Welcome to the South, Matt! I've lived here my whole life and my brain still goes fuzzy after about 12 holes when it's really hot and humid out. Love the full 18 course vlogs - letting us know what's in your head regarding stance, lie, shot shape, etc. Enjoy your new home!

Love the course vlogs. First time playing any course is always tough. In a couple of weeks when the greens speed up and knowing where to hit the ball you will go out and pick up 10 strokes the next time you play.

No worries. We all have bad days. You really practiced what you teach. The blow up hole uploaded you did was put to practice on this day. I recently had a few bad holes one round and let the bad hits leave my mind. The following 178 par 3 and hit a nice 7-iron about 4 feet from the hole. BIRDIE!! Keep the videos coming, you really help my game.

I played a course a couple weeks ago where I actually had to fix my pitch marks on the green. Something I wasn't use to but actually was very happy to see. Place I play a lot is really dry so it doesn't leave a mark and the ball can take some terrible bounces right off the green and on this other course, they stayed on. Anyway! Congrats on the move! Hope everything goes well in the new place for you and your family!

Love your vids too, Matt. As a PA native son, relocated to Okinawa Japan (super hot and humid), I can empathize too. It’s brutal and it does actually affect your ability to think; especially if you’re not used to it. You’ll probably find greens less predictable too. Humidity makes them play like morning dew, but ones exposed to some wind might play faster etc.
@aldorebanal9240

Being a SoCal guy myself I can empathize with you on the humidity. Work travel had me in Orlando every August for the past 15 years. I always brought my clubs and every time I played golf I swear I was ready to quit at the turn because of the heat and humidity. Anyways, congrats on the move and keep the awesome vids coming.

Matt, Welcome to the great state of Georgia. Yes, Humidity, High Temps, and unfamiliarity can make for a unique and frustrating day. I will say that playing Golf in the Northern part of the state is much different once you get to the Macon area and South. Glad you enjoyed your time to Lake Arrowhead Golf Club. How long are you going to be here in Georgia? I'd love to have you come to play my home course, Hamilton Mill. If you're still here in Georgia, please let me know. You should come to Augusta while here in Georgia. Forest Hills would be nice if you like fast greens but aeration of the greens started today. But West Lake or Mount Vintage which is located across the river in North Augusta would also be good courses to play. The key to playing in Georgia is get an early tee time before it gets hot.

Do you know about the "dead edge"?? If you are putting on Bermuda look for the part of the hole that is kinda dead looking. The grain grows TOWARDS that side around the hole. This helps a lot as ball slows around cup. Also pay close attention to grain of the green, dark is into it and shiny is down grain.

Hey man, we should play sometime. I am a 10 HCP and live in Kennesaw/Acworth. 2 good courses you could try: (1) Cobblestone - top 100 public courses in the USA has few holes around lake Acworth which are beautiful scenery, (2) Governors Golf Course - is private but they are doing 'member for a day' and usually runs about $55-65. Gorgeous course and very easy to get a tee time.

Whenever the greens are aerated, I do not pay attention to my putting because greens will mess you up. We all have days like this Matt,plus when I play a new course, I expect 3 to 5 more wasted strokes do to local knowledge.

I live near this course. The first couple of times playing here are so challenging because you really need to know the layout to score well. The greens are usually a medium speed, but much faster than they were in that video. It’s a tough course with a fairly high slope rating as well.

Matt, the way I've been playing, I would be more than happy with an 82. Hell I would probably buy the first round!! I know it may not be cost effective, but it would be nice if public courses would put a detailed layout of the holes on their website at least. It would be nice to know the ins and outs of a hole especially the green before you get to the t-box.

Welcome to the south Matt. Don't worry it takes a little while to get used to the heat, humidity and different type of grass. There are a lot of courses around however that have much faster greens that are more like what you are used to. I am in Florida so we deal with very hot and humid temps as well but I kind of like it. You just have to stay hydrated with a lot of water. Very interested to hear why you have moved and what you have going on in the future with the golf. If you are ever inclined to come to the Orlando Fl. area we have a lot of great courses here I would like to show you around. Love your channel and videos and glad to see you have some new adventures coming. Put in the back of your mind the you tube channel Grip it, Rip it, Chip it. That is my little golf channel. If you are ever in central Florida you can contact me through the channel if you want to get together to see some courses. Good luck with whatever you have coming up.
