@nikola poyukov if everyone (who's not mentally disabled) is coachable, then the world shouldn't be what it is now. Like people who argues over some petty stuff on twitter, exposing each other, "cancelling" each other and such. I want to see your argument.
@nikola poyukov i guess i saw it from a different perspective. My bad. These people that i was talking about, in my opinion, lacks some coaching when it comes to how they see the world. They follow these ridiculous trend without thinking the consequences. That's just how i saw it. I wouldn't called it coaching but that's just what i can think of. Sorry to waste your time.
@nikola poyukov you are the definition of what that guy said not to be. Try to understand what he meant instead of coming up with an idiotic comment. We understand the obvious part of it, clearly he meant something deeper
Damn Larry's first strongman show and he came 2nd overall and only 2 Points away from first place Arnold classic invite. Proud of you bro, keep on grinding
@Mad Dog Fifi Yeah, fully clothed and with shoes on he was 278 pounds and he's about 6'0" flat, so yeah, a little on the small side. He needs to get up to at least 300 pounds and increase his speed and he'll be a threat.
You have to consider that he's just 24 and most importantly he isn't fully deficated to strongman competitions. He does Bodybuiliding, Powerlifting, RU-vid, travelling etc...
When people ask me why I lift weights I say: If god wanted me to be a good runner he would've built me tall and lightweight, if he wanted me to be a good swimmer I'd be tall and have a lung of a whale. But I'm rathter short, blocky with some muscles so I chose to pick up heavy things...😁💪
Thats super rare and i love it. People who are super agressive and act like they just smoked a fckn 8 ball to the dome all the time get old very quick.
Scary thing? Larry isn't even close to hitting his prime years yet!! He is the future of powerlifting/strongman events. He is truly a bonafide hybrid!!
@@nikolaboyadzhiev5897 oh okay thnx for the info. I just started watching a few of his videos so did not know. That sucks though maybe a nice recovery break would help him.
24 years old. I just turned 40 and I look up to this guy like he's older than me. You seem like such a cool dude Larry. Always setting new PR's and just having fun being a beast! Hope to see you crush all the competition in the future!
Lukeamania lol I’m 22 and I always thought Larry was like in his thirties he’s one of those guys that carries himself well very hard to dislike this guy. Think the only way you could dislike someone like him is if you have issues within yourself or if Larry makes you feel threatened which I feel like a lot of people in powerlifting and now this do.
I commented this on another video but Larry was the strongest there but also the slowest. He can squat and deadlift 200lbs more then the guy who won. He won all the static events, but placed badly in moving events. Brian Shaw didn't make finals till his 3rd years. 1 more year of training moving events and this will be a walk in the park
@@teamgroves5611 well I miss worded it. He placed very high in static events. Worst place was 2nd in a static event. Also because he ran out of time and techniques was off
He got second after an only couple of weeks of training. These dudes are training for their whole life. This dude in 5yrs will be one of the strongest people on the planet. And he is just 23,24. Larry, you have such a gift, and well done for getting out of your comfort zone brother! Keep it up!!!
He got 2nd because the promoters botched the tire event. And gave the men only 5 seconds to flip an 1,100lb tire. The reason that lame ass decision was made was because of the tire the promoters chose for the women was too light. And in turn became a marathon of a time suck for the women due to the ridiculous high reps they were doing. So to make up for the fuck up, the promoters decided to change the mens time limit to 5 seconds to make up for lost time. It was bullshit. Not to mention that they actually didnt even give Larry a full 5 seconds.
It's just great to see how Larry stays so humble and willing to learn while he is literally a realistic threat to everyone in the bodybuilding, powerlifting AND strongman world. His willingness to learn, combined with his amazing genetics and hard ass work make me look at him as pretty much the perfect athlete. I feel we should all appreciate the fact that he documents his whole inspiring journey, and I am pretty sure he is coming to a point where he can literally choose whether he wants to be a world-class bodybuilder, powerlifter or strongman. I hope you'll keep doing this for the rest of your life and you keep documenting every part of your journey. I am sure you'll achieve a lot more great things. Thanks Larry, me and your other fans wish you all the best and we will keep supporting you till the end of times.
It was great getting to Arm Wrestle with you a little bit Larry. You are a class act and a super powerful guy. Good luck in your pursuits of strength big dog!
29slowjoe no problem man. I’m actually gonna be starting an weekly arm wrestling Vlog pretty soon with lots of training content. I love teaching new people this stuff
@@Wes-pq4pl Random replies to irrelevant comments is not the way to promote your own content. Niceties don't change that. Relevance is key if you want to gain respect.
Not that it matters; really. Don't know what ya mean by "prime" lol. Twenties is prime. Dudes on testosterone and androl. He's never gonna have a fucking "prime" lol, it's always a prime for him. If he gets off he'll never have a prime either... He stated he'd be on gear forever or in his words "It's a lifetime commitment" if his health goes to shit and he gets off em.....?? He'll need to be on HRT indefinitely,,,,,,if he ever wants to f*** again and a steady dose a ED meds too. I ain't hatin on roids, peds or people that use..all a personal choice.. dudes a beast. Str8 up legend IMO from every single one of his battles in personal life to professional life and career
the videos with him and Thor are good. like this guy a lot because he is really good but also humble. good dude, i wish him all the best in competitions
Larry is indeed incredible but got to give props to his queen cheering him on the whole time. She never gives up on him she's just as stellar as he is.
