My First Impressions of the NEW Sol de Janeiro Summer Body Mists Aren’t Great…

Love that there’s a coconut scent at all but we need another toasty coconut to replace coco cabana 😩

These are an easy pass for me, but I do enjoy some of the permanent scents (40 is my favorite). Also, I purchased the Ouai St. Barts body and hair mist, and it is AMAZING!! Perfect for summer!

I just picked up a #62 for the first time. I'm so rarely a gourmand gal, but this one somehow works on me and I love it! I think it's the woody notes at the base. I'm normally strictly a Penhaligon's girlie though! I hope you try more of their fragrances! They're so unique and amazing! Love both of your channels Lauren! Great review as always!

I loved all 3 scents this year but I'm definitely picking up on a raspberry note in the Carioca Crush one!

Love the red for sure!! The green and purple one definitely didn't like it at first but then after it settled on my skin I liked it!!

I only picked up the green one, and my toddler complimented me this morning and said “mama you smell like bubble gum” 😊 the red one was literally non-existent to my nose and the pink one was way too floral for my taste.

Summer e Amor dries to the sweetest most yummy smell that lingers. Try it layered with Mod Vanilla! It’s my go to combo at the moment:) totally agree with you on the red one - that cedar note is ‘off’

I miss cocoa cabana 39 so much! I didn't know it was limited edition and I used my last bottle as a room spray I'm getting the body wash in PR but I'll sniff these in store.

So far I really enjoy three, ive been playing with them all week 😂 the longevity has been pretty decent as well on all but i did layer them as well. I layed Beijos with the new Blooming Fire from Orebella, Carioca Crush with Ari, and then yesterday Summer E Amor with Angelic Vanilla from Zara and have to say i was impressed with how long they lasted.

I got the red one. Initially I was considering the green one, to but I think I chose right. It's so complex and nice the longer you wear it and lasts forever. I spray it on my skin and clothes.

Shoot. I rolled the dice and bought the pink almondy scent out of the three. I hope it wears okay on my skin 🤞 I love your channel!

omg , floral is DEFINITELY the strongest note on my skin with sol (green one). it’s so interesting that it’s opposite for you!! luckily i like florals so im okay with it :D and the coconut comes through later which is good.

I picked up all 3 and I don’t really care if they stinks 🤣I picked up all their limited edition so far and I like to have them in my collection. They will be coming in the mail either tomorrow or monday. I think the green or the pink one will be my favorite I like almond in perfume, I used to not like it but it grew on me overtime, we’ll see ! Tropical night was The best one I hope they will bring it back at some point.

I picked up the Carioca Crush and i do enjoy it! Wish all were a bit stronger though like their OG stuff, however it is yummy! The coconut i enjoyed as well - but i sprayed that one on my friend (i ran out of space LOL) so i dont know how it smells on ME , but on my friend it smelled yummy !! However the purple one I liked after a bit on the skin, first hit nah. I would prefer the Carioca Crush and Beijos de Sol over it to my nose!

I wasn’t expecting it, but I really liked Summer e Amor. It has the best longevity. The red one is a lot like Cheriosa 40.

The pink one was my favorite! The green one was 2nd and I wasn’t the biggest fan of the red one but I’m sure I can use it as a house spray or something

the green bottle is the only one speaking to me, but i want to go in store to smell them!!! thank you for always keeping it real. random side note, i got snif’s sweet ash for my birthday and i’m obsessed with it. it’s my first fragrance from the brand, and i ran and ordered “heal the way” with the QUICKNESS!!! 😍😍😍

I smelled these in store and nothing jumped out at me as being spectacular. Instead I bought the mini sampler of the core collection when it came back in stock today on Sephora. I have always been a little bit of a snob when it came to body sprays and these will be my first ones ever (I am 42). Even as a teen in the 90s I had a signature perfume and feel like I am now entering my, “I will try anything that smells good era.” I have never owned anything from Bath and Body or Victoria Secret. It’s usually all too sweet for me. So we shall see how I get along with the sampler and if I will become a convert 😅

I agree with your overall ideas: lighter and nothing stands out. I bought all three cause of fomo. I am loving Skylar's Boardwalk Delight and Phlur Amber Haze body mists. That Boardwalk Delight is in the inner console of my car for a quick spritiz of happiness before work lol. Have you tried anything from Lorenzo Pazzaglia? Ommg so good especially for unisex options. My purse won't be the same

All the Sol de Janeiro mists seem wayyy overhyped and overpriced to me, so I’m not surprised this collection seems lackluster. Since they go viral all the time the company knows they can make a bunch of money just doing whatever and this collection is giving “too faced holiday collection” vibes (aka lazy and cash grab). Will be interesting to see if the general public likes these

I love the way that the two pink bottles smell. I’m not a big fan of the green, but it might grow on me! My only complaint with them is that they don’t seem to last very long. I only can smell them for a few minutes after I spray them. 😞

I need a breakdown of all their scents. It’s overwhelming to pick and test them all when shopping.

