You're such a good dude man, been watching your videos for a few weeks now and your attributes as an individual are a rare thing these days. Humble, skilled, knowledgeable and willing to teach. Keep up the good work brother, from the USA.
I agree with you. A beginner isn't gonna think he already knows what you are gonna teach him, so he will learn a lot more. The better way to improve is having humility at all levels, all belts, and trying to do even the most simple exercices the most accurate way you can. I enjoyed a lot this video. Continue doing this sensei. Is a noble way to contribute to a better world.
Thank you for sharing your infectious enthusiasm. I have been training for over 48 years . It is refreshing to witness pure joy in teaching and learning.
Sensei has that same excited enthusiasm for karate that steve Irwin had for animals The Crocodile Hunter. The enthusiasm is something that they shared and makes them enjoyable to watch!
All this kids make me remenber my grand daughter... they are so intusiastics! ...She left karate when I joint back to dojo few years ago... !makes me sad because now I'm going without her... so, thanks for give attention to the kids and to perform this seminar, sometimes sounds like I'm seeing my daughter into the crew.... oss.
Jesse, nice seminal for the kids, they really enjoy it. I always enjoy your videos, they are remarkably interesting. I really like a lot the one that you did about your mom and her dojo. Thank you again.
Great video Jesse , can you imagine what an inspiring role model you were to those kids . They get to see a top notch karate Sensei in action WOW!!! Random acts of kindness make the world go round . Those kids looked like they were loving it . Great job ! 👍
Absolutely loved that idea at the end. What you taught them, asking the kids to put together for a movie fight scene. I think a few instructors will be pinching that idea lol....again excellent video
I love this video, it's always nice to see new people experiencing karate for the first time. I feel like those of us who are of a higher grade need to see stuff like this to show where we all began to give us the appreciation of the work we have put in as well as the work of our fellow students and senseis.
I love it Jesse, I think I'll use some of the games you showed to teach my kids. Our school tries to keep our feed low to reach the kids of families who may not be as well off. Maybe one day you can visit us here in Bermuda.
Yeah, encouraging and making trainings more like a game is the best way to attract kids and teenagers to martial arts. And when you've already won their hearts, you can really teach them.
The action movie exercise for the end was an AWESOME idea. Fantastic engagement, tests knowledge retention, and super fun and memorable. I'll remember that the next time I teach a kids class.
It's inspired me,that the kicks and defence it's wonderful. I am learning karate and whenever I saw your video's it's motivated and inspiring me and all the karate students. It's great sensei oss.............!
This seminar looks so fun, I remember when I was 11 my Judo sensei has us do alot of fun standing drills like the slapping hands one you had, tag, and some fun neweza, after that I've had this fascination for martial arts, and teaching methods👍
It was great that you caught on that it was a free seminar! The fact is that this was a real benefit to the community and you are correct, if more of us Martial Arts professionals seized this moment and shared our training with others, we would be living to the highest standards of the martial artist which is to become a better contributing member of society. I will try to emulate this beautiful example. Congratulations Sensei!
Not just the karate world, the whole martial arts community. I have been training in Pencak Silat for 5 years now, picked up Escrima, Jeet kun do and Pangamot about 1,5 years ago and started doing a new style of Silat and Karate 6 months ago. And never have i stopped thinking about all the ways a single technique could be used. My old teacher used to say "we have a 1000 techniques, and a 1000 ways to do and every one of them". Being open minded and just try new thing makes someone a much better person and martial artist. I love new techniques and styles of fighting because every single thing i learn is something i can analyze and dissect to find the idea behind the technique. Understanding why and how a technique was formed makes all your skills better.
Thank you for posting this Jesse. I have been in the Martial Arts for 38 years and got a new perspective and outlook from this video. Excellent job. The kids thoroughly enjoyed your seminar ( and so did I ) I'm sure the teens all learned a lot and had fun doing so.... Thanks again for reminding me to have a beginners mind..... looking forward to seeing more of your videos ☺🥋🥊
Damn the video was quite refreshing... honestly, I never saw a lot of ground-based grappling stuff in karate and you just opened my eyes to a new side of karate I've never seen.
