My First Look at JEREZ de La FRONTERA!

Today I'm traveling by bus from Seville to Jerez de La Frontera, which is part of Cadiz. It's famous for the Sherry and Brandy wines. It's not a place that sees a lot of vloggers, so it should be interesting to film here. Several more videos to come form this city in the Southwest part of Spain. Today I get my first look at the city.

Hi Kerry, in case anyone doesn't know, Sherry is an English misspelling and mispronunciation of Jerez, which i believe the English used to call Shiraz, but then even got that wrong and called it Sherry !! To be able to call your wine Sherry, it has to be made in the Sherry Triangle, between Jerez, San Lucar and Puerto santa Maria , all near by ! J

Estación del Prado de San Sebastián. Nice murals. Jerez is a nice town. You are right about Plaza de Armas. Dodgy people, it is a common trait all over the World. Dodgy people and Train/Bus stations.

Estacion del Prado de San Sebastian is a really nice little bus station, I prefer it to the Plaza de Armas. Which is full of dodgy characters. You're right, these bus stations seem to attract the seedier types.

As a travel RU-vidr, how can you go to Jerez and not realise until past the mid point of your video that sherry comes from Jerez? The spanish for sherry is litterally jerez.

I can't know everything Luis and I'm not much of a drinker actually. I prefer to learn as I go and I don't see anything wrong with that. Living in Malaga, I knew mostly about the sweet wines and not Sherry. Now I'm happy to have tried different Sherry's and to have learned about Jerez and it's products.

@@TravelAddictGuy Yeah Kerry, how could you not know about the British shelling and massive death they caused in June - July 1797 when they extorted Jerez to end their blockade on Cádiz. That´s completely independent of their land theft of Gibraltar and their failing attempt at language takeover with English in Spain, down today to an amazing low of 9%, which is coming to a slow but satisfying end due to their self-inflicted Brexit. How could you not know?

@@NewLife2028 Because I'm not Spanish my friend and we did not learn that in American history class. D you know about the Revolutionary war in the USA or the Civil War? There is a lot of different history in this world. This is a travel channel, not a history channel.
