My First Shepard!! | Mass Effect Legendary Edition Part 1 | First Playthrough 

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all the love on my first Mass Effect videos. I'm kind of in awe of all of you who took the time to say something nice or leave a helpful comment. I'm still gradually figuring things out and wrapping my head around how the universe works and a number of you were so kind. If no one has mentioned this. -Dialogue options on the left of the wheel always give you more information and won’t advance the conversation forward. -Dialogue options on the right of the wheel advance the conversation forward. So the options on the left will most likely be lost.

I never see anyone comment about it, but this trilogy has some of the best voice acting.

Unless there's a timer, there's no rush. Wander around everywhere. You'll find all kinds of things that are either useful or valuable. Decrypting things get you experience points, which makes it easier to level up.

This trilogy completely changed the way I view video games back in 2013. The fact that your choises carry throughout the trilogy was just mind blowing to me.

Haha, even as a veteran player, I still spend nearly 30 minutes choosing a class and customizing Shepard’s face every time I start a new playthrough.

They actually tell you how a pilot plot's a relay jump within the first 2 minutes of the game. While shepherd is walking upto the cockpit, you can hear joker over the intercom as he's telling the relay where he wants to jump to and how much mass he wants jumped. Afterwards he also mentions drift. This is referring to relay drift. The more mass that is transported through a relay, the further away from the exit relay the ship will be.

Gosh, that opening sequence with the tunnel camera following Shepard to the bridge of the ship is still, I dare say, Legendary. With the amazing score, it just thrust you immediately into the world and hammered home that you were about to embark on something BIG. This was BioWare storytelling at its prime. Also, this is a very story driven game. I would recommend as such that you make maxing out Charm or Intimidate your first priority with skill points. Choose one or the other but not both. Either one will unlock flavorful dialogue options that can enable much more positive outcomes to social encounters.

Exciting times! It's a trilogy every gamer should experience at least once in their lifetime. I'm only jealous I can't play the trilogy for the first time again :) Few words of advice: 1) be sure to read up on the "Codex" in the menu for really nice voiceovers on various lore elements in the game. 2) be sure to take in as much of the dialogue that this series has to offer (you will, after all, be listening to dialogue for the better half of the series. 3) try to complete as many side quests as possible, as many of them can open up additional dialogue options and have an impact on certain story milestones throughout the game/trilogy as well as character relationships. 4) as this is an RPG series, it does get a bit complex (the first game more so than the sequels in terms of it being more attuned to having hardcore RPG elements that affect both gameplay and storytelling alike). Nontheless, it is worth spending a little time here to get yourself accustomed to some of these elements (tutorials do an adequate job explaining this stuff imo) 5) Take Your Time and have fun!!!

Oh goodness, a sharp and thoughtful person playing Mass Effect for the first time. It seems like a good way to get to know a person, to watch them think through the kinds of dilemmas this game throws at you. I'm excited to watch, thank you for sharing and good luck!

I'm always happy for players who get to know this great universe for the first time. A little hint, in case you haven't noticed it yourself, you need a party member on your team who always has a max level on decryption and electronics, if you really want to open all the boxes on your travels. Otherwise it is difficult to give advices. In ME there are key situations that can end badly if you don't know beforehand what to do or what to look out for. I don't want to spoil your gaming experience but i hope you will be spared from unexpected disappointments. Btw. You're very sympathetic! I like your calm and relaxed manner. And your voice... *** awesome! I have goosebumps!

I like that you're taking your time with this. This is not a game to rush through, but to absorb and enjoy the story-telling and lore. Once you begin to get attached to the characters and story, then you are hooked. No looking back from there.

As a longtime fan of the series your take on the game is so refreshing and fun to listen to, and your cozy commentary is definitely something I've been looking for for a while. it's definitely more common for youtubers to be more... loud, for lack of a better word, and sometimes I need something to chill to while still enjoying a let's play. Also, lovely kitties :3. I think I've found a new favorite channel to watch :D

This was a blast. I haven't replayed the original Mass Effect in years, and I really forgot just exactly how much the opening blew my mind. I got chills watching you play it! And I love seeing someone spend as much time as I do on character creation!

