I tried to put as much as possible to this video! Sim Expo 22 was incredible. I had amazing time I was super happy with the new location. SPACE.
Just blown away by everyone being so nice!
I might do more videos from the Expo as I have quite a lot of footage and we also did really funny challenge with GamerMuscle so cant wait to share it next week :)

I had a job opportunity with Fanatec five years ago, signed a job offer and everything, but I couldn't get a visa worked out with the company. Part of me kicks myself for not trying harder to get the visa situation worked out and move from the U.S. to Germany. In 2017 we were talking about how big the potential is for sim racing to take off, and here we are in 2022, almost 2023, and it's gotten MASSIVE. I love it. I wish there was an opportunity to have a sim racing expo of some kind here in the U.S. so all of you guys and gals in the RU-vid space could come over here. Maybe one day. But in terms of this video, I agree with you that maybe more of the sims themselves like iRacing, ACC, rFactor, etc. should've had booths if they didn't. Cheers from the U.S.!

One of the best trips of my life. Amazing 3 days, met soo many amazing people. Love the simracing community, we for sure have the best of the bunch. Great idea to ask ACC, AMS, I-racing... to participate on the expo. The expo is on my bucket list for one of the coming years. I'm slowly making my wife ready to have a sim-rig at home.. it might still take some time though :-) 🙂

This year i can´t be on the Expo, but next year i´ll be there for sure to test dd wheels and rigs to get new stuff in 2024. I love to see how much fun you had there with the other guys it is a great community.

You are right, I missed especially the VR companies like HP, Pimak, Oculus and the others you namend as well. Big minus from my side, if you are lot taller than other people, it was nearly impossible to test anything, cause the rigs or the seats were build for small people.

Agree with Active Pedal. On brake it has real added value and not some gimmicky effects that you dont feel in real life, which is great though so you only need to save up for one pedal :).

What were your thoughts on the LA Prima? I will be going for my first DD setup in the new year and I like what Asetek is offering espcially with being able to use other manufacturer wheels and that you can upgrade the La prima to a Forte wheelbase.

I agree Jards. I was a bit disappointed with the stalls. No small 3rd party companies (e.g. 3d modding), no gaming companies. This expo was all about high end hardware. This industry will not do itself any favors in the long term if they only look at the big money without considering cheaper entry-level alternatives.

Not sure how it could be done, but it would be great to see some of the mod community at these events. Maybe sponsorship by the game companies to have a couple of the better modding teams at these events - reason: it would be fantastic to give them exposure and potentially bring them firmly into the commercial world, and it's such a big part of the ongoing world of sim racing too.

Still shaking my head at the sim racing ecosystem. So much money wasted on tech that peaked a long time ago. What do I mean ? Our hands/arms are touching the wheel, theres only so much sensory info we can interpret from that. Your butt is where you get the vast majority of info about a car. Instead of dumping money into more overpriced wheels, we need wired seat cushions. Anyone who's done a lap or 2 at a track will understand how well your butt informs you about the car. High Tech Durable Racing Cushions is what the sim world needs more then another wheel.

Quick question .. if you haven’t tried all the wheels how can you say gsi is hands down the best ? I tried it out and it’s definitely not worth that price point

Havent tried all in terms of simulator and such. But wheels Ascher Mclaren wheel and GSI is top in my opinion as far as i tried at expo