@@koopapro yea I think way more women should support their men instead of complaining you going to the gym again? I mean how he supposed to get better if he don't put in work? Hell he'll get better faster if you support him along the way.
@@DevaJones03 It really helps that they share that same interest, so they are able to spend time TOGETHER, while he's getting all his work in. It's a great situation, and it's nice to see them together from time to time in the videos.
@@michaelnorth5528 thats true but even if they didn't share the same interests something tells me she would still be at the competitions. I think thats where lots of people go wrong, time management because yea I've seen them in the gym together but thats not really time together at least not to a woman...because she aint over there by him she don't lift no where near the amount he does so they are just in the same room. time together is a little deeper than that.
@@michaelnorth5528 thats somewhat true. however a woman like that is a lot like me regardless of interests you'll be there for the competitions and whatever else. hell I've seen videos of them together at the gym...thats not really time together at least not to a woman. what i mean is in the videos he is concentrating on the weights and his training partner. they don't really train together because they train so differently. they are really just in the same room. to a woman time together is when the guy is actually concentrating on you. fyi for future reference. but this video is totally different, its not just seeing "her" its seeing her profess her love with support and motivation. thats the beauty of it.
This right here has inspired me to surpass my pr I'm 16 and my coach is very supportive to me and I have been inspired by this video I watched it all the way through I've seen all his fans and I hope to see myself in these events in a couple of years. Shooting for competition.
The best part about all of this is the learning process. I'm learning so much just by watching and I'm 2 years older, played football for 13 years and only hoping to achieve what this dude will achieve. I love this shit. Keep it up Larry, you're the bee's fookn knees my guy!
Same here, to me bodybuilding and powerlifting just aren't on the same level. I still like to keep up with bodybuilding and like to know who's doing the big powerlifting weights but i just cant watch it like i can strongman.
I generally only watch strongman nowadays for 2 simple reasons, I don't like watching a sport where they reward the guy who is the biggest and most freaky looking instead of the most aesthetically pleasing, The other is i don't like watching a sport where the bench pressers arch their backs to look like a cat while using a 2 mm ROM, Personal problem i know
This was the best thing that could have happened for larry. A little more urgency on the overhead medley, or a little less bush league BS on the tire flip and he's the winner, but what would that teach him? He'll win every event here next year if he's healthy, and then go on to be a REAL contendor at the Arnold's.
Just been looking through your videos Larry and i love your humble mindset, very likeable personality and dude, for a young man with the achievements you already have, i predict you to be a future great if you keep the dedication, absolute beast !! Good to see my Viking brothers supporting you too, respect of the highest buddy !!
Should seek advice from mariusz pudzianowski he is similar height and build and athletic. I think you could learn a lot from him. He's 6 feet tall and has 5 WSM titles. Good luck larry
Strongman has changed more than you think since pudzianowski no doubt he's a legend but he wouldn't have won any of the last 5 WSM. The hevy weights and events for Max would have wrecked him. Larry is stronger now than pudz was in his prime but I definitely think he could help him with loading, carrying farmers, yolk
@@Writing-With-Dyslexia have you seen the weights and events that pudz got his 5 titles he was a great strongman no doubt but nowhere near strongest of all time.
Martins is hilarious, such a cool dude. Was wierd seeing Martins cameraman (the skinny asian dude) competing and giving Larry advice. Goes to show how humble Larry is in taking advice from all walks of life. Congrats on achieving 2nd place Larry...1st place is not too far away.
@@1247111 mateusz got beat by MARTINS LICIS! who also has placed 4th in world strongest man 2 times in a row. mateusz has not.. so Martins > all of them except the top 3 at wsm ^^
@@seheadhunter50 that short Mexican knows more about techniques than Larry .... just because he's short and small doesn't mean he doesn't know the technique for it. He's trying to help Larry so chill the fuck out
You have top 0.1% strongman that are built like bodybuilders. And you have many more that are "fat" during the competitions but shredded during other times.
@Jason Vic they sat down and ate... That hardly counts. I think Shaw is more focused on his training for the Arnold right now and not worried about a collab or training with Larry at this time.
These videos are amazing Larry. Super humble and genuine dude, no bullshit just work. I don't usually watch long videos like this but yours definitely kept me on the phone until the end. 24 and at this level is insane. Hope you keep climbing higher and excited to see what more is in store. All the best!
@@mrg00dk4t why are you acting like 3 years is a big difference if any at all? age won't be a factor if they're only 3 years apart. also, strongmen don't even peak till mid to late 30s.
Also, Larry was the strongest man at that competition. He was just slower due to inexperience and probably not wanting to hurt himself with unfamiliar movements.
First Larry Wheels video Ive watched and the first strongman video ive watched. Fallen in love with both already. Larrys a great dude and the strongman community is great.
44:22 that guy giving his instagram name thinks Larry Wheels editing guy Is going to put his instagram name in the video where he put his hands . Ha imagine