I am not going to lie, I hate when people say they never played this game. This game should be played non-stop before the legendary edition because it was good before it. It is sooooo good, and helped a lot of people (including me) in a hard time in life. Omg, I am just jealous. I wish I can replay this with no knowledge of what is going to happen but I can't. I hope you enjoy it because I did, and if you don't *teardrop*. This game is just so precious to me.

I'm so happy to see people who've never played it get in to ME! The trilogy is my favourite game franchise and universe of all time (I've replayed the third game no joke about 20+ times), and I know you're gonna have a wild ride! The characters and stories are going to have many arcs, even the npcs! So always keep an eye out for reacurring things when you get to the other games. I love watching people play this series for the first time. It’s such a good series. As far as character creation it is true that your character will never look quite normal. My most recent character looked ok in me1, horrendous at times in me2, and I actually got a pretty decent look in me3

Mass Effect has been, and prob always will be, my all time favorite game series. the story, the characters, the universe, the lore, the gameplay, absolutely everything about it. no other game has left me with the same feeling. it's honestly hard to describe. this game leaves you different than when you start it. and I love seeing people play it for the first time. i hope you love it as much as i have.

Loved the video! It's always exciting seeing someone dip their toes into Mass Effect for the first time, it's a great experience. The commentary is good and I'm sure you'll grow into the gameplay in time. The games are definitely worth a replay so don't stress and take your time, get yourself immersed, talk to people, explore the lore and enjoy the journey!

One of my favorite trilogy games, glad you are playing it, to me it just gets better and better as the games go on, this will be a long journey but well worth it, enjoy

Fun fact: even the character backstories are secretly Paragon or Renegade choices: "Spacer" and "War Hero" are each worth a couple Paragon points, while choosing "Earthborn" and/or "Ruthless" earns you Renegade points. (My "headcanon" Shepard is an Earthborn War Hero, so she starts out with a little of each. ;) )

Stumbled on you while watching news about legendary. I’m not disappointed, I’ll enjoy watching your play through in the future. It’s not everyday I get to watch somebody play ME for the first time ever. Especially since I’ve played these games multiple times and this brings all the nostalgia.

Just a suggestion, when you have time look up another video of someone playing this section briefly, at around 1:13:35 you missed a key part of something very cool in the sky that Kaiden calls out and it's integral to what you'll be facing later. I think the action kinda distracted you a bit which I don't blame you at all , it's so overwhelming at first! :D Looking foward to watching more

I love first playthroughs of MELE! It’s also how I experienced the games for the first time and it was an amazing experience, might peek back in now and then to watch your vids and see how you handled some of the big moments! (Also, fellow PlayStation player, holla!!)

Speech skills are Crucial. Shepards communication skill is potentially one of his/her most powerful abilities, if not the most powerful. BTW Bastion(prestige class) Adept was really durable, at least in how the game used to be. My first Shepard was a Sheploo Shotgun Bastion. Destroyed all opposition by biotic barrier soaking all damage, throwing goons around like ragdolls or immobilizing them and blasting anyone who got close with a shotgun blast to the face after warping them. Vanguard is cool though. Nyx is pretty Brutal though: Kaidan: What the hell are those? Jenkins: Gasbags, they are harmless. Nyx: Regardless, all animals must die! Jenkins gets shot and collapse on the ground... Nyx ignores his body and moves on.

I'm jealous of the first playthrough, I think I was like 12 when I played this game long ago, I still have the collector's edition box and art.

As for Mass Effect, I still wish I could go back and play it for the first time all over again, but I'm so glad this collection was released and it's a series that I still run across new things, bits of dialogue or encounters I hadn't before, in so I really hope you are enjoying the ride.

I'm so glad the Legendary Edition came into existence. Before it did my first and only experience was Mass Effect 3, yes I started the series at the very end which I've long since regretted.
