It’s been a minute since I’ve been to Los Angeles Chinatown. Some of the shop owners there are Cambodian Chinese. They have 1 or 2 Khmer Chinese restaurants. Wat Thai in North Hollywood has a weekend food stall, it’s a popular tourist destination. Good and cheap Thai food, mind you, cash only eh. I like Khmer Naga Street Food on Pacific Coast Highway, I’ve never been to Monorom. That’s nice of your friend to pick you up from the airport and drive to LAX, how do you know him?😀👍🏽

Welcome back!! I want to give you heads up but whenever you come to visit Lowell, MA I wouldn’t recommend Red Rose Restaurant. I used to work there… Food is overpriced than other khmer restaurants. They’re really cheap with meat portion. Boss is snobby and he’s touched me inappropriately before without my consent. It’s a super toxic place. Kao’s Kitchen is fairly new and i personally love their Kuyteav Phnom Penh. Simply Khmer is decent in my option but give it a try if you can. Peephuptmei Restaurant is also good food. Le Petit Cafe is known best in Lowell for Kuyteav Khor Ko with buttered french baguette on the side!

The bay area has a couple small Cambodian communities in oakland and san jose. Back in 90s and early 2000s it use be a spot in san francisco but its dead now. If you do come dont keep your belongings in the car.

Pat, Where are your wife and kid? I bet 90% of Donut Stores owned by Cambodia in California. They compete too much even two in one block. They don't want to move to other States to open the store. In DC metro, most of Donut Stores are Dunkin. I never see private store. Private store won't survive in DC because these American are very picky. Dunkin in DC metro makes very good money. I believe they can make more than $1000 a day. I don't recommend Hak Hieng restaurant for food. It is not that good except it has a live music. Good food is small restaurant or in Westminster.

I believe that day you witnessed the Pacific Air Show, Trump was visiting Anaheim so it was a huge event over there. He flew over Huntington Beach (Trump town) collabing with Pacific Air Show. My friends were there and filmed everything and the whole place erupted in massive cheer and celebration when his plane flew over.