That was really nice of you! You are a great example to The Martial Arts community. I always find your videos very informative even tho I practice Ju-Jitsu, there are so many Techniques that you discuss that are transferable to my art as well. Osu...
Your an awesome guy Jesse! Helping these kids to have fun and learn Karate basics. They look like they had a blast. Mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian) and much Aloha...from Hawaii!
That was so cool. After 9 years of Shorin Ryu I moved to a mix form of Karate and finding new ways to do Kata I did before and turning it into bunkai has been so much fun. I went in with open heart and mind and have not regretted it.
Amazing! What you said about going into something with no preconceived notions really got me thinking about how I should approach future lessons, not just in Karate. Thank you!
Excellent format and lesson plan execution ! (In my opinion) knowledge- preparation- POSITIVE re- enforcement with student/teacher engagement- WORK and finishing with re-examination of the days objectives. A great learning experience for students and teachers alike ! I'm smiling on the inside too ! 👊❤
I love Denmark and was fortunate enough to visit last year. There sure do a lot of things right and your seminar is just another great thing they do well!
I liked this video a lot!!! I hope you come to Venezuela when our current situation is finally gone. And... checking the title brought into my memories a quote which say: "The white belt and the black belt are just the same thing, because the white belt is the beginning of the technique, and the black belt is the beginning of understanding the technique".
I love your enthusiasm in the way you teach! It’s also fantastic to see some grappling and ground based techniques as karate gets so much bad press for not always including this especially now MMA is so popular. Didn’t realise you had a brother who is an MMA fighter till I saw when of your videos with him the other day.
Amazing seminar. I had so much fun watching those kids learn. Gamification of learning is really good. and regarding your next seminar location, please consider visiting Chennai, India.
+1 for Australia. Although take care with covid! You might get stuck in a quarantine hotel, although we all know you have a good set of exercises to do in hotel rooms!
Your creative ways of attracting kids into Karate is really amazing! Really gives us some ideas of what we can do in our own dojo. Great video and one of the most enjoyable seminars I've seen 😄😄😄
I love yours videos, your channel is magnificent. Thank you very much for sharing your Karate in each of your videos. Ossu sensei Jesse. Greetings from Mexico.
You are so good i love you! Im starting to teakwondo next weak becuse you make me do starting martial arts becuse of you good videos!!!🥰😎😎❤️💙 and Im from Denmark!
I always enjoyed working with the beginners. A tabula rasa, or fresh slate to work from. For some reason I always got tasked with the kids. The hardest part about teaching kids, is them knowing left from right ! Kind of miss it. Master has been bugging me for years to stop by and help instruct. Might take him up on it one of these days. After I relearn everything I have forgotten that is. But I have three young ones at home, and they are about ready to train. So we will learn together.
I just went by my old club today and found out that you've been there/here in Ringsted - Denmark last year during Covid.. Def. wish that I had been there. :D And now after watching the video I have to beat my little brother for not telling me since he was there. The kid with the black mohawk at 3:26. It's crazy awesome that you did what you did. Thank you so much man. Love your channel, and the more I see, the more I truly respect you as a person in this world. :D Keep spreading the good word. ;)
Well done as always this is what true fighting is about to better oneself gain sharpness to always be positive and moving in cool way and efficient manner.confindence if anyone and the will to learn there are no limits on success no matter what level keep going strong and all the best
My teacher, Sensei Peter Urban, called the brown belt level "the jumping off point", because at that point they quit because they think they've "learned it all"...very sad.
I would love to have you visiting my country! I live in Belgium and I practice traditional Taekwondo, which originally came from karate. It would be an amazing experience for my students to learn where their art comes from!
Beautiful video. Made me pine for the days when I was a karate noob! Really inspirational Jesse. Denmark is a nice place. Was there in 1996. Wish I'd made it to Sweden whilst I was there.
Hello! Jeese! It was a good thing to learn there in Japan, in the culture, to meet great Masters to learn the real spirit and technique from them. I am 49 years old I missed a lot of time (family) but now I start training at home the inspire part.thanks josef
