Crewed one of those many years ago as the track commander. Far more fun playing with the real thing even if it was a lot more work. They are supposed to float, yes.
@@thegermanmagpie3774 Officially the Squad Leader and the person in charge of the vehicle and crew. In Army slang most things with tracks were called a "track" and the guy in charge was the TC or "track commander".
I was a Stinger (16S), but got to fire one back in 1992 at Sea Range in Korea with 5/5 ADA, 2ID. Wasn't as cool as the Bradley I got to shoot later back ConUS, but the BRRRRRT will never get old. LOL

it would appear that the lack of amphibious capabilities is a bug regarding the M163. The official War Thunder channel has a video named "Amphibious tanks / War Thunder" where the amphibious capability is demonstrated at 1:51
Why are you so naive? They have to pay the developers, the rent of offices, servers, employees etc.. You almost do pay for the air you breath in a modern world do you think this game should be free forever?

although the M113 was designed to swim with no modification (except the front board that has to be angled forward to deflect water away) it has a weight limit. the anti-air modification makes it too heavy to swim

The M163 is great, it just suffers from lack of range just like IRL. The radar isn’t very good either but usually if you listen close enough you won’t need passive search radar

Honestly you might want to take out the T92. Since I got parts, FPE, and HEAT for it I have completely fallen for it, it’s survivability is surprisingly high and I have eaten multiple ATGMs and 100mm+ shells and still been able to return fire and kill what’s shooting at me. It’s an oddly fun vehicle to play (considering it’s war thunder).
Are you going to try the starfighter ASA? Combines the good points if both Italian starfighters and puts them into one plane, the only top tier vehicle. Keep up the good work phly!
Seriously though, anyone have any pointers on how to survive these AA systems? It seems to be a catch 22, you either go high so you can see your targets and get picked off by missiles, or you come in low and fast giving you a very limited window to spot, line up and drop your bombs. I can't seem to get the hang of it at higher tiers. And yes, i've tried getting good :P
With anti air from 9.0 and below I tend to just come in fast enough to get my cars runs in but when leaving the target area spiral/ rolling scissors away from any anti air. They’ll either be using their radar to aim and the rolling in a spiral really throws off their aim. I tend to never get short down unless it’s air user rounds.
I’m at 7.0/7.7. I’ll usually start high. Wait for them to start shooting at a friendly or something to spot them. Then swing in low and strafe them with bullets. Me262 squad plane German btw
Unlocking t95 then unlock m163 looking forward to having some better tanks. M42 isn’t great AA works better as an unarmored autocannon. M56 can be nice but again no armor so
Hey phly I’ve just been playing random vehicles in random lineups and one vehicle I personally have had a fun time with and nobody plays is the MARS15, it’s an 8.0 interesting light French tank. I just think you should give it a shot :)
