SteveO! Gotta say thanks...I am 15 hours into getting my Private Pilots License at KPDK. At over 50 years old I said screw it...let's learn to fly, I'm not dead yet. All because of watching your videos. My wife blames you :)

If you're physically fit to do it, you can still fly at least 25 years, so it's definitely worth it. When i started to made my glider pilot license i was 15, and the oldest trainee in our club was 66 and he made the license in about the same time like me :)

Never too old to learn to fly. Whether private or professional, it's a fundamental achievement that will change your life forever. I learned 22 years ago and as well as meeting a bunch of life-long friends, it changed my whole approach and perspective of my work and personal direction.

November 949 Bravo Zulu -- "Bravo Zulu" actually comes from the Allied Naval Signal Book (ACP 175 series), an international naval signal code adopted after the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was created in 1949... ACP 175 was organized in the general manner of other signal books, that is, starting with 1-flag signals, then 2-flag and so on. The 2-flag signals were organized by general subject, starting with AA, AB, AC, ... AZ, BA, BB, BC, ... BZ, and so on. The B- signals were called "Administrative" signals, and dealt with miscellaneous matters of administration and housekeeping. The last signal on the "Administrative" page was BZ, standing for "well done." The Navy adopted this ICAO alphabet in March 1956. It was then that "Baker Zebra" finally became "Bravo Zulu."

Last year we got 3 couples together for a charter from Miami to Nassau. They stuck us on a Cessna Caravan. Charter flying is so much better than flying commercial. If you plan it right and have enough people, the cost is a wash. It may end up slightly more, but not by much. But the convenience and avoiding the masses is well worth it. Not only that, you can actually fly direct to the island of your choice. There are several strips on the other islands that can be accessed directly. When you factor that in, you eliminate a long commute from Nassau to your hotel, removing yet another expense and time. I believe Steve O has also flown the Caravan too. And to the Bahamas. Still doing that? Been out of the loop for a while.

Always enjoy seeing you nail a sweet landing allowing for that quick exit, you really know that airplane! One of the most difficult things for me is when you get ANY kind of nonstandard instructions like the 180 turn and hold short. It is easy enough, but you still have to process it and make sure you actually understand don't screw up. Like you demonstrated, ask twice to be sure and that way no errors or incursions! Well done sir!

Nice to be back in the air with you Stevo. Appreciate the way you handled the taxiway 180 on arrival. I heard the instruction and immediately went to ah, there's a hold short line right there. Good discipline to not assume and to double-check. Also good to be aware of and mitigate the jet's potential spool-up - good situational awareness! You could fly my airplane any day.

Hi Steve. So cool. Great flight, great new airplane. I loved flying, the feeling of being liberated, it can’t be beaten, even in a 172. I fly commercials now, from the 10 row 😉. I sometimes even get a nod from the person in the next seat🤔. I get the same feeling, when watching you, you’re just so in command, monitoring the chat and instructions. And I can’t resist confirming them with you, N949BZ cleared for takeoff 🤗🤗. Cheers Noel, in the UK

Nice little video! I’ve always wanted to learn to fly. I took a small plane to Abaco Island in 2004 for a wedding. The plane was made in the 70’s. Me, my wife and other family members of hers were onboard. To be honest the airplane scared the hell out of all of us. The plane had duct tape holding aspects of the dashboard together. Literally! Plenty of visual wear and tear all around the inside & outside of the airplane. Gauges that were not functional! 😡. I sat next to the pilot. Needless to say…… 🤬. Once we were up the worry was over. If we were going down, we were going down. By the grace of god we made it to the Abacos from Fort Lauderdale & back a week later with the same “beat up” airplane. Long story short a week after being back home in Jacksonville, I read in the Florida Times Union that the plane {THAT SAME AIRPLANE WE TOOK TO THE BAHAMAS & BACK} went down in the ocean just a mile or two off shore. People did survive but some did not. Not to make this about me but I must have 9 lives. I was already killed by a drunk driver in 1976. I was dead for a solid 27 minutes with 38 broken bones and two severe head injuries before I was spared and brought back life. I flatlined twice on the ambulance ride to the hospital and then once in the ER the 27 minutes of deadness happened. I must have 9 lives! I have not fallen off any roofs but I have came close on several occasions. I don’t recommend people live as I have. Choose a safer path to eliminate permanent injury. Permanent injury strips u of your earning abilities but people still come at you like hungry vultures on feeding day! lol

I just happened to find this channel, and I love it. That TBM really does fly like a rocket! I can tell you that if you followed that routine in minus 20 degree Celsius weather with a 10 kt wind you wouldn’t be very popular with the marshallers. That guy stood there waiting for you. Steve...congrats on the new job! Gotta say that TBM moves like a jet...320 kts...ouch! How fast is that? You might not know being at those high altitudes but Top Fuel Dragsters run 320 MPH but only for a few seconds...you on the other hand can keep those speeds for hours...let that sink in. Watch a video on youtube from a drivers POV in one of those things and you'll get an idea how fast that is...that's blistering speed which might be hard to tell at 20,000ft. By the way...love the scenery in Florida...it has some of the best landscapes for scenic flying...like your descriptions of what you do in the cockpits which I find very informative and would like to see more of the instruments too if possible. Thanks!
