Water shoes are absolutely brilliant. Best of both worlds between socks and shoes, as you maintain most of the feeling of the pedals but you get a little support and more grip.
I started using "water" shoes after I upgraded from the Fanatec V3's to the HPP PRX SE pedals...They are hydraulic and require a LOT more force than the V3's needed! I tried sneakers and other types of shoes and found the water shoes to be the most comfortable and while still giving me good pedal feel.
Pedals are the most important thing in simracing. I have some difficulties trail braking in Iracing with the fanatec CSL elite, but my house is to small and I need my desk. Expensive pedals will not work for me because you need a stationary sim rig. I fixed my desk against walls so I can use my simucube wheel tho. But when I am able to have a stationery simrig I would buy good pedals immediately.
Hi, yes clearly not easy when you don't have the rig... when you're going to be able don't hesitate to contact me if you need any informations ;) : thibault@venym.com
Went from CSL pedals to those Venym. I'm loving them, despite spending 200€ over my initial budget, I wouldn't regret a second my choice over competitor pedalsets.
I personally went from TP3A to CSL Elite + LC, then to Fanatec V3s, and now to VRS pedals. Every upgrade was worth, but the biggest step up was getting the Fanatec V3. For the price, they are soooo much better than the pedals below them. The VRS are obviously better, but they were an headache to install on my GT Omega Art cockpit (i needed to buy a different pedal plate and build up a DIY heel rest) and they give me like 30-40% more satisfaction than the V3, while the V3 gave me double the satisfaction the CSL+LC used to. So my advice is: if you can afford it without a thought, go for the more expensive pedals, but if you have the V3 (possibly with the perfomance kit), a more expensive pedal set like the VRS/Asetek/Venym would sizably - but not radically - improve your driving experience.
Shoes for sure, but I use like a light breathable indoor type shoe like super light but grippy on the bottom they were cheap like 20 bucks but shoes for sure I tried socks only and it felt weird.
Pedals are 100% worth it. First upgrade I would recommend. But you need a solid mounting solution which drives the price up for entry into higher end load cell pedals.
They look nice, the mechanisms look very similar too the Heusinkveld Sprint I have and the price is comparable, so I would imagine they have a similar feeling too (which is awesome). I use soft slippers which are pretty much like socks with a harder sole. Might also be a good midway between socks and shoes for you.
I must use shoes I cant manage it without, I learnt to ride without glvoes cause you inspired me and now i have calluses. Those 11Nm and 911gt3 or 720s are ruthless. Who would have believed that you can have calluses from playing computer games :D
I use CSL elite pedals and with the full rubber face on them socks are ok. On my g29 pedals socks are too slippery. Bare feet works as well but I have a set of Moradness (good Canadian boy, as I am) socks, but can’t walk comfortably. Great for racing though. Water shoes would be my preference but haven’t got around to buying any. Ironically I live 400 metres to the ocean. And finally I find shoes too bulky. Good luck in your next races.
I myself drive the Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals with socks as we'll like you mate, i have them on 70 kg and well as stiff as they can be for precision. They are perfect for an mid tier sim racer who dosent go all in with something like you had there. But then on my friends rig i drove the Heusinkveld Pro pedals with 100 something kg braking force as my frien is pretty big and enjoys the high force for the brake pedal , i must say i kept my shoes on and the difference was like taking me out of a street car and putting me in a Tractor , the pedal was so stiff.!! 😁 But precision wise i was more consistent and i could brake further plus the trail braking was a lot easier at some corners and tracks as its stiffer and more precise. Throttle pedal as we'll it felt more stiffer and like youre pressing it under water or something the throttle modulation was precise straight away. So yeah , if i will upgrade one day to a crazy rig I will buy pedals like these as difference was like night and day, I felt like i was in a real race car for the first time in my life ♥️🥰🥰 Hope you enjoyed them and i hope you consider the move to these kind of pedals yourself in the future mate , as i can promise you wont be disappointed bud . Have a nice day, Love you 3000🍻
Shoes, driving shoes best suit spreading the pressure especially when doing 1hr plus. I inverted my cheap pedals to mimic real car angles and operations. The rig you are using is possible to modify to accommodate inverted setups.
@@mcole3591 because race cars as you know allow us to build the feet support and box by welding and in the case of the rig notice he already adjusted the pedal face to it's max and additionally he complained about the angle being straight. I know how to sort that because I would mount the purple angle adjusters on the opposite end or closer to his feet but that wouldn't solve the next problem which is heel support.
Socks, but I could be swayed to the shoes camp if it gets me those pedals. They sound like a quality item, and my next upgrade will be pedals but now it's even harder to choose... I can't believe how many choices we have these days for sim racing gear. When I first bought gear, a MOMO wheel was the item to have... we've come so far.
Ive been using the water socks/shoes ever since i got my csl load cell pedals as i didnt feel comfortable in socks. They are a amazing alternative to real shoes
I wanna say that in many countries we just dont have possibility to buy something good for simracing..for example im living in estonia and all we have here is Logitech or Trustmaster..and that sad couse sometimes u need to feel it to buy it (
Been driving with "water shoes" for a while, they are great. But they have one big negative Effect, since the rubber sole is so soft. It causes a real fine rubber wear of and that gets in to everything.
I got Heusinkveld Sprints for a few months now. Price wise they're pretty equal, same with adjustability. Documentation is very detailed. I set them at 30 kgs (out of the box 35 kgs) and they could go up to 65 kgs. I am a weak old man, though, so that's a no-go for me. Are they worth it? Yes. Both throttle and brake are a loadcell and very detailed in operation, miles beyond my previous G29. I still can't drive worth a damn, though.
I think using shoes is something to get used with like braking with left foot for example..uncomfortable at the beginning then you can't live without it..I have tried with race shoes but never went for it..i will tried with water shoes..;)
So your face is on the brake pedal hmm, I use nike insoles in my socks, And gloves for wheelchair users without fingertips too, i got the Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Ultimate+ Baseplate - Silver
He wanted to get it out a lot earlier but RU-vid said nope not having that, you will have to wait until we have time to process it and then made him wait a few hours :D
For the brake you could use the stick on grip material, just cut to suit the plate. I did this with my Fanatec v3 brake pedal so I could use a heavier brake force.
It’s because they are in their comfortable home sitting in a chair behind a computer monitor and not in the real thing. I understand what you are saying but your argument is as valid as saying everyone in simracing should put helmets on because of realism.. when you are simracing 8/12hours non stop, it’s way more comfortable in socks with some wind blowing on your toes then in racing shoes. Some people want realism, others want comfort, some want both and every one of those is fine, whatever you drive your best times in and feel good with! 🙏
The goal compared to entry level load cell brakes is to make you more consistent. Venyms are quite good and more or less at the same level as Sprints but with a higher force limit.
VENYM pedals are closer to the Ultimate one than the sprint, even better on the paper with a better electronic. And yes the price is close to the sprint one :)
@@savage5764 98 countries in the world have freedom. And the USA is the least free of all of them. Nice of you to brag about guns right after 19 7-10yr olds got wiped out. Oh and by the way, the Statue of Liberty is also French. Given to the US by France. Uneducated idiot.
@@Dutch-McLarenJk82- never stated that and you are dutch you have no room to talk atleast we have car manufacturers based in my country. what has the netherlands done for the world? oh wait nothing just like ww1 and ww2
