Love the throwbacks to old videos. I watched phly for years before I was able to get war thunder. I probably wouldn’t have it if I didn’t watch him.

Well, speaking of first love, today I unlocked the Chi-To (4.7 medium tank) and it is instantly in my heart. It does everything that I loved in the Chi-Nu, but better. Hell, it can penetrate " *EVERYWHERE* " the front of the T-34 which deseves the judgment from Japanese tanks. Its armor isn't the best, but 75 mm is good for most of the time

Mine too dude. One of the main reasons I started playing this game was to "get a Corsair". And I have. A few. In my opinion, it's the second most beautiful aircraft ever built, second ONLY to the F-14 Tomcat. :)

Crazy man, F4U-1C was my first love as well. To this day it's my highest scoring plane. I started in 2014.

The 1C is my favourite fighter. Those 20mms are good for CAS and air combat, and performs amazingly. I really enjoyed it!

I remember when I first heard you say “like killing babies in a basket”. I cracked up so hard! I also recall commuting Sudoku being thumbnails of old videos for other games on War Thunder channels at the time. These reminisces are great. Thank you!

First love was the spitfire Mk1, the sight and sound of her coupled with that amazing high altitude capability and agility will always make her my overall favourite.

If you go on sweden with the R3 on the north side you can sail around in the water. you can reach anywhere for some reason.

The Corsair is a beautiful, graceful plane. I've got a radio controlled model of an F4U-4 Corsair and she is a model that has presence in the sky. The wingspan is only 1.2m (4ft) but she has grace and presence that models a lot larger struggle to acquire. She commands attention when you do a low pass over the runway. It's the gull wings that give her the presence. Given nicknames like Ensign Eliminator and Whistling Death, the early Corsairs were almost as deadly to their own pilots as they were to the enemy. After a few modifications to sort out stall characteristics, the Corsair managed to get an 11:1 KD ratio against the Japanese air forces in the Pacific theatre.

just today i was playing the f4u and was dogfighting a 109. even after getting absolutely riddled with holes i still kept flying and by the end almost made it back to base. the 109 sent a message saying "brother your plane was flying on gods will" hahaha. i love this plane

The F4U-1C is my favorite too! For different reasons though. It was my main plane when I used to play Aces High years ago. It’ll always have a place in my heart too.

F4U actually is the fighter I play the most, and because I start play US planes first it is the first mid tier navy fighter I got.

M24 with planes 2.3-3.7 is still my main squeeze. I always come back to this combo after breaking my keyboard

I never really played air, Only since last year, I started researching planes from the British spitfires, to the Russian IL-2 and the amazing BF-109. But nothing has made me love flying like the F4U corsair’s. The 1C, even without bombs, is amazing at all combat

I love the chaffee. I can start with it and go the whole match holding down a flank in the forest. Spot enemies and take opportunity shots. No one flanks my team.

I like to use Air Targets belt on tanks on those 20mill, it doesnt kill but it just blacks out everything on tigers and panthers, takes one or two crew members as well

Today I was playing the Bf-109 F-4 and had killed two jets at BR 7.0, I had fallen in love with that plane so well especially with the 15mm gunpods. I would love to see a video on the 109 F-4

