this match where the fans had it out with the players after the game. Bonkers luck on your part. Unimaginable in any other sport. Fantastic video from a unique match!
Come to the northern derby between Lille and Lens, great atmosphere, two great teams, one of the biggest french rivalry, i'm absolutely sure you'll love it
I was in Paris earlier this year and watched PSG vs Nantes. It was crazy. The Nantes fans, although there wasn’t many of them (and they were behind a giant net) had their flares and were insane. PSG eventually won 4-2 and their ultras went crazy. Messi scored just under where I was sat, which was amazing, and Mbappe got his record breaking goal. It was a long way from my team Plymouth Argyle (formally of league 1, now of the championship 😉)
I'm a PSG fan and I must say that Lyon is most of the time a tough opponent for PSG, even when they are not very well in the championship they transcend themselves against Paris. Eventually they will come back I have no doubt.
one of the best football blogs out there never fails to disapoint this would make a cracking programme for one of the sky channels please keep up the brilliant work neave sorry if i spely your name wrong steve
One of the best football experiences I've had is seeing a pre takeover PSG play Monaco in Paris. We were in with the Ultras and it was mental and totally deafening
@@noah95v99Its à bit more complicated than that. The thing is PSG Ultras before QSI got really bad. Like, molesting-some-jewish-fans-to-death-after-a-loss bad. This incident is but an shining exemple of ultras getting mad at the club poor performance, which, at the time, was stucked in a never ending crisis since 2001. The league and the club eventually ban ultras groups deemed as the most dangerous in 2010, cleaned up fan tags that had been here since the 1980's, reinforcing the security, quite litteraly stabbing the fan culture in the heart as a punishement for their misconducts. then QSI arrived a year later, swept out a lot of the club staff, redesigned the user expérience in the stadium (rising the prices in the process, i have to admit) especially for the VIPs, gave a shiny new look at the club in the process, and then very slowly allowed ultra groups and hardcore fans in again. So yeah, you can diss QSI for a lot of things, but its not like their management of the fans was horrible, everything they did *in that regard* was either bot that bad, or perfectly sensical.
i have been watching your videos, at least one video for each day, starting since i found your channel last week. i must say i love the simplicity of the videos and sometimes the banter slipped inside them 😂
@@Lostouille ce serait triste pour le football français qu'ils se retrouvent tous les 2 en ligue 2 mais ça ferait des circonstances exceptionnelles pour un derby de fou 🔥
Just found your channel after catching it on my recommended, goddamn I wish I had found it sooner. I'm binge watching every video, love the analysis and the 'chill' editing in them! If you ever come to Brazil, you gotta go to a Grenal derby!
hi, you are courageous to have come to see this purge, I have been a long-time supporter, and what you have seen is only a glimpse of our catastrophic periods but also internally, I hope that the people of Lyon have been nice with you ^^
Lens is definetly a place to come, bollaert ( the stadium ) is a not as famous as the the velodrome or parc des princes. But the atmosphere there is just incredible. I'm not gonna say one is better than the other but it's clear that's it's one of the best atmosphere in France. I cannot recommend it enough. PS: Have a "frite" at the "friterie" to have a complete experience
This is amazing content! So refreshing to watch. You just gained a new subscriber, and hopefully one day you can come to Mexico's matches, particularly the Clásico between América and Chivas at the Estadio Azteca or Akron Stadium. Apapachos!
Thanks for the nice vlog of Lyon. It's always during hard times that we get a lot of international exposure lately ! Can't wait for another vlog in lyon !
"We Love You STUNTPegg, We dooooo, We love you STUNTPegg We dooooooo, WE LOVE YOU STUNT PEGG, WE DOOOOOO......OHHHHHHHHHH STUNT PEGG, WE. LOVE YOOOOOOOOOU!!!!!!"
Congrats on the WtW appearance, and being magnanimous in your opinion on what they have going on! When plenty of folks took the easy road, you took the tough, and you came out vindicated. I hope your appearance gains you many more followers!