I don’t have the pink one but I love the other 2.. but I wish they had a cream to match them to help promote longevity

I agree that the OG line has better scents than these new 3. I got them all and felt they were kinda underwhelming. I love the smell of all of them but the smell doesn’t last more than 10 minutes on my skin! I’m a true 40 girl. I loveeeeeeeeeeee that one! And I spray it on and can smell it on me for a long while.

This year I bought all 3 and like all 3 which is surprising since in past years I haven’t liked any of the spring/summer Ltd releases. I like the green one the best, then the red and lastly the pink if I had to rank all of them. 💚❤️🩷 Love the 59 as well! 💜

What's your take on the reformulation of the Cheirosa '62 perfume? I just finished my old one and am not sure if I would want the new one if it's too far off the old

I was so looking forward to this limited release but ended up picking up the Rio Radiance and 62 instead, these limited edition ones don't have a big scent profile they're way too muted

I love the Red & Green but the pink dried down to such a powdery floral it was nauseating 🤢 I might try layering it with my rio radiance lotion but idk she may be going back lol

These are just a collectors item for me. But I agree, they’re pretty basic and light. Definitely disappointing. The red one doesn’t seem appropriate for summer. It’s my favorite of the three, but it’s kinda deep/woody for summer.

I picked up the green. Its similar to 62 in a way. It doesn't seem to last nearly as long as 62 and 40 do though.

I got beijos de sol & I’ve only worn it once but I swear it dries down to smell like missing person after an hour or so!

I’ll give them a sniff but the sol de janiero mists always tend to smell sour on me except the one blue one they discontinued😢

I got the orangey-red one and while I like it when I first spray it, it honestly lasts about 5 minutes then just fades to a very light cedar musk. Which is nice but even that part only lasts maybe an hour. A little disappointing sadly.

I got the green one and summer amor blind buy. I like the green one. Its a lighter version of st barts to me. Dont like the purple one at all. Brings me back to middle school PINK sprays in a bad way.

I bought all 3 and was not as impressed as last summer's collection. Also, the scents fade really quickly compared to all of my other SDJ scents.

I have never heard that word indolic all I knew is I hate jasmine and it smells like mothballs to me, now I know how to describe that (and avoid it!)

I like the Carioca Crush. The Beijos doesn't last and the Summer E Amor isn't my style. I am glad to have them. It is a tradition. Take care ❌️ ⭕️

I was big time disappointed in these! They smell like the dollar store dupe! WHERE IS THE SCENT?! It disappears in an instant. They are the La Croix of body mists.

I only like Carioca crush. The other ones are so bad to me they already sold on Mercari

Bought all three and I agree that summer E amor is just not it. It smells like when you walk into the perfume section at JC penny. Not my fav. Carioca crush was my favorite just bc of its “shampoo” like smell. Overall nothing ground breaking though. Wish there was vanilla!

I was ready to buy the mist when I saw something horrific. ITS ONLY IN THE USA OR CANADA 😢 literally I was ready to get 2 free perfumes along with it but uh. That won’t be happening any time soon😞

The pink one smells EXACTLY like something I've smelled from Bath & Body Works before. It's not bad it's just super basic and I've smelled a million cheaper perfumes just like it. The performance is pretty bad too, only lasts an hour.

I agree the smell on all 3 are so light. I got all 3 and I don’t love them. They are ok. There is nothing unique about them.

I'm Brazilian. Funny thing: that brand is not known in Brazil. Who watches videos for chanels like yours, we heard of them, but the majority of people here, don't. Also, those notes are not appropriate and hace nothing to do with summer in Brazil. We can't use certain notes, like sweet notes. Nothing vanilla, etc. Because when it's 36°C, 38°C, 41°C.... And the thermal sensation much higher, we can't be smelling that kind of notes, or we can pass bad. We usually use light, fresh, citric and/or light floral scents. We also use body splashes like that, but nothing sweet. Good, popular perfumery houses in Brazil: Natura and Granado. L'Ocitanne also have a " L'Ocitanne eau Bresil" and has fresh watery fragrances typically from our climate, using our plants.

Frangipani is a poisonous flower .

I'll smell this in the store when I can, but I doubt I'll like them. I'm not super big on fruity smells tbh

Got a sampler of their products for Christmas. All were unsophisticated and not even close to the standards of scents I normally wear. All have landed in the Garage Sale boxes! Would be fitting for a niece or granddaughter. I love floral scents but not "beachy" ones or anything mixed with fruity aromas! Not going to purchase this stuff again.

It would be great if you would cite the nose behind each fragrance. I know which scents I will enjoy, often, by the nose who created them. The only SdJ scents I like are by one designer in particular. Knowing the artist is as helpful as the notes. Thx 🙏🏼 Off to fragrantica to snoop I go…

Idk I could tell from the bottles that these were not going to be worth it. I feel like this brand is not being creative nor are they listening to their customers.

I got these in the mail today and am quite underwhelmed. I generally like all of them, but they're nothing truly special. I find the core scents from SDJ are unique and totally worth it, but these I wouldn't have spent the money on if I had smelled them first. They also don't last as long as the core scents, not even remotely.