Hey Phly that last map you were on, i just recently found a way to break it. you gotta use a floaty boi, and do sneaky floaty boi tactics. swim across the widest part of the harbor, at the edge of the map, to the enemy's side of the harbor. nobody ever looks that way cuz why would they expect anyone there. the battle is in the opposite direction. so, you can swim across to the other side and just get beautiful side shots all day. especially when you spawn on the south side, cuz there's a little bridge across the river that the north team has to take, so they gotta slow down to turn and line up with the bridge, and even if you miss your chance on the bridge, they might stay along the road on the coast which is all just begging for free side shots. i did this with the chinese lvt zis2. it worked beautifully until an enemy following close behind another enemy saw where my shot came from and got me, but i got some nice free kills until then. pro tip, don't try to shoot while you're in the middle of the harbor where the water is rough. it's way too bouncy to get a shot and you'll just blow your cover. you gotta swim across to the calmer water on the enemy's side, pretty much up against the beach at the very least before you start taking shots. even though it's super tempting, you just gotta be patient. you can however mark the map for your team while you're busy swimming, cuz it does take a bit of time to cross. not a crazy amount of time, but enough that you'll see enough enemies go over that bridge and along the coast that'll just make you drool, but don't worry, you'll have plenty of opportunity to get respawners or super slow cautious tanks that finally decide to push out of their side of the map. and when you think there won't be any more spawners, there's a convenient little path up through the wall on the beach in front of you that you can eventually sneak up completely behind the enemy where they'd have no reason to ever believe someone would be cuz, again, nobody would ever be there, unless you're a rare sneaky floaty boi. the hardest part about this whole tactic is that you gotta very quickly get into the water cuz players do usually look at each other's coasts, so you gotta hurry and get past the area general direction they'll be looking at, but don't worry, that's mostly further up the coast, away from where you're jumping into the water at, which is against the edge of the map. i just get a good run up along the road, and use the retaining wall as a ramp and yeet myself into the water. the next scary part is that an enemy plane might see your white water trail as you swim, but they're usually focusing on the field where the caps are cuz it's easier to spot tanks there, meaning that even the planes will usually be looking far enough away from where you're at. but if you're extra scared, you could just stop for a bit until they die or rearm. (also for extra stealth, you could put a blueish camo or blue decals on whichever floaty boi you wanna go with. Day 1 of suggesting this fun sneaky floaty boi tactic

The P-47 D-28 is mine in game. That thing climbs like crazy and the 8 MG ripps people up.

I used to do ridiculous boom and zooms with the early models of the f4u. One of them was so epic (three kills with a single dive to climb bounce), I was going to submit it to thundershow... But then the game updated before I could get around to converting to video lol.

Oh yeah I used to love the Corsairs Hellcat and B17 back in the CBT when doorgunners where actually shooting on enemys in Air AB. Not like today with only blind crew members that cant see a target that is 201m behind your plane. Back in the days when there was only Rank 1-10 and not 2.3 2.7.... (that made me quit playing WT for almost 3 years) I still remember the days when there wasnt even a Matchmaking system, when i flew my Buffalo against mig 15 and stuff =8-) Even today i like to fly the Corsairs, they also have a pretty good bombload. Good to see there is still someone who remembers the good ol days! :) BACK IN THE ANCIENT DAYS WHEN IT WAS KNOWN AS "World of Planes"!

@PhlyDaily, the m24 at 3.7 is godly when up tiered to 5.3… I used it to cheek shot so many t-34 85 tanks and manage to kill them with it. Definitely worth a try for skilled players that want a challenge. You can only weak spot most tanks in it.

I absolutely love this plane and I’m coming back to war thunder this weekend after losing my pc back in 2014. Been too long but I’m looking forward to flying again. I’ll definitely be going for this plane.

Hey Phly! You should check out the Italian C13 T90! It was the vehicle that got me my phirst nuke, and I’d like to see it and the ABUL/74 (specifically the 90mm) on the channel! The combo means in any terrain you can get to a sneaky spot, and scout phor tons of SP! (Day 62) (But play the Hawk III first)

i recently commission built a model kit of one of these, i used the warthunder model as a reference, its not absolutely correct but it just looks fantastic.

Can you play with the A-36 with gun pods. The gun pods allow the plane to shred anything in its path

I am sooo glad I spent the time to unlock the AU-1 which is basically an F4U-1C but with alot of bombs and abit of underside armor, I have managed to outsmart spitfires in that thing and generally get a ton of kills per spawn my best k/d for sure.

4.7 is really fun-fun br. Matches last long too, love it.

hey phly I've been a fan of your channel for a long time but idk if you know this but in any of the corsairs you can use the landing gears as speed breaks. Just thought id throw that out there.

try the p51 mustang with the hispanos at br 3.7 or 3.3 i believe, absolute monster in air rb, especially if you go high altitude after bombers when match starts