@@stuntpeggnieve Went to Plymouth last Saturday was grim. They took their chances, we didn’t. Interesting story coming out about our ‘amazing’ owners! They are just a total shower of shite. We need them gone, but (sadly) where will that leave Rovers. A very sad state of affairs. Wouldn’t wish a football club to go out of business. Sadly football is being ruined in general.
As a native French and PSG Fan, I 'am speechless of how poor Lyon have been playing over the last few years. crazy to think that they reached a Champions league semi final 3 years ago but since that every thing has gone downhill
Nice to see the passion. There seems to be a narrative that French fans are dispassionate, but that's clearly not the case. Would be a great if another team or two could get the funding to challenge PSG and strengthen the league overall.
Your videos are so educational even for a big football fan like me. Ill say it again MOTD or any other major football show would be brainless fools if they didnt hire you. I would hire you in a NY second of i were an executive for one of those football shows. Your videos have so much ❤ not just for football but of people as well. Its so lovely & brilliant at the same time. Much ❤ and respect to you from the States.
@@leelo4717 I would have her as the host of the show (like the lady from Premier League Live is here in the states) & be part of the discussion of football and not just be eye candy (like a lot of hosts here in the are treated as nothing more than eye candy and a lot of them are only hired to do just that.) I would do long 10 minute long segments of her doing exactly what's she's doing now, just with a bigger platform. Nieve is absolutely beautiful, & her charm, kind soul, comedic chops & her overall brillance will have people tuning in everywhere.
@@johnsantos6480 I won't dispute any of that, but add that what I think enhances her credibility is supporting Bolton, a team currently in league 1 and which is her local club. Many presenters out there choose to support the likes of Manchester City simply because they're successful.
My French club is Bordeaux (Girondins De Bordeaux FC) 6 league titles My English club is Manchester United FC (The Red Devils) 20 league titles My Portuguese club is Sporting CP (The Lions) 19 league titles My Spanish club is Real Madrid CF (Los Blancos) 35 league titles
Sorry that you had to suffer a loss for the home team! French! I enjoyed your insightful comments like what you noticed observing how Kylian Mbappé plays. I'm from French-speaking Belgium. I know French supporters as very passionate, but also impulsive/hot-tempered fans [a behaviour obviously not limited to fans in France by any means!]. I do want to attend a game in Ligue 1 someday, maybe in Lille or in Marseille. Also, as I'm a native speaker of French, I just wanted to bring a small correction to the translation given of the message displayed in the stand: "Laurent Blanc, if you don't have the balls to fight, resign [rather than "stay at home"]".
Thanks a lot for your review. It s nice to have the point of view of a non french fan. It's hard to be an OL fan🥵 In which lounge were you? Did you book your ticket on the OL website?
Great video ! I'm french and i've an advive for you : come to Vélodrome in Marseille ! It's just inbelievable ! For a OM-PSG or OM-AJAX. You will love the Vélodrome. It's impressive. Don't miss this opportunity. In France, we've some great atmosphere : Marseille, Lens and Saint-Etienne (Ligue 2) are the best in France and even, they're all top 10 in Europe for me. After, we've Strasbourg, Nantes, Paris and Lyon.
The best atmoshere is defenitely in Lens and then Saint-Etienne. However, if a match is regular, without rivalry, it can be rather silent. It does not concern the fans' stand though. I mean if you compare to Balkan/Greek atmosphere it's quieter.
The best atmosphere in France (one of the best in the world) is at Stade Velodrome of Marseille. Only people who don't like OM (Marseille's club, it's the most popular, so has also many haters, especially in Paris/Lyon, the two "enemies") say it's Lens, Saint-Etienne (both great though), or another one. Balotelli said of all his clubs (Liverpool, Milan, Inter, etc), the best atmosphere was clearly in Marseille. Many others players/coaches (of OM and of oppenents) said the same thing. Of course, like in any other stadium, best atmospheres are for biggest games : vs PSG, Lyon, Monaco, Saint-Etienne, and of course european games. Maybe someday you will be there for one of this game. It would make another great video. ;)
in Marseille they re loud only when they have the lead, if the other way around it's a church and you know it they often leave the place before the end...
