I've been wondering for years when these electric boats were going to fully come to market. Most people spend a lot of their time on the water idling and wasting fuel, and if you live on the water, hauling jerry cans down to the dock is a big pain. Run power to your dock/shore station (or solar!!) and just plug it in every time you come in. While the sound of a big motor on the water is the sound of my childhood, when I'm sitting on the lake drinking a beer and the lake is busy, the sound of V8 just really changes the afternoon..."silent" boats will be awesome! Lastly, fast charging might be nice to go back out on the lake after lunch, but the reality is, these boats can just slow charge anytime they're not in use (which is a lot of the day, and all night) Exciting! (and expensive!!!)
Sorry bud, I’m keeping my loud 60 + MPH boat that can go all weekend on a tank of fuel having fun while you’re back at the dock charging your lame electric boat.
@@Shaun.Murray thanks! Unfortunately my channel's been dormant with any new content for quite some time...I don't know how you guys have the time to do it! I was making videos very early on when expectations for regular content releases were low (and so was viewership!) Cheers!
@@871jamie I get it, don't get me wrong, I grew up in West Michigan with a huge boating culture on all the inland and Great Lakes, the sound of big V8's across the water is the sound of my childhood and roots!
I’m betting since Nautique only builds the best that there will be some INCREDIBLE built into this boat nobody knew possible!! Shaun you make it look easy!! Nice!!
It was only a matter of time before an electric boat came to market. Tons of torque and low emissions to run it. Imagine just plugging in your boat at the dock instead of having to haul gas cans every time you go out, or even worse, paying for marina gas. Looks really sweet.
@@john-zf1yb I bet the batteries don't last but maybe 1-3 hours at best and towards the last 30% is a loss of power. Epic tried this a few years back. I think the electric motors are close but the batteries are a ways out for this .
@@john-zf1yb the current electric boat is aimed at customers who live on a lake and will have a charging setup on their personal dock. By the time everyone has electric boats, charging will hardly take longer than filling with gas. some electric cars are already close to breaking into the 15 min charge time.
@@briandhoward6137 True in a sense, but the battery lasts 2-3 hours. That is not including 1.5 hours of low speed idle time to idle back to the dock if it comes down to that.
Dennis S it’s not a small vessel plenty a room for batteries you can drive a Tesla 300 miles I think that should be a piece a cake maybe even a little longer than a tank of fuel My boats a pig thirsty bitch
@@poppacode303 if lithium no, they must be fully charged to use again otherwise you will destroy the battery life half charging then discharging again.
Murray has always been my favorite rider. Great POV video and look forward to seeing more on the GS 22e. Murray is a great ambassador for watersports, a great guy, and Nautique couldn't have a better rep for their brand. Keep up the great work!
Dude I got your 150cm Murray pro a few days ago. 4 of us went out and absolutely loved it. surface 180* and sliding is soooo good. We all suck but that board made everyone of us a little better that day.....Thanks
Board: Hyperlite Murray 145 Phrase: Pay it forward Still my favorite boarder after all these years. Still bust out my old Belmont and Double-up Nelson board here and there.
Wow that is something I've been waiting to see for years. I love the idea of charging the boat at the dock and heading out for the day. So convenient and ecological :)
Board: Hyperlite Murray 145 secret phrase: pay it forward Hey Shaun I’ve been watching you for a while and you have by far taught me a lot about wakeboarding and life thank you
Shaun, Met you back in 98 at bell aqua outside of Sacramento, seen you at a number of comps over 20 years and always been a huge fan. Thanks for being so great to your followers. Secret Phrase: PAY IT FOREWARD BOARD: MURRAY 146

I’ve been seeing these electric outboards on the market but this is another level,it takes a lot of power to run these boats, probly took a lot of extra engineering over electric automobile being as these may see saltwater.
Board - Hyperlite Murray 145 top secret Phrase - Pay it Forward super stoked to see how this progresses the rowboat industry. Defiantly a great way forward for a lot of boat owners.
Richard S So now we are going from a single GoPro sneak peak video like stated a million times to a full video production on the unreleased prototype. Idiot.
Boogie woogie lol. Really enjoyed lining up the POV and behind the boat clips together. Can't wait to see more! Board: Hyperlite Murray 145 Secret Phrase: Pay it Forward
I don’t know about the E-boat. One of my “loves” about my ‘92 Nautique is the rumble of that 5.8L 351. The sound has value and attraction. Call me old school, or just old, but I will stick with a gasser. SM- here’s your next challenge: lets see you ride a board with bindings setup slalom ski style.. and make it through the slalom course. Hyperlite Murray 145. Pay it forward.
Can’t wait to foil behind one of these, with out the air bubbles in the wake from the exhaust it will be smoother ride. It will be interesting to see what sort of prop they run as well hopefully larger doing less rpm.
Love the POV angle! Videos have me hyped up enough to try a tantrum this weekend! board: Hyperlite murray 145 and that secret phrase I believe was pay it forward
Secret Phrase... Pay it forward. A hyperlite Murray 144 was my first board 5 years ago and still ride it nearly every weekend. Love it but time for an upgrade :)
Board: hyperlite murray 145 Secret phrase:pay it forward You are awesome and I need to go back and watch more of your videos. my board is really old it would be great to have a nice board to ride.
Braap Mcleod you can compare the progress with Tesla who has managed to increase its battery life significantly since it started a long time ago....you could say that work has been paved already. And you need to start somewhere, 5 years hopefully it will be double.
OK, OMG, CAN'T CONTAIN EXCITEMENT ABOUT THIS!!!! SERIOUS GAME CHANGER AND I HAVE SOOOOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!! Would love to learn more about Watershed, also when can we see this thing on the market!? How man hours of riding behind a charge? Could you charge it with solar!? OMG. OMG. So excited. Seriously. This made my day like whoa!!!!
Hey Shaun. Thanks for all the great videos. I'm brand new to wakeboarding. Could you make a video on dock starts? How much slack should be in the line when the driver hits it? How hard does the driver need to hit it? Body position? Technique? Thanks again and ... enjoy "your" ride!
Driver should ease you off the dock and then the same as a deep water start. If you're on a slalom ski they need to be on the throttle a little harder if you wanna stay on top of the water.
Some of y’all have never had to wake up at dawn, drive to fill up a bunch of gas that invariably spill in your car, shuttle gas cans down a steep ass bluff to fill the boat, shake down that freeloading buddy for gas money just to get a glassy session and it shows! LOL.
I'm wondering if we'll ever see a dual Trax drive come to market like the trax on a snowmobile. The trax pattern might even help contour the wake better
Hi Shaun I am a starter at wake boarding and I wakeboard on a Chris craft I have not gotten up yet but I am close have you ever been to lake Martin in Alabama also what are some tips
Okay, this is legit. Curious about battery life and charge time.... More to come I'm sure. Thanks for the preview Shaun! Hyperlite Murray145 = Pay It Forward
A silent boat would be amazing and crazy fast with huge torque. The drawback would be if it got swamped with batteries, although sealed could be problematic. But with no engine, V drive, gasoline or sound it would be a game changer for the better. Basically NO maintenance! Only the drama queens with their loud engines would be on the water working on their future tinnitus ( ringing in their ears)!
Do the electric components (batteries, etc.) add any additional ballast to the overall weight when compared to a combustion/full tank of gas/traditional setup?
